Chapter 100 - Chapter 100 : Team 7 VS Team Hidden Mist [2]

Naruto and Suigetsu faced each other in the thick mist, the sound of rushing water nearby matching the chaos of their fight. Both were panting, glaring, each waiting for the other to make the first move.

Sukuna had to admit that out of all the matchups, these two fighting was the most entertaining. Both were knuckleheaded and didn't shy away from smack-talking each other.

While they lacked the flashy moves he would surely see where both Kakashi and Zabuza were fighting, he was still enjoying these two idiots duking it out.

Especially since the aforementioned fight between Kakashi and Zabuza was shrouded by Zabuza's mist.

'Tch, so annoying.'

Naruto cracked his knuckles. "Heh, what's wrong, fish-face? Afraid to get punched again?"

Suigetsu smirked, resting his massive sword on his shoulder. "Punch me? You haven't even touched me once, blondie. What are you even trying to do—water me to death?"

Which was true; Suigetsu's hydrofication was a pain in the ass for Naruto just as much as it had been for Sukuna all those years ago against Mangetsu.

Naruto growled. "Oh yeah? Let's see about that! Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

With a burst of smoke, a dozen Narutos appeared around him, each yelling their own battle cry. "Let's gooo!"

They all rushed Suigetsu from different directions, swinging fists, kunai, and feet. It wasn't even all mindless rushing either; every movement of Naruto and his clones was honed with skill and power.

What was more dangerous was the insane teamwork between the clones. There was hardly any loophole to exploit or space to dodge.

If it were anyone else, they would have been beaten to a pulp.

However, each of their blows passed harmlessly through Suigetsu's watery form. His body rippled like a puddle, reforming instantly as he laughed.

'That power is just as annoying as Kamui.' Sukuna, who was observing from farther away while still protecting Tazuna, couldn't help but click his tongue and shake his head. For someone who knew how Naruto fought and almost all of his skill set, he knew Naruto wasn't getting out of this fight victorious.

He might not lose, since the bastard had monstrous stamina and could go on all day long. Suigetsu might run out of chakra before Naruto gave up, but victory would still be hard until Naruto came up with something out of the box.

"Nice try, kid! How does it feel to punch water? Productive?"

Naruto's clones growled and attacked again, but Suigetsu swung his sword in a wide arc, slicing through several clones at once. Of course, it was just an ordinary sword—no special one for the current Suigetsu.

All of Naruto's clones vanished in puffs of smoke, leaving only a frustrated Naruto jumping back.

"Man, you're such a pain!" Naruto yelled. "You're worse than fighting Sukuna! At least I know my punches work as long as they connect!" he grumbled, irritated.

Suigetsu chuckled. "Then why not give up? Why waste time trying to do the impossible?"

Naruto's eyes narrowed. "Yeah? Keep talking, you water balloon!"

He sent in more clones, faster this time, mixing real and fake attacks. Some distracted from the front while others came from above and behind. Suigetsu blocked the attacks with his blade, turning into water whenever something connected. But as soon as he turned to strike, his sword passed through another clone.

"Tch!" Suigetsu hissed, realizing he hadn't landed a single hit either. "You're a really annoying bastard, you know that?"

Naruto grinned, crouching low. "Heh, takes one to know one!"

Suigetsu sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "You're wasting your energy, idiot. I'm made of water. You can't beat that."

Naruto pointed at him, smirking. "Yeah, but you can't hit me either! You keep attacking my clones. You're not that smart for a fish."

"Fish?!" Suigetsu barked, clearly offended. "You little— I'm gonna wring you dry!"

He dashed forward, his body flowing like liquid, the massive sword cleaving through several clones again. But before he could reach Naruto, the real one jumped high above him, hurling a handful of kunai with paper tags attached.

"Take this!" Naruto yelled.

The tags exploded in a flash, creating a wall of smoke and steam. Suigetsu stumbled out, annoyed but unharmed, his body dripping. While those bombs didn't completely shatter his water body, they weren't going to hurt him either.

Only electricity could—and good thing this idiot didn't know that. Suigetsu smirked as his body pieced itself together in water form.

"You call that an attack? My grandma could do better!"

Naruto landed, panting. "With a grandson like you, that's more of a requirement than a boast!"

Suigetsu frowned. Weren't those a bit too big words for a single-cell organism like the idiot in front of him? For a second, Suigetsu thought maybe Naruto wasn't as dumb as he looked.

"And you fight too loud, brat."

Both glared again, the air buzzing with frustration. Every time Naruto attacked, Suigetsu melted. Every time Suigetsu countered, he hit nothing but clones.

It was chaos—a clash between fire and water, fists and sword, ego and pride—each unwilling to back down.

And with that, their fists and sword met midair, the impact sending waves through the mist. Neither landed a real hit, but neither backed down. The deadlock continued—frustrating, exhausting, and somehow, strangely fun for both of them.

Something Sukuna couldn't say for the fight taking place beside them. It was Sasuke and Kimimaro.

They too stood facing each other in the mist-covered forest clearing, the ground beneath them cracked from earlier clashes. Neither spoke at first—just silence, sharp and tense, like two predators watching for an opening.

Finally, Sasuke broke the silence. "You're not like the others. You're strong."

Kimimaro tilted his head slightly. "You move well. But your strikes lack the strength to go through my bones. I suggest you give up—you can't win."

Sasuke's eyes narrowed, his Sharingan spinning to life. "We'll see about that."

In an instant, Sasuke dashed forward, faster than the eye could follow. His kunai clashed against Kimimaro's forearm—only for sparks to fly. Sasuke jumped back, realizing what had just happened.

"Bones… don't you have anything besides those annoying things?" he muttered, now irritated by how durable Kimimaro's bones were.

Kimimaro calmly flexed his arm, where a sharp bone blade had extended from his wrist. "My bones are my weapon. If they irk you, then just give up."

Sasuke smirked. "Give up, huh? Never. This is the fight I've been looking forward to all this time."

He threw several shuriken in rapid succession, their paths twisting midair thanks to wire strings attached. Kimimaro deflected most with bone blades, but Sasuke tugged one of the wires suddenly, causing a shuriken to curve around and cut into Kimimaro's shoulder.

Kimimaro didn't flinch. Blood dripped, but he didn't seem to care. "Impressive. But you'll have to do more than scratch me." And it was indeed a surface-level wound. His skin was pierced, but the bone armor beneath it was like iron.

He rushed forward, his movements eerily graceful. From his palms and knees, sharp bones shot out like spears. Sasuke barely dodged them, flipping and sliding, sparks flying as bone met metal.

"Too slow," Sasuke said, breathing hard but smiling.

Kimimaro twisted his body suddenly, pulling a bone from his spine and using it like a sword. The speed of his attacks increased, forcing Sasuke onto the defensive. Sasuke blocked one strike after another, but the sheer pressure pushed him back.

"Tch… he's strong," Sasuke muttered, his Sharingan tracking every move. For the first time, he realized he didn't have any technique powerful enough to break through that defense.

Kimimaro lunged, slashing diagonally. Sasuke ducked, then countered with a spinning kick that connected with Kimimaro's jaw. For a brief moment, Kimimaro staggered—but only for a moment. He swung his bone sword again, this time grazing Sasuke's arm, drawing blood.

Sasuke jumped back, clutching his arm. "Damn it…"

Kimimaro lowered his blade. "You're wasting time. If this is all you have, I'll end it."

Sasuke wiped the blood off his chin, smirking. "You'll have to catch me first."

With that said, he instantly took off the weights he was wearing on his legs and waist. Nothing compared to what Rock Lee used in the Chunin Exams, but for a speedster like Sasuke, this was enough.

He dashed forward again, much faster now, this time feinting left before vanishing in a blur. The Sharingan's prediction let him appear behind Kimimaro, launching a fierce combo—kick, punch, then a sweeping low strike that sent Kimimaro tumbling back.

Kimimaro stood, expression still calm, though his clothes were torn. "You're fast."

The confidence, of course, came from his ridiculous defense—his bone armor.

"And you're tough," Sasuke replied.

Kimimaro's bones began to protrude from his shoulders and ribs, surrounding him like armor. "Let's finish this."

He charged again, his bone sword whistling through the air. Sasuke met him head-on, kunai in one hand, Sharingan blazing.

Needless to say, this fight too was at a deadlock.
