Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Festival Day One – Let the World See

---

The stadium was packed.

Flags waved. Cameras rolled. The U.A. Sports Festival—Japan's most-watched hero student event—had officially begun.

Ron stood at the entrance tunnel, arms crossed, calm as ever. But inside?

His heart beat like a war drum.

He wasn't nervous. He was calculating.

A festival broadcast worldwide meant exposure. For Ron, who was hiding a broken system disguised as a simple "copy quirk," that was dangerous.

Too much power shown here could paint a target on his back. But too little?

They'd think he was weak.

Balance. He needed to walk the edge.

---

In the announcer's box, Present Mic shouted into the mic, voice booming through the stadium:

"WELCOME TO THE SPORTS FESTIVAL! Are you ready for the future heroes of Japan?!"

The crowd roared.

Beside him, Aizawa sipped coffee silently. "Let's see how far Ron pushes himself."

---

Midoriya stood next to Ron in the waiting line, fidgeting nervously.

"I've never been good at crowds," he admitted.

Ron gave him a sidelong glance. "Then you're going to hate the spotlight."

Midoriya smiled awkwardly.

"I mean… are you planning to win this whole thing?"

Ron didn't hesitate. "Yes."

A beat.

"Even if you have to beat me?"

"Especially if I have to beat you."

---

The first event: The Obstacle Race.

A brutal 4-kilometer run through landmines, zero-gravity zones, trap corridors, and a mechanical horde of giant battle bots from the entrance exam.

As Midnight shouted, "START!" the race exploded into motion.

---

Ron moved like a silver bullet.

First obstacle: Giant Robots.

Other students scrambled around, dodging and ducking. Todoroki froze them. Bakugo blasted over them.

Ron didn't dodge.

He ran straight at one.

With Explosion boosting his feet, One For All wrapped around his body at 8%, and Engine propelling him forward—he leapt onto a bot's face, formed a sword of ice, and slashed its head off.

The entire stadium gasped.

Even Todoroki's eyes widened.

"He took it head-on… and won."

Ron kept moving.

He used Uraraka's zero-gravity (copied earlier from a handshake) to lighten his body. He launched off a landmine, then used Explosion to bounce mid-air, surfing on a stream of his own fire and ice.

Monoma, who was behind, growled in frustration. "He's using quirks like they're cards in a deck…"

---

Ron reached the final stretch. A canyon filled with mines. He paused for only a second—calculating.

Then smiled.

BOOM.

He launched an explosion at the ground, used Half-Cold to freeze the shockwave under his feet and rode the blast across the minefield like a rocket-powered surfboard.

He soared across the finish line—first—with a silver trail of mist and flame behind him.

---

The stadium erupted.

"A STUNNING DISPLAY FROM CLASS 1-A's RON!" Present Mic screamed. "This kid's a walking quirk arsenal!!"

In the VIP lounge, Endeavor watched silently.

"That boy… he used my son's power. And more."

Beside him, All Might narrowed his eyes. "No… that's not just quirks. That's something else."

---

Ron stood quietly, chest rising with calm breath, as cameras focused on him.

The world had seen him now.

But he was just getting started.
