Chapter 73 - CHAPTER 73: PIECES OF ROSHAN,

---

Scene: Rose's Apartment – Dim Light, Silent Night

Rose sat cross-legged on her bed, Roshan's journal open before her. The pages were stained with age—and tears.

She flipped to the marked section.

> "I fell in love once. It wasn't loud, but it changed everything.

His name was Mek.

He never knew. I didn't want him to.

I couldn't tell him… not when I was leaving.

Not when my world was falling apart."

Rose's hands shook.

> "He… he loved him?"

And suddenly, everything fell into place.

Her hate. Her grief. Her revenge. All tangled in a boy Roshan loved silently—and Pete now held in his arms.

> "Mek… he was Roshan's heart…"

Scene: Mek & Pete – On the Road to Roshan's Hometown

The wind whistled as the car rolled through the countryside. Mek stared out the window, lost in thoughts.

> "I can still remember his laugh," Mek whispered. "I thought… I'd forgotten. But I didn't. I just buried it."

Pete reached over, his hand squeezing Mek's gently.

> "We'll find him," Pete said softly. "Even if he's not here anymore… we'll find what he left behind."

They arrived at a small town — quiet, humble. Roshan's childhood home still stood, faded blue paint peeling at the corners.

An old woman opened the door.

> "You're… Mek, aren't you?" she whispered.

Mek's heart skipped.

> "How do you know me?"

> "Roshan spoke of you. Every letter he sent. Said you were the brightest boy he ever met… that you were the reason he smiled through the pain."

Mek choked on his breath.

> "He remembered me?"

The woman handed them a sealed envelope, yellowed with time.

> "He told me to give this to you… if you ever came."

---

Scene: Hilltop Graveyard – Sunset

Mek stood before Roshan's grave, the letter in hand.

> "Mek,

If you're reading this, it means you found me… even after all this time.

I don't want you to cry. I want you to live. Love someone who deserves you.

If he makes you smile like I used to, then I'm at peace.

You were the best part of my youth.

— Roshan"

Tears streamed down Mek's face. Pete stepped beside him, wrapping his arms tightly around him.

> "He loved you, Mek," Pete whispered. "And now I understand… why you're worth fighting the whole world for."

---

Scene: Rose's Rooftop – Night

Rose looked up at the stars, Roshan's charm clutched in her palm.

> "So this is why you loved him…"

She picked up her phone.

Typed. Deleted. Typed again. Then finally sent:

To Mek:

> "I hated you… because you had what I lost. But now I know—

You're the only piece of Roshan left in this world.

Maybe it's time we stop fighting."
