Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Portgas D. Ace, The Most Cursed Bloodline in the World

[Uchiha Sasuke: What's a Resurrection Card? Can it actually bring the dead back to life?]

Sasuke was the first to react—violently.

His mind immediately filled with images of his parents, his entire clan.

If such a card truly existed… could they all be brought back?

His eyes gleamed with desperate hope.

Even Kakashi, the perennial dead-fish-eyed sensei, felt a ripple in his heart.

Resurrection…?

Obito. Rin. His father. Minato-sensei. Kushina-sama...

[Uzumaki Naruto: Sasuke?!]

[Terumi Mei: Eternal youth? Sounds tempting~]

[Charlotte Linlin: Mamamama~ A real resurrection card?! That's MINE! Don't any of you dare try to take it from me!]

Her nun—her dear sister—was about to be revived!

[Charlotte Perospero: Perorororo… of course the resurrection card belongs to Mama.]

At Marineford's war room, the place erupted into chaos.

"So now we can confirm it's not a Devil Fruit ability," Kuzan muttered lazily.

Because no known fruit could pull off something like this.

Any one of those listed rewards would be staggering by itself.

If the person behind all this truly possessed such power, why even bother with a screen like this?

With things that defy logic, they could easily conquer the Grand Line.

[Now playing: Hidden Identities of Legendary Figures – First Entry: Portgas D. Ace!]

[Note: Rankings are not in order of strength or importance. Selection is randomized!]

[Portgas D. Ace—The Man Born with the World's Most Cursed Bloodline]

["What I've always sought… may not be fame or glory. What I really want to know—what I've always wanted to know—is whether my existence… was ever a good thing."]

The screen lit up.

A chained young man appeared on-screen, shirtless.

On his back, the Whitebeard symbol stood boldly etched. On his shoulder: the letters A-S-C-E… with the "S" crossed out.

As the chains clanked loudly, he was slowly marched step by step up the execution platform.

His expression was grim, his eyes full of conflict and despair.

"Ace…"

Luffy's fists clenched tightly, his eyes ablaze with overwhelming fury.

All around the world, the scattered Straw Hat crew members gasped.

"Luffy's brother..."

Nami burst into tears and took off running.

Luffy's words echoed in her head—"I'm going to save Ace!"

How could they not be by his side at a time like this?

Zoro, facing off against a group of baboons with his three swords drawn, knew he couldn't afford to waste another second here.

Sanji bit through his cigarette and blasted away surrounding enemies with [Diable Jambe].

"We have to save our big brother," he muttered.

He could still picture Ace, lounging on the Going Merry's dining bench, smiling softly at his younger brother's antics.

How could that brother be treated like this?

In another timeline...

Aboard the Oro Jackson, sailing the seas.

Gol D. Roger looked up—and froze as the screen revealed the youth's face.

There was something eerily familiar about him.

Ace? That name...

"Captain, that guy up there shares the same name as your sword!"

Little Buggy pointed with a shriek.

"Yeah... and even the surname Portgas…"

Roger didn't laugh. For once, his expression turned heavy.

Back in the Shinobi World.

Shikaku stared at the screen, analyzing calmly.

"This must be someone from that other world—probably the Ace that Luffy guy was talking about."

The tattoo on his arm made it clear.

"Is that so?" Kakashi drawled with his usual deadpan. "Well, it's another world's business. What really matters is whether this screen poses any threat to us."

"Right. Since this has already spread across the entire ninja world, I propose we hold a Five Kage Summit."

Shikaku's tone was serious.

Danzo's eyes glared daggers at the Third Hokage.

They'd already argued about the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki, and now this?

Damn you, Hiruzen… I'll prove I'm the one who's right!

His gaze darkened as it lingered on the words: Eternal Youth Card. Resurrection Card.

Greed surged. He was already plotting.

Naruto read the screen quietly. His gaze dimmed.

So… this guy wanted others to recognize his existence too?

That hit a little too close to home.

But he, Naruto the Great, would earn his place through strength.

He'd become an incredible Hokage. Then everyone would acknowledge him!

Heh heh!

[Ace knelt atop the execution platform.]

From that height, he could see it all—

Below stood 100,000 elite Marines gathered at Marine Headquarters.

Sengoku the Fleet Admiral and the Hero of the Navy, Garp, stepped out together.

"Can I speak now, Garp? I want to tell them everything."

"Do as you like. I'm heading down."

"This is..."

Sengoku clenched his fists.

These events hadn't occurred yet—but they were exactly as he'd once envisioned the future might unfold.

If this really was the future... then this screen—

[Borsalino: Pew pew~ That's terrifying. This is definitely the future.]

[Donquixote Doflamingo: Fufufufufu~ Seeing the future before the war even begins? Now this is exciting.]

[Uzumaki Naruto: 'Cursed bloodline'? What's that supposed to mean? He doesn't look evil... is this guy some kind of supervillain?]

[Sakazuki: Anyone who strays from justice has no right to exist. The moment he became a pirate, this ending was already decided.]

[Edward Newgate: Ace, my dear son… you look so broken. Hang in there. Pops is coming for you right now!]

Whitebeard's heart ached seeing Ace kneel in chains.

His son's expression was too off—haunted, heavy.

It had to be that thing still weighing on him.

Ace... are you still living under Roger's shadow?

[Hidan: Ohohoho~ This is exhilarating! Execution! Lord Jashin loves sacrifice rituals! Let's offer this devil to the gods!]

[Kakuzu: Shut up, Hidan. You're too loud.]

Seeing those two appear on-screen, several Kage and village elders furrowed their brows.

Kakuzu?

Wasn't he an S-rank rogue ninja?

He's still active?

The video continued playing.

[Sengoku appeared beside a Den Den Mushi. "There's something I need to reveal to everyone."]

["Portgas D. Ace—this man's death today carries tremendous weight."]

["Ace, state your father's name."]

Ace looked up, glaring sideways with dark eyes. After a long pause, he shut his eyes.

"My old man... is Whitebeard."

"No!" Sengoku cut him off with a roar.

"There is no mistake. I have only one father—Whitebeard. No one else."

His furrowed brow revealed just how much he hated this topic.

Sengoku ignored his defiance and continued speaking:

"At the time, we searched desperately. We suspected that man's child might be left somewhere on a remote island."

"With just a whisper of CP intelligence and pure speculation, we interrogated every newborn, every expectant mother, all across the islands. But we found nothing."

"But we shouldn't have been surprised. You were born through your mother's ultimate sacrifice.

Some might even say... it was a meticulously planned deception."

"She fooled our eyes."

"No—she fooled the entire world."

Sengoku didn't even realize the trace of admiration in his voice.

"In the South Blue, on an island called Baterilla, your mother's name was Portgas D. Rouge."

At that moment, Ace's eyes widened in shock.

His pupils trembled violently, as if something he'd feared all his life had just come true.
