The victory in the Whispering Library was, by far, our most ridiculous one yet. We had won a stealth mission by being so lazy that our opponents simply disqualified themselves around us. The team returned to the dungeon through the portal, not weary from battle, but looking like they had just woken up from a very satisfying, if slightly stressful, nap.
FaeLina was ecstatic. 'We're in the quarter-finals, Mochi! The quarter-finals! Do you know how much prize money that is?! We can afford to gold-plate the teacups! We can hire a second, even fancier slime waiter!'
Her celebration was cut short by the final notification from the last match, the one that had sent her into a panic.
