Chapter 10 - Shifting Tides.

Kai walked into the station the next morning, a cast on his broken hand and bruises lining his face. Eli walked next to him.

"Redevils," Kai muttered. "They don't act like Night Rider's group. They're organized differently, more like a mafia rather than a biker gang. Intimidation and control are their methods, not skill or spirit."

Eli nodded. "We need to bring this up to our superior. Shift the focus toward these new guys, they're causing real harm, not just harmless chaos."

Their superior listened carefully. "You have a point. Investigate, but don't engage recklessly. Keep me updated."

Later, the cafe was alive with the morning rush. Mira joined them, her eyes bright. "Night Rider's group doesn't like the Redevils either," she said. "It's dangerous to assume all rebels are alike. They are more rebels group out there too just none that we've heard about, also the leader of the Redevils has always been a thorn to Night Rider apparently."

Kai and Eli exchanged glances. Everything lined up, the Redevils weren't just a nuisance, they were structured, deliberate, and dangerous.

Later that day Night Rider and Raven took the streets under the coat of the darkness, the city lights glinted off the asphalt. Night Rider leaned into curves, fluid as always, with Raven gripping tight.

"You're showing off," she teased.

"Maybe a little," he admitted with a smirk. The teasing was light but carried a subtle intimacy, a bond that will always be there.

"So you ready for my plan?" he asked after a moment, slowing slightly.

"I guess I'll do you the favor," Raven replied, "But you'll owe me."

"No problem," he said. "Just get it don't, and don't get caught."

As they rode back, Night Rider noticed a figure ahead, the leader of the Redevils, riding alone. Night Rider approached and pulled up beside him.

"You really oughta stop, with you're negotiations." he commanded

"So what? I'm making money," the leader argued. "Why should I listen to you?, you're just a guy hiding behind mask, I live my life my way."

Night Rider's voice was calm but firm. "Then handle this mess yourself. I don't wanna see you come crawling to me when you need help, this mask and my identity isn't something you can rely on anymore, leave me out of your sh*t."

Back in the garage, Dax and Switch discussed Night Rider's confrontation.

"Night Rider's mad," Dax said. "The Redevils' always put their problems onto him when they're deep into trouble, and it frustrates him. They all act high and mighty, but in reality, they're cowards."

"Why does he keep dealing with it?" Switch asked.

"Because every time he does it helps us." Dax said. "But The Redevils' are of asking too much, and now they're gonna end up losing his protection, if they don't cut the ties."

Meanwhile, two high-ranking cops in the station discussed new intel. "I wonder who will be able to ride this beast," one said. The struggle between rebels and police continued to escalate.

In a dark, windowless room lit only by a single hanging bulb, the Redevils' leader sat stiffly across from a man cloaked in shadow. The leader's cocky demeanor was gone, replaced by unease as the stranger leaned forward.

"So," the man said in a smooth, deliberate tone, "are you going to accept my offer... or am I going to have to leave here disappointed in you?"

The Redevils' leader swallowed hard. "well, sir I've thought about it. I'm not sure. I was talking to Night Rider."

The man cut him off with a sharp laugh. "Night Rider, huh? He's still running things down here?" I'm surprised he hasn't been killed yet."

"You know him?" the leader asked carefully.

The man's voice lowered, dripping with amusement. "Of course I do. I tried to recruit him back when he was younger. In fact, I'm one of the few people who knows his true self." He leaned in, the dim light catching the faint curve of a cruel smile. "If you join me, I could tell you everything. And then you'd be able to shut him down for good."

The Redevils' leader hesitated, then extended his hand. "You have a deal."

"Great," the man said smoothly, shaking it.

That night, on a rooftop overlooking the sprawling city, Night Rider stood alone with his helmet in his hand. The skyline glowed faintly with scattered neon and the haze of streetlights.

His reflection caught in the visor as he muttered to himself, "I need to move fast... before they all find out."
