Chapter 68 - Ahmed goes to the fish market(part69)

(One day, after school ended, Ahmed decided to fulfill a part of the challenge Misaki had placed on him. He had saved some money from his small allowance, so he carried his bag on his shoulder and headed toward the large fish market in Tokyo.

The market was bustling with movement and sounds; vendors were calling out for their goods, and the fresh scents of the sea mingled with the colors of the various fish. Ahmed walked with confident steps, his eyes searching among the pools filled with cold water and the white boxes of ice. He wasn't looking for just any ordinary fish, but for something that reminded him of his distant country, Yemen.

He stood at one of the stalls and asked the vendor with a polite smile about the types of fish available. As he examined the display, his eyes fell upon the king mackerel, which reminded him of the ports of Aden and the coasts of Hadramout, where his father sometimes took him in his childhood. Next to it was a large shrimp, gleaming with its pink color under the market light.

Ahmed examined the fish with the eye of a small expert, pressing on their scales to ensure their freshness and inspecting their red gills. After choosing carefully, he smiled as he imagined the table he would prepare: fish seasoned with Yemeni spices, with fragrant rice and seafood appetizers that would amaze Misaki and her family. He felt an internal enthusiasm, as if he wasn't just buying food, but creating a new promise of loyalty and memories.)
