Chapter 14 - CHAPITRE 14 : The Judgment of Light

Silence fell — heavy and tense — between the heartbeats of León.

Before him, the luminous angel had just severed the arm of the monster that tried to kill him. His sword still glowed with a celestial light as the surrounding creatures froze, stepping back instinctively.

The angel slowly turned his gaze away from León. His expression was solemn.

He looked at the monsters.

A shiver ran through the horde.

They were afraid.

A fear ancient and pure — bone-deep and instinctive.

This was no man. This was no ordinary warrior.

This was judgment incarnate. A light piercing the abyss.

A growl echoed from the back of the horde. Another monster stepped back.

Some trembled. But others — driven mad by the chaotic energy released from the time anomaly — roared savagely and charged all at once.

But the angel didn't move.

He calmly raised one foot…

And vanished.

In the blink of an eye, he shot through the battlefield like a divine bolt of light, a beam slicing through shadow. León couldn't follow the movement — his human eyes were far too slow.

In the wake of the angel's path, ten monsters were obliterated instantly. Their bodies didn't even have time to collapse. They were erased, annihilated in a burst of pure radiant energy. Their screams were brief echoes of their final terror.

The angel had crossed the battlefield.

He reappeared, still and upright, next to the unconscious body of Jason from the future, like a sentinel guarding fate itself.

León, still kneeling, watched with wide, stunned eyes. His breath was shallow. The battlefield had changed. This was no longer a chaotic fight.

It had become a divine judgment.

Some of the monsters, already wounded, turned and fled, their shrill cries ringing out among the ruins. Their claws tore the ground as they fled the overwhelming presence of the angel.

But others — larger, darker, more twisted — circled the angel, creatures born from nightmares and time distortions.

Their jaws opened. They roared. And then they all attacked. Together.

Dozens of beasts — a tidal wave of shadows and madness — descended on the angel with a storm of claws and teeth.

But he stood unmoved.

He raised his sword. Light erupted from it. A silent prayer.

The angel stood still, light radiating gently from his being as the dust settled.

He turned his gaze toward Jason's unconscious body. With a soft motion, he knelt beside him, lifting Jason into his arms effortlessly. Despite his strength, he handled him with great care — as if he were lifting the last hope of a crumbling world.

He then turned and walked toward León, who was still stunned by everything happening before his eyes.

When the angel reached him, he placed Jason softly in León's arms.

León, overwhelmed, looked up at the celestial being with confusion and fear.

The angel's voice, both gentle and commanding, resonated inside his chest rather than his ears.

"Take care of him. Protect him. He still has a mission to complete."

León nodded slowly, unable to speak, clutching Jason tightly.

But the battlefield was far from silent.

From the far edges of the ruined city, dark howls and thunderous footsteps echoed once more.

More monsters had come.

Those who had fled returned with reinforcements. Some had doubled in size.

Others… had multiplied.

There were now eighty of them.

Grotesque, twisted forms.

Giants that shook the earth.

Medium-sized horrors with claws sharp enough to slice steel.

Creatures born from distortion and time decay.

They gathered. Surrounded the angel.

But he did not flinch.

He planted his foot slowly into the ground once more —

And reality bent.

Time and space folded like silk around him.

Suddenly, a glowing sphere enveloped the entire zone — a radiant dome of energy and light that rose from the ground and sealed the space.

León and Jason were gently pushed outside its limits, as if the barrier itself knew whom to protect.

Inside this temporal bubble, a new world was born.

No ruins.

No debris.

No obstacles.

Only a vast open field — an empty plane of silver-white ground, under a swirling sky of light and shadow.

A world between time. A battlefield shaped by divine will.

The angel stood alone.

Eighty monsters surrounded him like a storm.

But here, they couldn't hide in shadows.

Here, in this dimension beyond illusion, everything was stripped to its essence.

Only truth remained.

The angel whispered a word in a language no human could understand.

And then…

He raised his sword.

The final battle had begun.

Inside the dimension of truth, silence reigned.

The angel stood, his sword lowered, watching the hordes of monsters circling him like hungry wolves.

But he did not move.

He didn't need to.

The first monster, a beast with three jaws and armored limbs, charged with a deafening roar.

In less than a blink—

Its head was gone.

The other monsters didn't even see the angel move.

A second charged from behind. A scream.

Then silence.

Its entire body had been split in half.

Panic began to spread among them. But they were too many. And too proud.

Dozens leapt at once, forming a wave of claws, fangs, and magic.

They never touched him.

Every blow missed.

Not because he dodged — but because they were simply too slow.

To them, the angel was everywhere and nowhere.

One moment he stood still — the next, he was behind them. Beside them. Above them.

Each time he appeared, one or two monsters vanished into dust.

Clean. Silent. Absolute.

They didn't understand what they were fighting.

This wasn't a warrior.

It was a judgment made flesh.

Their fear grew into chaos.

Some monsters turned to flee.

Others roared and attacked blindly.

A few combined their powers, forming destructive spells that tore the air apart…

… but none of it reached him.

He walked through fire and lightning as if it were mist.

His expression never changed.

Calm. Focused. Unshaken.

Then he stopped.

He raised his sword toward the sky.

His wings spread wide, shining like stars.

The entire sphere of the dimension pulsed — the very fabric of space trembled.

The monsters froze.

Their bodies locked.

Their magic failed.

And then they saw it.

Above them, the sky split open.

An eye.

A colossal, divine eye appeared in the heavens, radiating light and truth.

The voice of the angel echoed across the dimension, shaking the monsters to their cores.

"This is your end."

"For the crimes committed against time…"

"For the blood spilled in vain…"

"For the corruption you carry…"

"You are sentenced."

He lifted his left hand, palm open.

The energy around him exploded upward.

And then—

"ANGELIC JUDGMENT."

A beam of unimaginable power descended from the divine eye.

White, gold, and blue light surged down like the wrath of creation itself.

The monsters screamed — but only for a moment.

The light consumed them.

One by one, they were turned to dust.

No escape.

No defense.

No second chance.

In a single, silent second... all eighty monsters were annihilated.

The ground trembled.

The sphere cracked.

And then it faded, like mist under sunlight.

The angel stood alone once more.

No blood on his blade.

No scratch on his armor.

He looked toward the edge of the field, where León held Jason, speechless.

The angel simply nodded… and disappeared in a flash of light.

Rain begins to fall and a bloodbath surrounds the battlefield. But among this blood was another man with a masked face... who was walking towards Leon and Jason who came from the future.
