Chapter 28 - CHAPITRE 28 : The Awakening of the Sacred Bond

Ezean stood still, his presence vibrating like a pulse through the spiritual dimension. His eyes, deep as eternity, observed the three travelers—Léon, Jason, and the loyal guard—with a calm intensity. The first trial had shaken their bodies, the second had pierced their souls. But what was to come would test the truth of their bond.

A vast circle of light formed beneath their feet, and suddenly, the space around them bent. The scenery dissolved into a new spiritual arena—a place where only the depth of their connection would count.

Ezean's voice echoed:

"This final trial is not about strength… nor courage. It's about the invisible thread that binds you. If that thread breaks, you will disappear from each other's memories—forever."

Suddenly, each of them was separated—teleported into a different illusion. Léon found himself in a world where Jason had never existed. Jason, in turn, faced a world where Léon had betrayed him. The guard? He wandered a dimension where he had failed to protect them both, again and again, haunted by guilt.

These illusions were not just visions. They twisted memories, created doubt, and altered the truth.

Léon began to weaken. His chest tightened. "What is this place? Why do I feel so… empty?"He walked through a destroyed version of the city, voices calling out to him, but no one truly knew his name. A world without Jason… without meaning.

Meanwhile, Jason clenched his fists. "Léon wouldn't betray me! I know him!" Yet the illusion showed a twisted version of Léon standing with the enemy.

Ezean watched from above, silent.

But then—at the same moment—their hearts called out to one another.A pulse of energy surged between dimensions. The bond, though strained, held firm.

Léon, whispering in the void: "Jason… you exist. I know it. Even if the world forgets, I remember you."

Jason, falling to his knees, repeated:

"I'd rather die in truth than live in a lie. Léon is my brother. My friend."

And with that, the illusion shattered.

The three were pulled back to the center of the spiritual arena. Breathless. Changed. Stronger.

Ezean descended from above and extended his arms.

"You have passed the trial of the Sacred Bond. Few beings in this realm could hold onto love, loyalty, and memory within the chaos of illusion. But you did. The world has not yet lost hope."

Golden symbols appeared around their bodies. A mark of unity. Their bond was now etched into their very souls.

And deep inside Léon's chest, something had awakened—a sacred fire, faint but eternal.

The silence had settled—heavy and sacred.

The breath of the three warriors was still short, but their gazes had cleared, filled with a new light. The spiritual mist floating around them seemed to have thinned.

Ezean, still motionless, stepped forward slowly—his feet not even touching the ground. His voice echoed without his lips moving, as if it came from the heart of the universe itself.

"It is time you understood what few beings have ever grasped…"

He extended his hand, and with a simple gesture, space tore like fabric. Behind it, another realm unfolded: vast plains of pure energy, beings of living light, souls in eternal prayer, and motionless entities watching the human world from above.

"What you call the real world is but a thin membrane between two realms. The physical world is the visible reflection of what you carry within… but the realm of divine faith—that is the invisible core of everything."

Leon, shaken, asked quietly:

"What I sometimes feel… this pain, these instincts, this inner voice… does it come from there?"

Ezean nodded slowly.

"Exactly. Every human is a fragile bridge between matter and the unseen. But few know it—and even fewer accept it. Emotions, choices, sacrifices… they all create ripples in the spiritual world. What you call faith is not blind belief. It is a vibration. A reality. A force that can bend destiny itself."

Jason stepped forward, his gaze hardened by truth:

"Then… the war we fight is not just against monsters or men. It's against forgetting. Forgetting this truth."

"Yes, Jason. You are not soldiers. You are the Awakened. The Echo Bearers. You have seen what few ever will. And now, the world will never look the same to you again."

Ezean then turned his eyes toward the heavens. A beam of light descended and touched Leon's forehead. An ancient symbol slowly etched into his skin, then faded.

"You are marked by the Convergence. Your soul is connected to the Primordial Breath. You were chosen not for your strength… but for your ability to believe when everything collapses."

A chill swept the air. The ground trembled. And in that suspended moment, Leon understood that this battle went far beyond his own life.He was the living bridge between Earth and the heavens.

The wind had stilled. The silence, this time, was not emptiness… but a sacred echo.

The three men — Léon, Jason, and the guard — stood before Ezean, whose figure radiated a soft, almost otherworldly light. The air was thick with invisible symbols, as if each breath carried a hidden truth of the cosmos.

Ezean raised his hands into the void, and a celestial map appeared: a broken world, laced with dark fractures, shards of light, and shifting forces.

His voice rang out, slow and solemn:

"Listen, for what I am about to reveal no longer belongs to you alone… but to the balance of all realms."

He lifted his hand, and a spark of light descended onto each of their chests.

"You now carry the Mark of Awakening. This mark connects you to the Source. But this gift comes with a sacred responsibility."

A distant rumble echoed, as if the world itself was responding to his words.

"Time is fractured, the future uncertain. A forgotten entity, born from rejection, hatred, and human despair, has begun to rise. It feeds on fear, manipulates the threads of the past, and seeks to shatter the boundary between the living… and the damned."

Jason clenched his fists. Léon closed his eyes. The guard humbly knelt.

Ezean continued:

"Your mission is to find the Three Relics of Harmony: the Breath of Dawn, the Heart of Silence, and the Eye of Truth. Scattered across forgotten lands, they are guarded by the last sentinels of the spiritual world. Without them, the barrier between realms will fall… and chaos will consume all."

He paused, his gaze lost in eternity.

"But this quest will not be made of battles alone. You will be tested in your beliefs, confronted with your fears, and tempted to give up. For this mission is not a war against an enemy… it is a war against what you may become if you lose faith."

Ezean placed a hand on Léon's shoulder and whispered:

"You are the Heart. The link between souls. The one who carries love in the midst of the storm."

To Jason:

"You are the Sword. The force of decision. The one who cuts through doubt in the name of justice."

To the guard:

"And you, you are the Shield. The memory of the ancients. The one who protects what is still worth saving."

A final flash of light enveloped them.

"Go. The world does not wait for you… it calls for you."
