Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Where the Dream Begins

Buzz—!

On the calm blue sea, a medium-sized ship was slowly approaching the Port amidst a long whistle.

Although the city on the coast was very prosperous, and the dock was extremely lively, upon closer inspection, the tourists on the ship at this moment had no interest in admiring the scenery; instead, their attention was all focused on the deck.

There, a Pokémon battle had entered its final stage!

The two opposing Pokémon were Ralts and a purple Rattata, and their Trainers were a handsome man around twenty years old and a middle-aged man in a suit.

In the arena, the intense battle caused Rattata's stamina to drop rapidly. Seeing that it was at a disadvantage and couldn't even touch Ralts's body, the middle-aged man, anxious, couldn't help but shout, "Rattata, quickly get close to it, then use Tackle!"

Hearing this, Rattata seized the opportunity, accelerated its four limbs, and sprinted in front of Ralts, head-butting it fiercely.

However, just as it was about to hit Ralts, Ralts suddenly used Double Team, creating several illusions!

Rattata didn't have time to stop and darted straight through one of the illusions.

Among the onlookers, there were many tourists who understood Pokémon very well, so most people knew that this was the Normal-type move that many Pokémon can use—Double Team!

And by the arena, seeing Rattata stunned in place, looking helpless, Xia You realized that after so much entanglement, it was time to end the battle!

"Ralts, use Confusion!"

As his voice faded, Ralts's illusions simultaneously raised their arms and pointed at Rattata. Then, in the next second, Rattata was suddenly surrounded by a strange light and flew into mid-air!

Even though it struggled desperately, it was in vain and could not break free from the restraint of Confusion. As Ralts waved its arm forward, Rattata's body involuntarily flew backward, and with a 'bang', it crashed into the nearby railing.

The force was so great that the people around clearly saw that the railing had been visibly deformed!

And now, Rattata could no longer hold on. Its eyes rolled upward, and it collapsed weakly to the ground.

The crew member acting as the referee leaned down for a look, then shook his head, raised his right hand, and loudly announced, "Rattata is unable to battle, Ralts wins!"

Hearing his words, the onlookers applauded the exciting battle. At the same time, they were secretly amazed, and even a fiery young woman provocatively whistled a few times at Xia You.

"Too exciting!"

"Wow, this person has already won seven consecutive battles, right?"

"Exactly! And this Ralts hasn't taken any damage from beginning to end; it's truly amazing!"

With praises filling his ears, Xia You remained calm. He walked in front of Ralts, first affectionately stroked its head, and then approached the middle-aged man.

The two men shook hands gently. After observing Ralts for a few moments, the middle-aged man couldn't help but praise, "Your Ralts is truly well-trained! I admit defeat wholeheartedly in this battle!"

"Your Rattata is also very good." Xia You maintained considerable friendliness towards his defeated opponent and returned the compliment, "I hope we have a chance to meet again next time!"

The middle-aged man shook his head with a wry smile and then stepped aside.

Seeing him leave the arena, the surrounding tourists looked at each other, wondering who else would come forward to challenge this handsome young man!

However, just as several Trainers were eager to try their luck and rushed to the arena, Xia You suddenly took a step back.

"Sorry everyone, although I'd love to keep battling, it's clear that our destination for this trip has arrived. It's time for us to disembark!"

Hearing him say this, the tourists quickly turned their heads and realized that, without them noticing, the ship had already docked!

...

Warm and bright sunlight shone over the city. Waves, pushed by the constant surge of the sea, tirelessly washed against the narrow breakwater.

Looking out at the sea level, all that met the eye was a vast expanse of blue. The sea and sky merged into one color, and the entire world seemed like a giant mirror.

The moist, salty, and gentle sea breeze felt incredibly comfortable on the skin.

This was a crucial Port in the Kanto region, a southern city bathed in the orange glow of the setting sun—Vermilion City!

When Xia You stepped out of the cabin and set foot on this familiar yet strange land, he still couldn't contain the Joy in his heart.

Ash, Xiao Xia, Brock, Pikachu, Professor Oak, Kanto region, Indigo League... From his childhood in his previous life, he had too many memories here. He never imagined that one day, he would actually come here!

To be fair, even though several months had passed since he arrived in this Pokémon world, it still felt somewhat unreal whenever he thought about it.

By his feet, sensing his Trainer's mood, Ralts also let out a soft cry.

Looking at it, Xia You chuckled, "Alright, although we've arrived in the Kanto region, before challenging the Indigo League, we should first register our challenge qualification at the Pokémon Center."

Leaving the Port, Xia You took out his phone, opened the map, and followed the road towards the Pokémon Center in the city center.

Along the way, Trainers with Pokémon occasionally moved through the city. Throughout the entire world, these Pokémon, whether for entertainment, food, delivery, or security, had long been integrated into people's lives. They were indispensable partners in daily life; if they were gone one day, that would be truly abnormal.

However, many people still cast curious glances at Ralts beside Xia You.

There was no helping it; Ralts was simply too rare for the people of this region!

Its green hair, like half a cabbage, just covered most of its face, and its white body looked like it was wearing overly long pants.

As a Pokémon not from the Kanto region, Ralts naturally attracted a lot of attention. Even in other regions, it was actually a relatively rare species, and not many Trainers owned one.

Ignoring the gazes of others, when Xia You entered the city center and walked a few more blocks, he saw the entrance of the Pokémon Center from afar.

When he entered the lobby, he saw Miss Joy, with pink curly hair and dressed in a nurse's uniform, organizing documents at the front desk. Seeing Xia You, a friendly professional smile appeared on her face.

"Hello, this is the Pokémon Center. How may I help you?"

"Hello, Miss Joy." Looking at her, Xia You's memory momentarily wavered, then he immediately came back to his senses and smiled, "I'm here to challenge the Shiying Conference. Please help me register my challenge qualification."

"Okay, I understand." Miss Joy pointed to the computer screen beside her, "Then please scan your Pokédex here first."

Xia You nodded, took out his Pokédex from the inside of his jacket, and placed it on the computer. In the next second, his information appeared on the screen, and at the same time, an electronically synthesized male voice came from the computer.

"Xia You from Vaniville Town in the Kalos region has completed the Indigo League registration. Current gym badge count: 0. We wish you a successful battle."

"Kalos region?" Hearing the announcement, Miss Joy looked at Xia You with some surprise and remarked, "That's truly a distant place!"

"Indeed." Xia You nodded slightly, speaking with a double meaning, "It truly wasn't easy to come to this land."

Just as the two were talking, a plump Chansey suddenly walked over from the side.

It was holding a box with the Indigo League logo printed on it and walked step by step in front of Xia You.

Miss Joy made a gesturing motion and smiled at him, "For Trainers who complete the registration process, we provide a gym badge collection box. This is yours, please accept it."

Xia You looked down at it.

It looked like just an ordinary box, nothing special about it, and it didn't seem particularly valuable.

He thanked her, took the box, and then asked, "Oh, by the way, Miss Joy, I'd like to ask, my Pokédex still has data from the Kalos region. Can it be upgraded to a Kanto region Pokédex?"

"I'm really sorry..." Joy hesitated, then shook her head, "We can't operate on Pokédexes here. If you want to upgrade it, you might want to go to the Sakuragi Research Institute in this city, or Professor Oak's Laboratory in Pallet Town to the west, and ask these two professors for help. I think they would be very willing!"
