Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Captive.

Iklem, Dremeria, Postier's Home base.

The helicopter touched down at the helipad in Iklem, The team rushed into the building, not wanting a chance to be seen by possible spies in the hill.

"Put her in the holding cell, the foam should be disintegrating any moment now." Paige said as she greeted them at their arrival.

"You're all screwed. I hope you know that. Kassinger will be coming for me." Missy spat through the mouth hole in the foam.

"Shut up. You will be dealt with accordingly." Taz ordered.

"You have no idea of what you just started! Kassinger will-." Missy ranted but was interrupted when Emily placed a device on the foam of Missy's head. A shield of energy formed around her head, muting her.

Hernando walked into the compound where he stopped in his tracks as he watched the rest of the team march Missy towards the detention center.

Hernando found himself questioning his life choices.

Hernando walkee into a room where he grabbed a cup of coffee and sat at the table in the room. A distraught look formed on his face.

"I know it's tough for you, but I need you to understand. She has become a real problem for all of us. Hell the Battle of Utopia wouldn't even be happening if it weren't for her." Hansel counseled.

"I know, but I can't help feel like I done something wrong." Hernando said.

Hansel walked around the table. He picked up a ornament to inspect it. "You know, when you came to me. You told me all about the hard life you lived in Kassinger. Of how you refused to join their ranks, instead became a petty crook in the underground. You also told me about the time you and a child-hood friend made a pact to squeeze as much out of the government as possible, even if you have to steal it." Hansel preached "But then one day, it all went wrong. You were split up. You landed in my lap, and she ended in Kassingers."

"I'm not seeing your point here." Hernando said confused.

"My point here is. People change. People move on. We have to let go of the past, and look into the future. She chose Kassinger, she carried killed so many men, some deserving, some innocent. People are dying, and we need to fabricate a future where the bloodshed ends. And we cannot do that if we let our pasts hold us back." Hansel said.

Hernando stood silent for a second, processing the words he had just received. "May I see her?" he asked.

"I don't see why not." Hansel said.

Hernando walked into the detention center, where he could see Missy, still peeling off the foam off of her skin.

Missy noticed Hernando but ignored him.

"I'm sorry about this." Hernando spat out.

Missy huffed before letting out. "No you're not."

"Missy, I thought you were in prison-." Hernando pleaded.

"And I thought you were dead! I thought you died! Excuse me if I'm not so receiving to finding out that my best friend joined the enemy." Missy said.

"Enemy? I thought it was me and you against the world? I thought the plan was to overthrow Kassinger one corporation at a time? I thought the goal was to feed our people? Our people starved! Are you telling me you support the man that did that?" Hernando begged.

"He showed me self acceptance. Pride. Power. He showed be a better path." Missy stated.

Defeated, Hernando looked at the ground and said. "and that path is what led you here. Waiting to face justice for the crimes that you so willingly committed. I hope you're happy." Hernando said disappointedly.

"This isn't over! Me and you! We still have a lot of catching up to do! Do you hear me!" Missy called out as Hernando shut the door behind him.

A hour had passed. Hernando found himself in his quarters, thinking to himself.

*Knock* *Knock"

Hernando rolled out of his bed and opened the door.

Taz and Emily waited outside.

"Hey, Garetiaz, we were just wondering how you were holding up." Taz said, obviously ushered by Emily to tag along.

"I'm fine, really." Hernando assured.

"Right. Can we talk?" Emily said.

Hernando contemplated for a second and then stepped aside. "Come on in."

The two sat down on the extra sofa in his Hernando's room.

"What do you want to talk about?" Hernando asked.

"We were wanting to know how you felt about Missy. See, I bet Taz that you were lovers." Emily said.

Stunned, Hernando let out a laugh. "No, nothing like that. We go back yes, but it was strictly business. Why would you even ask that?" Hernando defended.

"I'm sorry Hern'. We had to know. You've always been a lone wolf, trust hard to come by." Emily said in regret.

Hernando collected himself from a sudden strike of offense. "I get it guys. I promise, that I am on your side. Don't you think that if I were to turn on you, it would have been easy?" Hernando said.

Emily sat in silence. "You're right. It would have been. Easy" Emily said. A look of unease grew on Emily's face.

Taz noticed "What is it?"

"Easy. Yerma. It was too easy don't you think?" Emily said.

"Blowing up an entire town doesn't sound that easy." Hernando said.

"No, I mean, capturing Missy. She's known as the world's greatest assassin. Not to mention the fact that Kassinger's forces seemed light. Its as if, it was planned." Emily said, concern growing in her tone with each word. "Oh God." Emily stood up and ran out the door.

Taz and Hernando followed her to the conference room.

"Richard! We havr a problem!" Emily said.

A explosion rang out from out side the building. The electricity surged and shut off, the backup protocols faking effect.

A shocked Dickhead stopped what he was doing and ran to the gun locker, the rest did the same. Gunfire could be heard ringing in the halls.

"To the Detention Center! Now!" Hansel ordered.

The group took off towards the Detention center. This is where the gunfire seemed to be coming from.

Dickhead, Emily, Taz and Hernando raced down the halls. They only found bodies when they entered the Detention. Her cell doors had been blown right off the hinges.

"Fuck where did she go?" Taz yelled out.

More gunfire could be heard down the halls. In fact multiple sources.

"This way!" Dickhead ordered. "All Units, we are under attack. Reinforcements are in immediate need."

Missy could be seen dismantling Postier's soldiers down the hall.

"Missy!" Hernando yelled out, catching her attention. She looked back at them and then opened fire.

"Good going!" Dickhead said as he took cover.

Missy then threw something at the ceiling tile, and shot a wire out of her E-Tap and propelled into the rafters above.

"Shit! She's gone!" Taz said as he ran up to catch Missy.

"We got bigger problems here!" dickhead said as he noticed Kassinger's men coming from both sides of the hall way.

"Lift me up! I'll go after her!" Hernando demanding. Dickhead and Taz opened fire on the soldiers.

"Taz! Help him up!" Emily ordered as she switched spots with Emily. Taz his hands and Hernando used them to lift himself into the rafters.

"Now me!" Emily demanded. She too jumped into the rafters. Hernando caught her hand ans pulled her up. Hernando held his hand out to get the others.

"You two go! We will hold them off!" Dickhead ordered.

"But-." Emily pleaded.

"Just go!" Dickhead ordered.

"I don't know which way she went. You go that way, and I will go that way." Hernando suggested.

Emily nodded and began her search. Hernando began crawling down his path.

He heard a bunch of gunfire, and bodies thumping as they hit the floor.

He came to a vent where he could see into the halls below. Dickhead and Taz raced by, running into more soldier. He kept going. Bullets ripped through the tile as he crossed overhead of Dickhead and Taz, as soldier were down the hall. Hernando shuttered but stayed his path.

Eventually Hernando came to a tile that was kicked out.

"Must be this way." Hernando said to himself. He dropped down to find himself in the conference room.

Hernando found himself in the conference room. Missy had something in her hands.

"Drop it." Hernando said.

Missy froze and slowly turned around. "At me? You're pointing a gun at me? She asked.

"I am. Now drop it." Hernando demanded.

"How cute. You wont do it." Missy taunted.

"Don't tell me what I will and won't do!" Hernando yelled.

"Want to know how I know you won't do it? Because you are inexplicitly, undeniably in love with me. I've always known you know." Missy taunted.

"Shut up! It's not true!" Hernando screamed.

"All those missions. All those chances you had, passed up because you were too afraid. Afraid of breaking our friendship." Missy continued.

"Shut up! I will do it!" Hernando yelled, his voice breaking.

"Then do it!" Missy demanded.

Hernando held his gun, pointed directly at Missy's head.

"AHHHHH!" He screamed and then lowered his gun.

Missy chuckled and walked towards Hernando. "See, I told you, you wouldn't do it. I am sorry about this. I really am. Maybe when this all over, we can find each other and make amends." Missy said as she walked pass Hernando and out of the room.

A moment passed as he realized what he had just done. "Wait!" he yelled and darted towards the door Missy disappeared behind. Instead he was met with a gun to his face.

Hernando slowly backed up.

"Sir, we have Garetiaz. What do we do now?" A soldier said into his E-Tap.

"Eliminate the threat." Kassinger's voice could be heard from the E-Tap.

The soldier raised his weapon and fired. Hernando felt a burning sensation in his chest, he grabbed his chest to find blood covering his hands.

Hernando fell to his knees, the Soldier raising the gun to fire the final blow. This is when other gunshots rang out and the soldiers were ripped apart by the incomint bullets.

Emily ran to Hernando and dragged him so he could sit against the wall.

"I'm sorry." He said as he coughed up blood.

"don't try to speak." Emily said.

"Is it bad?" Hernando asked. Emily didn't answer. Hernando laughed and said. "Sh. She- she got it. I'm sorry. I froze." Hernando said.

Emily took a rag and pressed on Hernando's chest. "It's okay. CAN WE GET A MEDIC!" Emily screamed.

"All units keep a lookout for Missy Rahn. She is in possession of vital contents." Dickhead said into his E-Tap.

"Sir, the compound is all clear." A voice said.

"Find her! She is somewhere in the compound! Now!" Dickhead said.

"She's gone. You won't catch her." Hernando said. "I'm glad that I got to work with you these past few years." Hernando said.

"As it was with you." Emily said, grabbing Hernando's hand.

"I know we didn't click much but can you do me a favor?" Hernando asked.

"Anything." Emily said.

"You go get the Drive, and end this." Hernando wheezed.

"Hernando, you're going to be with us when we do it, just hold on!" Emily said.

Hernando looked at Emily sincerely. "There's one last thing you should know. Missy she's." Hernando coughed. "She's-."

Hernando couldn't finish the sentence as that was the last breathe he ever took.
