Chapter 104 - Devotion: 3

"What is it?" Sonera tilted her head, staring down at the dusty staircase.

"You'll see." Lila smiled. "I just wanted to give you first look, so you can plan something with Lunae."

"She's with Ivy."

"Hopefully. Would be kinda awkward if she found us here."

Sonera stepped onto the shaky walkway, confusion flickering in her eyes as she scanned the horizon. She didn't seem to grasp the concept of collecting antiques. That much was obvious to Lila.

"Uhh." Lila scratched her chin. "It's...like a museum."

Sonera gave a robotic response. "I see."

"For Earth."

"Yrix gathered all this?" Sonera huffed angrily. "She stole it?"

"Well... yeah...but there's a lot of cool stuff here."

A fair portion of the relic collection was new to Sonera. Her time on Mars didn't lend many opportunities to see record players or ancient clothing. In fact, she barely even studied human history due to her upbringing.

"Just Earth?" Sonera pondered. "Why?"

Lila hadn't really given it any thought, as insensitive as it sounded. To her, human history was limited to just Earth. But the truth was far more complicated than that. Mars, Venus, and various moons all contained their own seperate cultures, distinctly inspired by Earth yet still distinct. But for whatever reason, Yrix didn't seem too interested in them.

"I uhh...don't know." Lila shrugged. "A shame too, I always wondered what Ivy's home looks like."

"You wouldn't want to see Mars anyway. At best, it's a mockery of your planet." Sonera shrugged. "I don't blame Yrix."

"Yeah, but it's weird for her to be so limited...I mean, just look at this place. She's crazy."

Sonera barely listened, wandering the aisles, lost in her own thoughts. The assassin was never one to take in the little details. Something had changed. Perhaps, in her mind, it was the presence of Lila.

Only with her could she begin to understand the concept of nostalgia. Even her own memories were more like a charred vestige of the past. They carried little weight beyond what she lost and what she had to avenge.

"You always were fascinating." Sonera smiled, intertwining her fingers with Lila's. "Maybe that's why Yrix likes you. And your people."

"Oh." Lila blushed. "I uh...thanks."

Her legs swayed a bit, causing the plaid skirt she wore to shift. Whereas Ivy and Lunae strutted around in their flashy custom attire, the two friends, Lila and Sonera, still maintained most of what Yrix had given them. It was odd to even think about the work that went into maintaining a wardrobe of the same outfit for each day.

Yrix doing laundry.

How amusing.

But Sonera was quite fond of their similarity. They both had slim, limber figures and wore their stockings just below their thighs. In a sense, it made them feel closer. At least that's how Sonera saw things.

Her legs were a bit lankier than Lila's, however, giving her just the slightest edge in height - a fact easy to miss in all the action. But facing each other in the dark aisles, the gap became clear. Lila, in particular, was a bit floored by that fact, looking down nervously as Sonera's breath reached her nose.

"I uh..." Lila stammered. "Sonera..."

The assassin's gloved hand reached the pit between her neck and shoulders, forcing Lila to gaze up at the radiant eyes in front of her. The very air around Lila grew thin as Sonera's overwhelming presence enveloped her. Something about that girl's short silver hair, her piercing eyes, and the way she stood so firm left quite the impression.

"You're family now," Sonera muttered quietly. "Know that."

Lila's breath hitched, her lips opening like a latch as one of Sonera's gloved fingers pressed onto her soft oral flesh.

Good thing she got a new pair.

"S-Soner-." Lila muttered helplessly.

She was cut off just as soon as the assassin pressed their heads togethor, sharing a silent moment as her finger slipped into Lila's mouth. It wasn't much of a gag, giving Lila plenty of room to breathe. Yet the way her saliva pooled in her mouth, combined with Sonera's firm grasp, left her in a completely submissive state.

"It's okay," Sonera whispered into Lila's mind. "I'll protect you too."

Sonera's knee shifted upwards, finding its way in between Lila's legs. At that point, the Earthling could hardly stand, kept aloft by a passionate embrace. She desperately needed that lifeline, more than previously anticipated.

"Hah-a-." Lila whimpered.

She jutted back, arching her back as Sonera's knee rubbed against her plaid skirt. Nothing could have prepared her for how relieving it was to be so ensnared. In fact, one might even beleive Sonera was taking notes from Lunae.

"Give it to Ivy. This feeling I sense within you." Sonera breathed in deeply, enjoying a bit of the moment herself. "Don't cower. Show her your heart."

"I-wol-tra." Lila struggled to speak, her words scrambled by Sonera's finger.

Having reached her limit, she fell backwards, fainting into a rescuing embrace. A bit of spit lingered on Sonera's finger as the girl collapsed, nearly preventing her from making the save. But she was far too gentle to simply let Lila hit the floor, and made sure to lower her down safely.

"H-how do you do it?" Lila panted, feeling Sonera as she examined her freckles. "This confidence."

"Embrace it. The mania within you." Sonera breathed deeply, looming over Lila on her hands and knees. "There is no coming back from this. We changed."

"I disagree." The Earthling shook her head. "We can save ourselves."

She squeaked once again, one of her hazel eyes clamped shut as Sonera slid her leg across the floor and back into the Earthling's skirt.

Sonera nearly growled, maintaining her pleasant demeanor. "Then fight for it. Fight for her."

Lila wanted to make a sly joke about locking in and a survivor's mindset, but was swiftly blocked by another probing finger. Still, she understood the message. If she wanted to prove Yrix wrong and catch an heiress, she would have to fight for it.

The girls lay in silence, their flat chests scraping against each other.

They were once again on the same page.

"So do you think it's a nice spot?" Lila whispered into Sonera's mind.

"Yes." Sonera nodded. "She'll like it."
