Chapter 173 - Chapter 173 Plan

At five in the afternoon the next day, Los Angeles International Airport.

To show his sincerity, Obadiah personally accompanied Jason to the airport to welcome the core members of the Joker Organization.

Along the curb at the airport exit, five black Rolls-Royces were parked in a row, forming a scenic line that attracted the gazes of countless travelers. Even in Los Angeles, where millionaires were a dime a dozen, lining up five Rolls-Royces at once was no easy feat. Only a top-tier tycoon had that kind of pull.

Just as the tourists were guessing the identity of the owner, the gang walked out of the airport, blending in with the crowd.

Franklin, Harley, John, Christine, David, and Chloe.

Every single one of these six was notoriously infamous, all of them America's most-wanted criminals. If not for the fact that they had already altered their appearances, the travelers at the airport would have probably been scared shitless and descended into chaos.

Jason walked forward with a smile, gave Harley and Christine a hug, and then introduced them to the organization's new and important member, Obadiah.

The group exchanged simple pleasantries at the exit before getting into the Rolls-Royces by the roadside, heading toward Beverly Hills.

As a veteran of the business world, Obadiah was a smooth operator, well-versed in social etiquette. Upon learning that these "big shots" were coming to Los Angeles, he immediately ordered people to clean his luxurious Beverly Hills villa for them to stay and rest.

In addition to that, Obadiah also sent people all over Los Angeles to hunt down all kinds of delicacies, preparing a lavish welcome banquet. He even thoughtfully presented expensive gifts to each person based on their individual tastes.

With exquisite, expensive food and fine wine on the table, the welcome banquet concluded amidst laughter and cheerful conversation. Obadiah's actions had also won him the initial goodwill of the group.

Who wouldn't like such a sensible good dog?

Tired from the journey, Jason didn't talk about the mission. After eating, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.

In the third-floor suite of the villa, as soon as Jason entered the room, he saw Christine and Harley standing with their arms crossed, staring at him with frowned brows. The scene looked uncannily like suspicious wives interrogating a cheating husband.

Jason was a bit confused. "What's wrong?"

Christine said, "Take off your clothes!"

"What?"

Jason looked completely baffled. Hearing those words come from her, the cool and aloof Christine, felt so jarring.

The two women walked up and, without taking no for an answer, pulled off Jason's outer jacket. A hideous, terrifying wound appeared before their eyes.

"Oh my god!"

Although they had seen it in the newspapers, they were still shocked seeing it in person.

Christine shot Jason a glance, asking in a tone mixed with anger and distress, "Does it hurt?"

Jason smiled and shook his head.

Hearing that, Harley reached out her small hand and poked it.

"Shit! That hurts!" Jason snapped angrily.

Harley quickly retracted her hand, looking aggrieved. "Didn't you say it didn't hurt?"

Jason was suddenly speechless. "No shit! It doesn't hurt normally, but it sure as hell hurts when you touch it!"

Harley pouted and said no more.

"Go lie down on the bed. I'll treat it," Christine said, taking off her trench coat and rolling up her sleeves.

Jason nodded and obediently lay down on the bed. Although the scar on his chest didn't affect his strength, it was truly ugly and seriously damaged his personal image.

Christine extended her right hand, placing it gently on the scar.

The 'Healing' superpower activated, and the wound immediately began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Harley leaned in closer to examine it, like a curious baby. No matter how many times she saw it, Christine's superpower was always incredibly pleasant to watch. She could watch it a hundred times and never get tired of it.

"His injury is very severe. It will probably take five or six hours to finish healing. You should sleep in the room next door tonight," Christine said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Alright." Harley leaned down and kissed Jason, then pushed open the door and left.

Jason, still savoring the kiss, said, "Five or six hours is too long. You'll be exhausted. I think we can split it into three sessions, two hours each."

Christine shot him a look. "If you feel bad for me, then help me upgrade my superpower."

Hearing this, Jason closed his eyes and shut up.

I worked my ass off to save up this tiny bit of points. Is it really that interesting to keep trying to fleece me?

At 11:00 AM the next day, not long after everyone had woken up, Obadiah came to the villa again.

Besides bringing lunch, he also delivered Pepper's itinerary for the day.

As the group sat around eating, Obadiah handed the schedule to Jason and said, "Pepper Potts will be attending a major director's movie premiere at three this afternoon on Tony's behalf. I think this is a good opportunity to kidnap her."

Jason took it, glanced at it, and nodded. "Not bad. Outside of this time slot, she's basically either at Stark Industries or Tony's villa."

Putting down the schedule, Jason thought for a moment and began giving orders. "I'm all that's needed to kidnap Pepper. The rest of you, go to the Hollywood Hills and set up an ambush."

"David, find a sniping position nearby. You're responsible for taking out any helicopters in the air."

"Chloe, you're responsible for setting up the network to live broadcast to all internet users across America."

"John, you stay at the foot of the hill. If any police or military show up, you're responsible for killing them all."

"Franklin, lay in ambush near the summit. You're responsible for finding the right moment to take control of Tony's Iron Man suit."

"Harley, hide far away. When the mission is over, you'll teleport us out."

"Christine, you're tired from healing me, so you shouldn't participate in this operation. Please stay and rest in the villa."

The tasks were assigned. Everyone nodded, having no objections.

The TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles is an iconic landmark and a holy site for many tourists to check in and take photos.

This afternoon, a major Hollywood director's movie premiere was being held at the Chinese Theatre. Countless entertainment celebrities and capital-wielding tycoons came to show their support.

Celebrities and capital!

The combination of these two generates endless topics, which naturally attracts the attention of all the major media outlets.

The guests attending the premiere were all big shots, so the theater's security level was maxed out. Over a hundred private security guards were spread throughout the entire block, and even the LAPD had dispatched officers to maintain order.

At 1:00 PM, the film crew arrived early to set up the venue, and the TV media naturally followed them.

Immediately after, the entertainment celebrities who came to show support and join the fun also arrived.

After the celebrities came the investors who participated in the film's production, as well as the invited capital tycoons.

Generally speaking, the higher the status of the big shot, the tighter their schedule, and thus the later they arrive.

At 2:50 PM, a Rolls-Royce stopped at the theater entrance. An attendant immediately walked up and pulled open the car door.

Tony Stark's personal assistant—Pepper Potts—stepped out of the car.

To attend the premiere, and also to show respect, Pepper had specially worn a deep blue, backless evening gown and had exquisite, light makeup on her face.

Although Pepper was just a personal assistant, everyone knew her backer was the one and only Tony Stark. Therefore, no one present dared to look down on her because of her status.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Pepper Potts!"

The director, screenwriter, producer, main actors... all the key figures from the crew came over, smiling and greeting Pepper.

The director sighed and said, "It's truly a pity Mr. Stark couldn't come. If he had, this would definitely have been the most perfect movie premiere of my life."

Under the title of "Iron Man," Tony was absurdly famous across the entire country. Everyone wanted to take the opportunity to build connections with him and ride his coattails, especially those in the entertainment circle.

Pepper smiled. "Mr. Stark is very busy with work, you understand."

The director nodded in understanding. "Mr. Stark has to fight criminals; he's definitely different from an idle person like me. I'm already thrilled that he could send Ms. Potts to attend the premiere."

The group chatted at the theater entrance for a while before beginning the red carpet segment.

Thanks to Tony's halo, almost all the cameras were aimed at Pepper. Those minor starlets trying to hog the red carpet could stand there for ten minutes and still not get a second of the camera time Pepper got.

Walking into the theater, Pepper showed her invitation and was respectfully led to a seat in the front row by an attendant.

About ten minutes later, all the invited guests had arrived.

The lights dimmed, and the movie premiere began.

*

With all the big shots inside, the area outside the theater became much quieter.

A few entertainment reporters went to a corner to smoke and chat about entertainment gossip. But at a time like this, no matter what topic they discussed, it would ultimately circle back to that big battle between Iron Man and Jason.

Since it was a private chat and they didn't need to worry about being politically correct, the reporters began to pick sides.

Some felt Iron Man had the backing of advanced technology and could definitely kill Jason.

Others felt that advanced technology was no match for superpowers, and the final victor would definitely be Jason.

Just as they were arguing, a whistling sound suddenly filled their ears.

Everyone looked up. A black shadow appeared in the sky, moving at high speed.

"A bird?"

"Shit! What bird in your family flies that fast?"

"Guys, that looks like..."

The reporter's eyes went wide, but he ultimately didn't dare to say that man's name.

BOOM!

Jason descended from the sky. The road outside the theater was blasted apart, sending rubble flying and dust everywhere.

The security guards and police officers turned their heads, staring at Jason's cold, indifferent face.

In an instant, their brains all short-circuited.

Who am I?

Where am I?

Why is Jason right in front of me?

After being stunned for several seconds, everyone took a deep breath and yelled, "HOLY SHIT!"

After yelling, everyone present turned tail and ran, not even entertaining the thought of drawing their guns to shoot.

Watching their pathetic, fleeing backs, Jason chuckled to himself, thinking this is the benefit of having a reputation.

Before, when his strength wasn't overwhelming, security and police would see him and think, I can probably take him.

But now, all they thought was, Fuck, why am I running so slow?

As for fighting back? That was something to just dream about.

Ten seconds later, the entire street in front of the theater was empty, so quiet it was a little terrifying.

Jason walked into the theater entrance with his hands behind his back, as if taking a leisurely stroll.

The last time I came to Los Angeles as a tourist, this theater charged me a $20 admission fee. This time, no one will dare to charge me, right?

After casually dealing with a few attendants, Jason walked to the door of the screening hall.

Through the crack in the door, he could hear the deafening sound of the movie playing inside. It was precisely because the movie was so loud that the rich and powerful people inside didn't hear the screams from outside.

Jason revealed a cold smirk and pushed open the door to the screening hall.
