Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 – Mabui and the Heavenly Transfer Technique (Edited)

Compared to the darker skin tone of most people in Kumogakure, Mabui's complexion was indeed deeper—but her short white hair and curvy figure made her stand out in a uniquely beautiful way.

"The Heavenly Transfer Technique is mainly used to transport objects," Mabui said, addressing Hyuga Naraku and Uchiha Shisui. "If you're thinking of using it to teleport yourself, it's best to give up now."

Her tone was serious.

"The human body usually can't endure the pressure of transmission at light speed. The body might literally tear itself apart during the transfer."

"So far, only the Third Raikage has survived such an attempt."

She spoke slowly, each word meant to discourage any reckless experimentation.

"What's the principle behind the Heavenly Transfer Technique?" Naraku asked, eyes narrowing in interest.

He had studied the Flying Thunder God Technique thanks to transcripts Shisui had acquired.

That technique used specific seals as coordinates, enabling instantaneous movement.

"The Heavenly Transfer moves its target at the speed of light to a destination," Mabui explained. "But only if the caster has a clear understanding of the location."

"So it still relies on spatial perception?" Shisui murmured, nodding thoughtfully.

The caster must vividly visualize the target location to send the object—or person—there.

"You also need incredibly strong defenses," Mabui added, "to withstand the friction caused by high-speed travel."

Naraku connected this with his own understanding of space-time ninjutsu.

"The Flying Thunder God isn't like that," he mused. "It's a direct leap between two coordinates. Instantaneous. It doesn't involve movement through space—it's more like folding space itself."

His Tenseigan-based space-time technique was similar—he created a passageway between two points. Anyone could pass through once the portal was established.

But the price? Immense chakra consumption.

Even Sasuke, in future canon, would master such a portal-type technique—but it drained his Rinnegan and chakra reserves heavily.

Too costly to use frequently in real combat.

"In comparison, this Heavenly Transfer might actually be easier to learn than the Flying Thunder God," Shisui admitted.

Even with training, he could only teleport to stationary Flying Thunder God kunai—moving ones were a whole different beast.

The gap in perception required was immense.

"True," Naraku agreed. "But the Flying Thunder God has much greater potential."

He dropped a kunai etched with the Tenseigan eye symbol onto the ground and formed a hand seal.

Zzzt!

In a flash of electric blue light, Hyuga Naraku vanished—reappearing outside the village walls in the blink of an eye.

Mabui was stunned.

She had just told him the human body couldn't survive such pressure!

And yet—there he was, fully intact.

Before she could even process it, Naraku flashed back beside them again.

"Y-You… You're alive?!" Mabui gasped, her eyes wide in disbelief.

After the Third Raikage, Naraku was the first to survive a Heavenly Transfer using his own body.

"The speed's acceptable," Naraku said casually, removing a pale blue chakra armor shimmering faintly over his body.

He hadn't used Tenseigan Chakra Mode, only layered himself in yin-based chakra armor.

Still, during transmission, he felt the intense tearing force.

Electric sparks had crackled across his body from the violent air friction—but the armor held.

"You've already mastered Flying Thunder God as well," Shisui commented in awe.

"Somewhat," Naraku shrugged. "I still can't lock on to moving coordinates with precision."

His fast mastery of the Flying Thunder God stemmed from his deep spatial understanding via Tenseigan space-time jutsu.

Even then, Minato's advanced versions—like Segmented Thunder God and Guided Thunder Mine—were far beyond reach.

After all, Minato could even teleport a Tailed Beast Bomb or entire units of shinobi.

"You should try it too," Naraku told Shisui. "With Susanoo's protection, you can endure the tearing force."

"Alright, I'll give it a shot," Shisui said, hesitating a little before activating his green skeletal Susanoo and forming hand seals.

"Wait—" Mabui instinctively wanted to stop him. But her words failed her.

Naraku had listened to her brief explanation, boldly used the Heavenly Transfer on himself—and succeeded.

She had expected a mangled corpse… or at least someone gravely injured.

But instead—nothing.

And now, Shisui was about to try too?

Zzzt!

Electricity flashed. Shisui vanished.

A moment later, he reappeared beside the Flying Thunder God kunai Naraku had dropped earlier.

"I… I made it," Shisui exhaled, patting his chest. "Barely."

He hadn't been confident at all—until he actually arrived safely.

"How… how are you learning so fast?" Mabui muttered.

Though Shisui wasn't as graceful as Naraku, he had still succeeded.

"Once you've grasped spatial perception via Flying Thunder God," Naraku said calmly, "and your body can withstand the tearing, the Heavenly Transfer isn't difficult."

There were two main requirements for mastering the technique:

Spatial awareness.

A body that could endure the friction and tearing.

Both he and Shisui happened to meet these conditions.

Mabui was speechless.

Understanding Flying Thunder God? Spatial mastery? Don't make it sound so easy…

Elsewhere—Kirigakure

A spatial ripple distorted the air.

Uchiha Obito emerged from the void, facing Sarutobi Hiruzen.

"Don't think about revenge on Hyuga Naraku," Obito sneered. "He's already a dead man."

Hiruzen frowned. "What do you mean?"

He already knew this masked figure had seized control of Kirigakure's upper echelon—and in exchange for lending support, Obito had agreed to help him eliminate Naraku.

"That idiot had the audacity to settle in Kumogakure with his Konoha shinobi," Obito spat, eyes gleaming with disdain.

To him, it was a suicidal move.

Without any space-time ninjutsu to retreat instantly, Naraku was vulnerable.

"I've seen it myself. Kumogakure's building a chakra cannon in secret. Near completion."

"When it fires—Hyuga Naraku will be the first to die."

Obito's mind flashed to that scene of Naraku lifting an entire mountain into the air like a god.

That kind of power… uncontrollable. A direct threat to the Eye of the Moon Plan.

"He doesn't even realize it yet. But he's already marked for death."
