"Son-in-law. Are you staying the night again?"
Zen paused just inside the doorway and turned his head with a small, questioning look towards Councilman Raymon. Son in law?
Councilman Raymon gave a polite smile and stepped forward, even lowering his head bashfully. Zen gave him a stare. The bashful look did not look good on this man. "Just practising, Your Highness. I hope you do not mind."
Zen's lips lifted in a small smile. "I don't mind, Councilman. But keep it within these walls. It would not be good for your standing if the other Elders heard it. They have already been unhappy about your seat on the council ever since they learned Ramona is our mate. They worry you will not remain unbiased. If you start calling me or the others that in public…"
Raymon immediately lifted his hands. "Of course, of course, Your Highness. I would never say such a thing outside and bring trouble upon you. Please be assured."
Zen nodded and chuckled softly. "That would be best... Father-in-law."
