"Why is he coming here all of a sudden? I mean, we did invite him, but the messenger must have reached him only yesterday, and now he has already almost reached the valley." Councilman Raymon's voice held a worried tremor as he paced the confines of his house after receiving the message of the arrival of a wedding guest.
"Did he race all the way here?" Councilman muttered to himself as he continued, "If I'd known he would really come, at least I would have sent the invitation later. Like after the mating ceremony. But he had declined all sorts of invitations over the past years and I thought it would be the same. What should I do now?"
Ramona watched him, confused. She had rarely seen her father unsettled. Now, he looked genuinely frightened. His brows were drawn tight, and his fingers kept tapping against his side in agitation.
