Emira stiffened at Kael's voice and whipped her head around. He was leaning against the doorway, arms crossed over his chest as if he had been watching them for a while. She blinked, startled. He was still here too? Both of them hadn't left?
She felt Lance lean down and kiss the side of her neck as her eyes met Kael's. And then, behind him. If Kael and Lance were both here then did that mean Zen was here too?
She knew he had been spending the last many nights with Ramona. It was still dark outside so if he was still here, then did that mean he had not gone to her tonight?
But then, as if reading her mind, Lance whispered in her ear, "Zen is not here."
Emira lowered her gaze and nodded. She didn't want to show anything on her face. Did he go to Ramona then? It was foolish of her. Shouldn't she be happy that at least Kael and Lance were still here? Why think about the one who wasn't here?
