Chapter - 3

"…What the hell?!" My mom shouted, quickly stepping in front of me out of instinct—trying to protect me—before realizing the elemental wasn't a threat to either of us.

"How did you do that?" she asked, blinking in disbelief.

She didn't seem to get it—or maybe she didn't want to fully accept that her son had just said the words "I have gacha powers". That was also the moment I realized: more screens were popping up in my vision.

[Tell your mom everything — both about the Hercules Method and the Gacha System.] [ 2 Silver Tickets, 1 Gold Ticket]

[Sapling]

Uncommon Ability

You are able to create, communicate with, and control plants within your range. You can grow grass on fertile ground, make roots dig through cement, ripen plants, slightly change their shape, grow trees fast enough to create natural barriers, and harvest nature's bounty.

Basically, Poison Ivy's powers — which honestly I didn't mind at all, since I was missing something for medium-to-long range. Once I got to a good point with the Hercule method, I'd be unbeatable in close combat at least when talking about superhuman levels and not beyond.

Especially for defense, honestly I remember how at the beginning Luther had trouble dodging bullets at close range. It was also true he lacked real combat experience, but better not to risk it, since you never know what might happen in a world like this.

[Summoning Items]

Common Ability

You can mark up to 10 objects that weigh less than your lifting strength, and summon them to your location at will and send them back to where you last summoned them from.

Fuck, now this is broken with the Herc method, since my strength would just keep growing over time. Also, I noticed immediately one detail that really got me excited.

This thing has no range limit. It's so exploitable with a future costume or even just re-summoning my familiar right next to me in the moment of need, like a proper Shadow Monarch...

Jokes aside, the thing that was without a doubt most useful was the lethal power it gave me to kill someone along with the flexibility in combat.

[Omni Phone]

Rare Item

A cellphone that has everything you need: able to connect to a network no matter the distance, more storage space than you can count in numbers, a firewall that would take a machine an eon to crack, and processing power enough to make a supercomputer blush.

Nice!

Especially in a world like this where people will try to track you down to recruit you or just kidnap you to find out everything about you — which was a kind of insurance that made me feel way more at ease.

Assuming, of course, that any contact I make with others using the phone is encrypted — sending messages or making important calls to the people I care about.

"I… I..." I could barely figure out how to start the conversation about the Gacha, while I stared at the four screens showing the "results" I had gotten.

"Ehm? What's wrong, sweetheart?" My mother asked me kindly, though she didn't take her eyes off my elemental out of fear it might attack us. It was really sweet of her to want to protect me, even though I had proven to be much stronger than a normal human.

"… I just got three more things from the Gacha for talking to you about my powers?" I said after a moment.

"Ah, is that really all? Well, I'm happy for you, sweetheart..." My mother was honestly way too understanding. Even after I told her I had powers, she was happy for me. "I just hope they don't have any kind of negative effect on you?"

"…No." I said, deciding not to get into the whole thing about the Hercules method and the increase in my desire to kill — at least not right now.

"So what did you get?" She asked, trying to make it clear.

"Uh, let's see here… I can create, communicate with, and control the plants in your range. I can mark up to 10 objects and summon them at will. It looks like I've got a Omni phone that has everything I need.

There might be a bit of synergy with another ability that lets me predict the weather in a given area for a whole week." I told her once I'd finished reading the things I'd gained, before turning around and seeing that me mom had a bit of… a stunned expression on her face.

"I always knew you were special, Luther," she said, placing a hand on me. "But never to this point. You're truly my greatest pride, and I'm so happy you stayed with me."

"Uh… alright." I said a bit awkwardly, not really knowing how to respond to her sincere praise for me.

"But if you don't mind, sweetheart, why don't you talk to me more clearly about your Omni phone and the weather prediction ability?" She asked, putting on a kind of confidence that made her even more beautiful.

I had just finished explaining everything to my mom about my ability to predict the weather in a specific geographic area. It was surprisingly nice to see her so engaged in something something she hadn't been in a long time.

Now she had something real to focus on, typing away quickly and confidently at her computer. "So, you can actually predict the weather for an entire week?" she asked without even looking up from the screen.

"Yeah, at least for that long," I replied casually.

She smiled, clearly excited. "I could ask a friend of mine to help develop an app just for this. We could make it available to everyone. And thanks to your phone, we don't even need to worry about the Global Defense Agency (GDA) interfering!"

There was something magnetic about the way she spoke, so focused and professional. It was amazing to see her like this again, as if she had completely forgotten about my father—and right now, the only thing that mattered to her was me.

"That's a great idea," I said. "An app that could detect unnatural weather too would be really helpful, for both heroes and civilians. It could give people an early warning—especially for major disasters. It might even save lives."

She blushed slightly at the compliment, then added, "We could charge less than a dollar a month for it. Cheap but useful. That way, everyone could afford it."

While she worked, I kept focusing on my ability. The visions came almost instinctively. I could clearly see that in three days, something unusual would happen: a small tornado would form and circle around a house in the middle of nowhere.

"Strange... really strange," I muttered, feeling a bit uneasy.

Maybe I should go check it out myself. It didn't seem dangerous enough to call the heroes right away—and I definitely didn't want to run into Omni-Man—but it wasn't something I could just ignore either.

In Asia—specifically Tokyo—the forecast looked calm: a nice day, with some wind and a bit more cloud cover than usual, but still pleasant. Thankfully, no signs of any kaiju attack.

The real concern came from Europe—Paris, to be exact. The city was about to be hit by a magical snowstorm caused by an unknown wizard. A full-blown enchanted blizzard.

I immediately grabbed my Omni Phone and sent a direct alert to the Guardians of the Globe. I didn't want something that big weighing on my conscience later.

[50 Likes] [Bronze Ticket]

[Goblin]

Common Familiar

Disgusting little green-skinned humanoid creatures, roughly the size of children. Naturally vicious and cruel, they're capable of using basic weapons and tactics. However, this goblin is smarter and more self-aware than most. It can reproduce with any humanoid species. Default gender: female.

"Alright… I'm not complaining, but what exactly does 'fifty likes' even mean?" I muttered to myself, reading the notification tied to my new summon.

"Seriously? That fast?" my mom asked, surprised.

I nodded. "Yeah. It's a goblin. Kind of like the ones in those fantasy books Pete wanted you to read—like in Harry Potter." I read through the description again to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Honestly, it wasn't a bad thing. Having the goblin around meant someone would be there to look after Mom while I was gone. She wouldn't have to worry if Dad suddenly showed up while I was away.

Sure, the goblin probably couldn't hold its own against real supers, but it was more than enough to keep her company and maybe even protect her, if needed.

I see my mother leaning against the desk. Her eyes are a little tired after spending hours in front of the computer. Her hair is slightly tousled, but her smile reveals a contentment that makes me happy to see she feels good about herself.

I approach cautiously, not wanting to disturb her. 'Hey, Mum,' I say softly. 'Are you still up for movie night?'

She looks up, surprised by my attention, and nods with a tired but sincere smile. 'Yeah, come on — after all this work, a little relaxation is needed. Besides, it's been a while since we've been able to spend time together.'

'Perfect,' I reply. 'We can pick something you like, so you can really relax.' I see her breathe a sigh of relief as she turns off the computer, puts it away, and walks over to me, taking the remote control to turn on the TV and select the film. Honestly, I couldn't help but take a quick glance at her big bottom before quickly averting my gaze.

A few moments later, she looks at me with a slightly mischievous smile and says, 'I thought we could watch a horror movie.' I'm a little surprised. It's not quite what I expected, especially after such a busy and tiring day. She seems calm and almost amused by my reaction.

'Really, a horror? Are you sure?' I ask hesitantly.

'Yes,' she replies. 'It helps me take my mind off things. Anyway, that's all right, isn't it? After all, they're my favourite kind." I nod, determined to enjoy the evening anyway. After all, it's her choice, and sometimes an extra thrill can help me forget my bad memories.

She smiles and says, 'I thought we could watch Scream – I've actually never seen any of those films.' I nod, intrigued. It's a classic horror film — an unexpected choice — but since I was with her, I didn't feel she was gathering courage for herself; she just needed a way to maintain her confidence.

Throughout the film, she slowly leans into me, the warmth of her body and her closeness surprising me. When a particularly tense scene comes, I feel a slight shiver and she tightens a little more on me particularly her big tits rest against my chest.
