Ultear had never felt so humiliated before—rage burned in her chest, threatening to spill over.
She made up her mind: this incident would be reported directly to the guild master.
"I hope you'll keep your promise." Leaving those words behind, Ultear turned and walked away.
True to his word, Wes Elwin didn't expose Ultear's secret to Lyon.
Instead, he focused completely on studying the magic circle—carefully observing how those wearing purple robes operated it.
The seal imprisoning Ur was weakening with each passing day, and the time for Deliora's resurrection drew ever closer. That day, a single drop of the precious "Moon Drip" condensed at the heart of the magic circle.
Through constant observation and analysis, Wes had discovered that the Moon Drip was far more than a tool to break seals.
It could also purge the side effects of most spells—and once refined into a potion, it could become a rare elixir capable of healing even the deepest magical wounds.
However, the process of collecting the Moon Drip was extremely demanding—each step required perfect precision and consumed an enormous amount of time.
The island itself was nicknamed the "Island of the Moon," a place said to have once been visited by the Moon Goddess herself.
Because of that legend, gathering Moon Drip here was more efficient—but even so, only a few precious drops could be collected each day.
By now, Wes had completely mastered the structure of the magic circle. What he pondered next was where to replicate such a formation.
"The Marvel world won't do—too many powerful beings there," he mused. "But maybe in the Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean worlds… it could work."
His thoughts were interrupted when Yuka suddenly appeared beside him.
"What is it?" Wes asked, clearly annoyed at being disturbed.
"Mages from Fairy Tail have landed on the island!" Yuka said urgently. "Sherry and Toby have already been defeated!"
"So soon?" Wes rose to his feet, brushing the dust off his coat. "Don't worry. I'll keep my word."
"Then hurry! Those guys are almost here—Lyon wants you to stop them!" Yuka pressed.
"Relax," Wes replied with a faint smile. "I won't hold back. I'd like to see for myself just how strong Fairy Tail's mages really are."
"Don't try any tricks," Yuka warned coldly. "I'll be watching you."
"Suit yourself."
They left the ruins quickly, and before long, a group came into view—a pink-haired boy, a blond woman, a black-haired man, and a small blue cat.
"There they are!" Yuka pointed ahead. "Those are the Fairy Tail mages!"
The pink-haired boy with sharp eyes, wearing a short black jacket, white scarf, and wristband, stepped forward, flames flickering from his mouth as he shouted,
"You're the ones who turned the villagers into demons, aren't you?! Turn them back—now!"
'So this is Natsu… just as fiery as the stories say.'
'Then that shirtless kid must be Gray, and the blonde woman—Lucy.'
The trio was so distinctive that, even with the differences between fiction and reality, Wes recognized them instantly.
"What are you standing around for? Stop them already!" Yuka barked.
"I'll take care of the boy and the girl," Wes said, pointing toward Natsu and Lucy, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
He had already witnessed Ice-Make Magic, and now found himself deeply intrigued by the Dragon Slayer Magic that wove through the entire story. He wanted to see for himself just how powerful such a technique could truly be.
"Sure, then leave that exhibitionist to me," Yuka said calmly.
"You bastard! I'm not an exhibitionist!" Gray's face flushed crimson as he snapped back, "I just don't know why my clothes keep disappearing all the time, that's all!"
"Isn't that exactly what an exhibitionist would say? You indecent little punk!" Yuka mocked mercilessly. "Is Fairy Tail full of weirdos like you?"
"You bastard…" Gray pressed his right fist into his left palm. "Ice-Make: Hammer!"
A massive ice hammer materialized in the sky, radiating a freezing aura as it came crashing down toward Yuka, who had thoroughly provoked him.
A shimmering green barrier appeared above Yuka's head. Though thin as glass, it effortlessly blocked the heavy ice hammer with a crisp, ringing clang.
"You're using the same magic as Lord Lyon," Yuka said in surprise.
"Lyon?" Gray paused briefly when he heard the name. "Lyon is here on this island too?"
"Hmph." Realizing his slip, Yuka's face darkened, and he snorted coldly, refusing to answer further.
"I'll make you talk!" Gray shouted furiously. "You'll tell me everything you know!"
"Such arrogance." Yuka sneered, spinning swiftly on his heel before vanishing into the dense forest.
"Get back here!" Gray yelled, charging after him.
"Gray, don't fall for it!" Lucy called out from behind. "We don't even know how many enemies there are!"
But Gray's figure had already disappeared into the trees, leaving only the sound of his fading footsteps.
Lucy sighed helplessly and turned—only to find herself facing Wes Elwin.
"Still worried about your friend, little girl?" Wes said with a faint smirk, twirling his wand effortlessly between his fingers. "Your opponent is me."
Lucy took a deep breath, carefully sizing up the man before her.
He was strikingly handsome—so much so that it was hard to look away. There was a subtle amusement in his eyes that made her heart skip.
She couldn't help but think, What a gorgeous guy… I wonder if he has a girlfriend.
Putting on her bravest smile, Lucy tried to use her words to hold him off. "Listen, handsome, I suggest you move aside. You're dealing with the famous Fire Dragon Natsu. He's not someone an ordinary man can handle."
"That's right! Natsu's super strong!" Happy raised his tiny paw proudly, his eyes glowing with admiration.
"Ha-ha!" Natsu laughed, puffing out his chest. "You got that right! I'm awesome!"
Wes pointed his wand straight at Natsu, his voice calm yet edged with challenge. "Oh, I know. That's why I've been wanting to witness the legendary Dragon Slayer Magic for myself."
Natsu, thinking Wes was just flattering him, scratched his head awkwardly. "He said I'm famous!"
Lucy and Happy, however, didn't share his levity. Their expressions turned serious.
Lucy quickly assessed the situation in her mind while keeping her eyes fixed on Wes's every move.
This guy knows how strong Natsu is, yet he's completely unfazed… he's definitely not someone we can take lightly.
"Natsu, be careful," Happy warned, his usual playful tone gone as he hovered beside his partner's shoulder.
