Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Gravity

Wes made no effort to hide anything.

"However, this isn't the only magic I can use."

"Oh? That makes things even more interesting."

Hearing this, Bluenote removed his white robe and took up a combat stance. "Then show me your true strength."

Although Wes spoke casually, inwardly he didn't dare relax for even a moment.

He was facing Bluenote in his prime—whether it was magic power, combat skill, or even mentality, the man was flawless in every aspect.

Suddenly, Wes felt the gravity around him lighten, and his body involuntarily began to float.

[Hmm~ He lowered the surrounding gravity.]

Taking advantage of the sudden weightlessness, Bluenote closed the distance between them in a straight line, aiming a punch at Wes's face.

Wes reacted immediately. Magic surged through his body, erupting into roaring black flames. The fierce blaze wrapped around him, forming an intensely hot protective barrier.

"Hss!"

Forced back by the scorching flames, Bluenote withdrew his attack mid-strike, flipping away to the side and narrowly avoiding being burned to ash.

But he didn't stop. Adjusting his posture mid-air, he launched another attack the instant he stabilized himself—the atmosphere grew tense.

"Gravity Strike."

He pressed his palms together and horizontally applied gravity magic to the air.

The ordinary air was given substance and life, forming two massive air cannons that shot toward Wes from both sides.

His movements flowed smoothly—seamless, without a single hitch.

[His control over his body is already at this level?]

Wes marveled at Bluenote's bodily control—something he himself couldn't imitate.

Even so, he still handled the attack without trouble.

Wes used Teleportation, vanishing from his spot and easily evading the clamping air cannons. When he reappeared, he was already at Bluenote's flank.

Channeling his magic, he transformed the black flames into a ferocious tiger that roared and pounced at Bluenote.

Bluenote pushed forward with one hand—the air cannon collided with the flame tiger, and though the tiger resisted fiercely, it was eventually shattered.

"Black flames? Isn't that the same as Zancrow's fire?"

"It's different," Zancrow replied arrogantly, his messy golden hair swaying. "My Fire God Slayer Magic is way stronger."

"How interesting… just how many kinds of magic has this newcomer mastered?"

"Learning many types of magic doesn't necessarily make someone strong."

The debate among the spectators continued nonstop, but it didn't affect the intense battle between Wes and Bluenote in the slightest.

[Gravity magic is strong indeed… but can your gravity withstand this move?]

Wes shouted, "Tempest!"

In an instant, countless razor-sharp wind blades materialized out of thin air, surrounding Bluenote from all directions.

Each wind blade was sharp enough to slice through steel, and there were so many of them that they sealed off every possible escape route.

Whoosh~

A single wind blade sliced through the air.

Whoosh~

Whoosh~

Then all the wind blades activated at once, releasing a chorus of sharp, cutting sounds.

Facing the overwhelming barrage of wind blades, Bluenote steadied himself. He raised his left hand upward and lowered his right hand downward.

Between his palms, magic gathered and formed a pitch-black sphere.

"Distortion."

As soon as Brunotte whispered those two words, a powerful cyclone began to form around him, growing stronger and stronger until it transformed into a massive tornado.

The gigantic tornado deflected every incoming wind blade, nullifying Wes's attack on the spot.

The wind blades that were flung away sliced nearby rocks cleanly in half—the resulting surfaces were so smooth they shone like mirrors under the sunlight.

Some wind blades even flew toward the Seven watching from afar, but of course, they weren't amateurs; each of them easily handled the blades with their own abilities.

[His understanding and mastery of gravity has already reached an incredibly deep level… then I'll just crush him with pure magic.]

Wes slowly floated upward, chanting a spell in mid-air.

Gurgle…

At first, only a few thin streams of water gathered on the ground.

As Wes shifted his hand movements, the trickles grew thicker and more abundant. Eventually, the entire place began to tremble, as if invisible hands were stirring up the water deep beneath the surface.

The spectators were shocked and began whispering:

"What's happening?"

"What magic is this?"

While their confusion grew, the gathered floodwater had already expanded to cover the sky, making it look as though a massive gray curtain hung overhead.

The muddy torrent surged forward like a raging dragon, roaring as it advanced, devouring everything in its path.

The churning waves carried chunks of stone, accompanied by a deafening rumble.

In the midst of the raging flood, Bluenote looked like a speck of dust at the center of a storm—small and solitary.

Yet instead of fear, he seemed wildly excited.

"This is incredible… then I'll take this head-on!"

His voice was drowned out by the furious roar of the flood.

He clasped his hands in a stance like one preparing to unleash a massive blast. Veins bulged on his forehead.

He pushed so hard that his feet dug a deep hole into the solid ground beneath him.

"Super Gravity Sphere!!"

It was as if he was truly pushing against a mountain—this was his strongest move.

By concentrating gravity into a single point, he triggered a gravitational collapse, forming a black hole.

This black hole could devour all matter and radiation; even light could not escape its pull.

The endless torrent of water was sucked into the tiny black void, disappearing without a trace.

Its suction was overwhelming—the surrounding air and light were distorted, and the entire space became unstable.

As long as Brunotte had enough magic power, the "Super Gravity Sphere" could swallow everything in existence.

But his magic was not infinite.

Just as Brunotte was feeling triumphant, Wes appeared silently behind him.

"It's over."

Bluenote instantly felt danger. If he stopped the spell immediately, he could preserve some strength and continue fighting Wes.

But Bluenote was a proud man. If he couldn't withstand Wes's attack head-on, he would carry that shame his entire life.

"It's not over yet!!"

Bluenote roared. How could he lose to this newcomer? His pride simply wouldn't allow it.

Determined to prove his strength, he drained the very last drop of magic in his body, pushing the "Super Gravity Sphere" to its absolute limit. The black hole's suction reached its peak.

"You're really stubborn."

Wes raised his wand and aimed it at Bluenote.

"Freeze."

A chilling aura burst from the wand's tip, freezing the entire battlefield.

Not only Bluenote—but even the raging flood itself was frozen in that instant.

The rocky terrain transformed into a sparkling field of ice, and all the noise vanished into a serene silence.
