Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A light morning breeze comes through the window, bringing with it the aroma of freshly baked bread and the smell of freshly oiled machines, while the sun's rays sneak through the window, gradually illuminating the interior without disturbing anyone, until the golden rays pass through some closed eyes, which opened, brought out of their sleep, showing a grayish color.

"Mhm...uuaah...Is it morning already?"

Lagier gets out of bed still half asleep and heads to his bathroom, as he enters he flicks the switch, causing the crystal in the ceiling to glow white as it receives the ether stream, filling the bathroom with light.

Lagier looks at himself in the mirror, grey eyes and brown hair, everything in order, he was not that silver light bodied being with fiery white hair and eyes like golden stars that he had been dreaming of lately, even the unruly lock in his bangs was still there, unbeatable despite all the battles he had against his comb, that wild lock had proved persistent, so Lagier had refused to fight it anymore.

Lagier turned on the faucet and splashed water on his face, brushed his teeth and did his business, after washing his hands he left the bathroom and headed downstairs, before he finished going downstairs, he saw his mother walk by with a nice plate of sausage and fried eggs.

"Oh? Good morning honey, I see you're awake."

Miriam, Lagier's mother, would say with a wide smile on her face.

"Yes mom, today the sun wouldn't let me sleep, it went straight into my eyes".

Lagier would reply with a small amused smile, now more awake thanks to the smell of breakfast, arriving in the dining room he would find his father, Harold, sitting in a chair, drinking a cup of coffee, a little luxury from the Neona archipelago that he got cheap thanks to the contacts he made at work.

'Hi Dad, good morning.'

Lagier greeted his father.

'Good morning son.'

Replied the latter taking a sip of coffee, just after the doorbell rang, Father and son got up, thinking it was Robert, the errand boy who brought them the paper every day, but as they opened the door they saw a tall man, strong jaw, short brown hair and a scar on his cheek, the man was wearing green steel armour, with a symbol on the cape, a green hawk on a white background, The man was a Jade Falcon, initially an order of war messengers, but as there were no longer any wars other than the odd small skirmish by some warlike orc tribe from the Verland plains, northwest of the continent, there were no major battles anymore, so they were the messengers of important messages of high ranking imperial affairs or were hired by especially wealthy nobles who sought the utmost security for their letters.

'(What could a Jade Falcon need from us?)'

Father and son thought at the same time, the man pulled out a letter from inside a magic pouch, which was engraved with different magic circles According to what he had studied in the old family magic books that had not been sold for generations, Lagier was able to distinguish one to prevent someone from reaching in without permission, one to make the internal space wider, and one to automatically search for an object according to the will of the person reaching in.

'Lagier Belerel? My name is Wolf Stirn, I am pleased to announce that you have passed the entrance exam for the imperial academy Larcan, and that furthermore due to your social situation, you have been selected as a suitable subject for scholarship and are presented with 1000 gold arcs for the purchase of school supplies and personal use.'

The Jade Falcon returns to the mechanical carriage behind him after delivering the letter and a heavy bag of money, which went unnoticed by the enormous appearance of the knight, and drove off down the street, when he got far enough away, Robert approached, at that moment, with the newspaper in his hand, after delivering it, he drove off towards the next house seeing that both father and son were shocked.

Miriam had already set the table and breakfast was on it.

"What happened? You guys look like fools right now."

She would say with a smile seeing both father and son with the same shocked and disbelieving expression.

'Mum...I've been accepted into Larcan.'

Lagier would say still in disbelief holding up the white card with the golden insignia of two spears clashing together, at the tip of one was the sun, while on the tip of the other was the moon, the symbol of the prestigious Larcan Imperial Academy.

'And he's got a scholarship of 1000 golden arcs!'

Harold would say, holding like a baby the bag with the same symbol containing 1000 golden arcs.
