Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 – Dungeon war.

"Welp."

"I warned you buddy." – said Ariava.

"The preparation phase is now over."

"And you have yet to attack the beast dungeon….. Honestly, I won't be asking why nor I will be hearing any excuses."

"I will be unleashing the beast dungeon at you."

"You have two objectives."

"Survive and destroy the beast dungeon."

"No more help from me or mercy."

"You better not die." – said Ariava before then leaving the dungeon mater room, not even giving time for the dungeon master time to write its reply.

"…"

(Dammit…. Time passed way faster than I had thought…) – thought nervous dungeon master.

"…"

(Still, I should be ready….)

(I've made 3 golem designs… Even though I was aiming for 5…. But I think 3 will do.)

(But…. Is it enough?)

(I mean, I wanted to do more tests, change designs and everything.)

(What if there are some flaws I didn't noticed?)

(I also think I needed to refine codding bit more….)

"…"

(But there is no time left…. The attacks will come….)

(…)

(But I will defend the dungeon.)

(I'm no longer the "thing" I was before.)

(I'm stronger. The same goes to the dungeon.)

"…"

(Welp… I'm curious what this guy will do.) – thought Ariava while flying above the golem dungeon.

After saying her last words, Ariava flew out of the dungeon and headed straight to the beast dungeon…. And after sometime had passed, the beast dungeon had launcher their attack at the golem dungeon.

"…"

(Invaders have finally came.) – thought the dungeon master as it observed group of invaders that entered the dungeon.

[Great Grey Wolf]

[Grey Wolf Leader]

(Only wolf type monsters?)

(They look somewhat similar to grey wolf… But they are different in a away.)

(Some of them are bigger, while some others have some sort of fur ring around their necks?)

(The one bit fluffier seems bit different in some other areas as well…. And their numbers is noticeable lower than other wolves?)

(Maybe they are stronger monster variant?

 "…"

(Either way, there is a lot of them…. But this is also a perfect chance.)

(First group, move out.)

After wondering a while in the golem dungeon, the beast had finally ended up encountering the golem dungeon defenses.

[Blade Golem] – [Version: 1.2]

[Hammer Golem] – [Version: 1.5]

Two different type of golems confronted the invaders.

The modified version of the blade golem.

And second golem was also a puppet type golem, but this one had much more reinforced and thicker body, while also possessing hammer fist arms.

(Blade golems original design didn't needed to many chances, since in my opinion it was solid.)

(The second golem type focuses more on brute strength.)

(I has power of the dirt golem while also having much higher defense than them.)

(They are much stronger than blade golems, but their miasma cost is also much higher.)

(Still, based on the test the cost is worth it.)

The wolf monsters got alarmed upon noticing the golem monsters and instantly went for the offensives as all of them started charging forward and then leaping at the golems.

However, the golems didn't just stood still.

The golems swung and thrusted their weapon arms, stabbing and smashing wolves that leaped at them, causing serios injuries from the get go.

But even so, the wolves did not stopped and started attacking the golems.

Their claws were able to dig into the golem bodies while their powerful jaws were able rip apart parts of the golem bodies….. But they were not going down.

Their reinforced bodies were not collapsing nor they were getting easily dismantled by the wolves assaults.

Not only that, but each of the golems attacks had very visible effect, ripping, crushing, stabbing or slashing, all of the golems attacks were working and on top of that, some of the golems had even managed kill the wolve already.

"…"

(Huh…. This is…. Abnormal?!) – thought confused dungeon master.

(I know that my golems are way beyond the previous golems I had used… Hell. The hammer golem was able to take down several of my previous puppets, it was even able to break apart the dirt golem body… But isn't this… Too easy?)

(True. My golems are getting damage and some golems had been killed, but overall, I'm winning?)

(Is Ariava by any chance going easy on me right now?)

(….)

(Or maybe these new golems are much stronger that I had imagined?)

So far, it was like the dungeon master described.

The golems are able to stand their ground and not only that, they were winning.

Obviously there were some loses on the golem sides and there were also the grey wolf leaders that were also making their presence known as their attacks were noticeable more effective against the golems.

But that doesn't mean that they weren't getting killed.

Dungeon monsters that live in the dungeon possess fake bodies.

They don't need to eat, sleep or have any important needs.

However, the body is still body.

If you destroy their main organ such as heart, it would naturally result in their death since their bodies were killed.

However, the golems did not need bother protecting any normal human vital areas, since they didn't had them. All they had to do was to protect their cores and not take too much damage in order to not get "destroyed".

Now what about the wolves?

The wolves that invaded the dungeons were fully manifested monsters.

And unlike golems they were in possession of "living bodies", meaning flesh and bones.

They could bleed to death.

They could suffocate to death.

They could exhaust them to death.

They could die in more ways than golems.

Their necks getting slashed.

Their brains getting smashed.

Their hearts getting stabbed.

It would kill them.

The time went by and the here are the results.

Defense successful.

All invaders have been annihilated.

 "…"

(Huh…. I wasn't….. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting this first exchange to end up with me winning.)

(Honestly, I expected enemy to break through my first line of defense… Possible even wreak my second line and then go for the third one…. I also considered a possibility of them coming all the way to the core room…. But I was completely wrong?)

(Was the first wave of enemies just weak?)

(….)

(NO! I'M RIGHT! THIS ATTACK WAS TOO WEAK! THE NUMBER OF INVADERS DOESN'T ADD UP! WHY DID SHE SEND SO FEW OF THEM?!) – thought the dungeon master after finishing counting the number of slain enemies.

(Did she thought that this group of enemies would do?)

(It did took out some puppets, but overall, it was pretty much almost perfect victory?!)

"…"

(Is this a trick?!)

(Does she wants me to let my guard down?!)

(if not, then why did the group of invaders she had send was so small?

(Maybe the second wave will have way more monsters or maybe stronger monster variants will accompany them?)

"…"

(What should I do?)

(Should I focus on the defense?)

(I could use this time to enchant the golems design or create two new golem design to increase variants?)

"…"

(No… Creating brand new golem design that would consume too much time.)

(There is also problem with my enemy not being humans but another dungeon.)

(The longer I wait, the more monsters on their side will manifest, which would allow them to produce more monsters.)

(….)

(But this also the same thing with me, the more I wait, the more monsters I can make…..)

"…"

(Then is there any benefit in waiting?)

(….)

(If I slay the enemy in the dungeon, I will be able to obtain DP.)

(But if the enemy slay my non manifested monsters, I won't be able to obtain DP from their manifestation.)

(Gaining one thing but losing another instead?)

(….)

(No.)

(The enemy won't be on attack forever.)

(She gave me a time limit…. Does that mean she will force me to play the role of the aggressor?)

"…"

(No. I will have to.)

(I need to destroy and devour the beast dungeon before the time limit….)

"…"

(But how should I do it?)

(Thanks to Ariava, I know where the beast dungeon is.)

"…"

(Should I send small forces of monsters and see how they do?)

(But if they just get annihilated, I will just lose monsters and enemy will gain DP.)

(Not only that, but if I send too small group, the enemy will be unscratched and the DP gained will be pretty much free for them.)

"…"

(Should I wait and create as big army of monsters as possible?)

(But that would also give time for them to strengthen their defenses…..)

(What do I do?)

"…"

While the dungeon master was confused on what to do next, it did not noticed a small spider like creature with a human like eye inside the dungeon.

(Huh. So, he dealt with first wave, eh?) – thought Ariava who was using the familiar to see what was going on in the golem dungeon.

(Well, this was expected, since that monster wave wasn't there to win.)

(But he may grow overconfident with his victory…. Well, if he does, then he is stupid.)

(This wasn't an attack.)

(It was a test.)

(When it comes to the war, this guys right next to nothing about it.)

(The reason is quiet simple.)

(He only went with simplest and most animalistic plans.)

(He did experienced war before somewhat, but that mess was beyond pathetic.)

(The enemy looked down on golem dungeon and that surprised caused some deaths among the town forces, but only some and nothing like 1/5 death of the people living there, meaning that he wasn't a real threat, more like problem child to them.)

(Not only that, but his tactics before were basic. Just focus on power.)

(However, when it comes down to the real war, you will need to strategies.)

(Not only that, but adventurers are tricky and they can often adapt to your tricks and traps.)

(You will need to adapt buddy.)

(And you will also need to learn many different things.)

"For example that the first attack wasn't meant to destroy your forces, but instead to see how well you will do."

"And the second attack will be the true first attack."

(Try not to die ♪)

[Sometime later.]

"…"

(Second wave has arrived…..Oh…..Oh…. There…. Oh, this will be much harder.) – thought the dungeon master as he saw the group of attackers, this time consist of much larger force… While also being accompanied by a different kind of monsters.

[Grey Bear]

(A bear type monster?)

(There is 3 of them in total…. Not only that, but the amount of wolves also noticeable increased…. I don't like this.)

The second battle started…. And the results were nothing like the previous battle.

In the previous battle, the golems easily dominated the fight and ended up victorious.

But this time? It was other way alike.

The damage that the puppets were suffering alongside their loses was way higher than before and it was only speeding up.

The number of the wolves made their difference in power clear…. But it wasn't the main factor.

The Grey Bears.

These monsters were nothing like wolves.

They were stabbed with blades and smashed with the hammers…. But they still stood.

Not only that, but their attacks were so devastating that the golems were just being torn to shreds by just one of their attacks.

These three bears were able to easily dominate the fight on their own and wolves who were now in much bigger group were also able to hold their ground and hunt down the golems.

This time, it was a one sided fight from the beast dungeon as the first line of the defense of the golem dungeon was completely obliviated by beasts.

(This isn't good.) – thought the worried dungeon master.

(Those new monsters are nothing like the wolves! They are beyond strong!)

(I knew it! The first attack wasn't real!)

(But this much difference in power?! Isn't this too much?!)

(Did the beast dungeon send out their strongest army from get go?)

"…"

(Or is it just a first wave?)

(Shit…. This isn't good at all….. And this is also complicating things too much….. What should I do?)

"…"

(Dammit…. I wanted to observe bit more, trying to learn enemy strong and weak sides, but I guess there is no time.)

(If other attacks are like this as well, then I will need to eliminate these monsters before it will be too late.)

(I will have to go all out and use "These" golems.)
