The limo pulled up to the parking attendants and the driver rolled down the window and showed the ticket that they were given ahead of time. The attendant blinked before nodding and making hand motions to get them past the parking traffic.
The window closed and the vehicle quickly moved through the traffic. Going past a few people in orange vests who waved them past until they entered into the underground parking garage. Once they were down into the parking garage the limo pulled further into the area with a number of other limos and expensive vehicles.
Rico climbed out of the driver seat and walked over to the back door. Checking the surroundings there were only a number of people in the area. All of them appeared to be the drivers. They were all standing near a set of vending machines and a television. There were also guards stationed near the entrance to the underground garage and the elevator lobby entrance.
He opened the door for them and Jade stepped out first before offering a hand to help Queen Mera. Then she helped Tula climb out as well. Once they were out Rico closed the door and led the way to the doors. Checking out anything of interest he spotted while he walked.
When they got to the door a burly man with a bald head stepped forward and blocked their way. "Sorry but only the guests are permitted past this point. Personal or hired bodyguards can not go up to the VIP boxes."
Rico raised an eyebrow. "We alerted the staff ahead of time. Move or I will move you." Rico told the overconfident bodyguard.
The larger man smirked. "Well plans change." He pointed to a sign on the wall. Rico looked over and saw it was about the sudden removal of bodyguards. "Now get lost-"
Crack!
Rico's arm shot out and hit the bodyguard in the midsection and there was a cracking of bones followed by Rico shoving the man to the side. Then as he collapsed Rico stepped to the side and held out his hands. "Queen Mera, if you would."
Queen Mera blinked for a moment before smiling and walking through the doorway. Past a pair of stunted stadium guards. Then Tula and Jade followed with Rico following up the rear. The person in charge of tickets seemed to awaken from a daze and scanned the tickets that Queen Mera held up.
They walked into one of the elevators with an usher who pressed a button and glanced at Rico. Then after a few seconds when the elevator started going up the usher spoke. "We really were told to not let bodyguards through. But the guard was told to contact our superiors. I already let them know that he picked a fight instead and got laid out. But they will still want to meet up with you. There have been some threats and claims that the terrorists are going to be part of the people in the VIP box. So they want to cut down on the potential threats."
"Then they should have notified us ahead of time so we could make proper arrangements or cancel. The fact that you failed to notify us is on your facility and company. We will not decrease our security for a foreign event where my Queen's safety could be compromised." Tula informed the usher with a grunt.
The usher sighed. Rico felt bad for him, it seemed like they were not the first ones to push right through. But it was not their fault. It sounded more like someone at the top got their wires crossed or intentionally did it to spit someone.
Either way it was not happening.
As soon as the elevator stopped they walked out. Rico could instantly feel eyes on him but could not immediately pinpoint the source. But he could see a short man scurrying over in a hurry.
"Your majesty! I apologize profusely for my security guards actions. If you will follow me I will take you to your seats and then have any drinks or food brought to you." The man explained.
"Lead the way." Queen Mera waved her hand and they began moving.
"The schedule for today starts off with a few songs and typical American pregame events. Then the coin flip and finally the kick off which is in an hour." The man explained, "If you would like, I can have a person explain the sport unless one of your bodyguards would like the task."
"They will be busy protecting me. I would appreciate someone explaining the game to me." Queen Mera answered with a smile as they arrived at the large windowed seats with televisions showing closer looks at the stadium.
"I will get a waiter over here to stand with you and get any food you request. While I am here, would you like any alcohol or food?" The man asked.
Queen Mera pursed her lips before nodding. "Some beers for Tula and myself. As well as some popcorn, extra buttery, and whatever food you were already preparing to serve us."
The man began nodding when Rico spoke. "Jade, go watch the kitchen. Bring it all back at the same time and make certain that nothing is poisoned."
Jade nodded her head then nodded at the man. "Lead the way."
As soon as they were out of earshot, Queen Mera quietly asked a question. "I think you are going a bit over the top with your job. Was it necessary to send Jade to make sure the food was not poisoned."
Rico grunted, "it was. For one, there is that thing the usher in the elevator told us about. Then there is the tracker I found earlier this morning. Finally there are the eyes that are on us. I just can't shake this bad feeling." Rico admitted as he looked out through the window. Looking for any potential snipers or sniper nests.
He would try and find the person that was watching them. But they had to be experienced with the way he was struggling to find them.
