Marisa squeezed out a few well-place tears, her voice weak and trembling as she began her carefully crafted narrative . "Felix is our only son, the solo heir to the O'Donnell fortune." She began, "I never dreamed things would come to this. I don't blame Willow, thought, I'm sure she had her reason for leaving Felix. Even so, I know my son. He would never do anything wrong."

She took a deep breath, pausing for dramatic effect, and then deliberately continue. "While it's true Willow another man, I've known her for years, she always been perpectly polite and well-mannered in my presence."

"There must be some kind of misunderstanding. I implore everyone not to rush to judgement and to stop spreading these hurtful, unfounded rumors."

The instant Marisa's carefully constructed words escaped her lips, the entire rooms exploded into a cacophony of exited chatter ..
