Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: A Grand Gift?

"Its strength surpasses that of an Admiral."

Garp's voice echoed in the small office. Everyone in the office held their breath, their faces filled with disbelief.

Akainu flinched, then thought about standing up to argue with Garp. But recalling how Osiris had instantly grabbed him and thrown him into the sea before, his legs, which had just started to stand, silently sat back down, his face heavy with gloom.

"Are you sure, Vice Admiral Garp?" Aokiji's throat bobbed. He opened his mouth, his face filled with surprise.

He wasn't doubting Garp; it was just that this matter was too incredible. A beast that Ye Chen rode already had the strength of a Yonko? Since when were Yonko walking around everywhere? Any random Red Dragon was now Yonko-level?

"I fought it myself, so I'm very sure," Garp nodded, then continued, "I was suppressed, and it was overwhelming."

At these words, everyone in the office gasped.

Garp was already one of the strongest people in the Navy, and he had even almost killed the Pirate King, Roger, several times.

Such a powerful person was actually suppressed and left in such a sorry state.

"The Red Dragon has Yonko-level combat power." Sengoku broke the silence, speaking softly.

"Agree," Garp was the first to speak.

"Agree."

"Agree."

Everyone saw that Garp agreed, so they naturally couldn't object.

"Ye Chen and the Red Dragon are confirmed. So, that leaves the woman. Zephyr, you speak now. You fought her." Sengoku said softly, looking at Zephyr.

"Ah."

Zephyr let out a soft sigh, his expression a bit complex. He glanced at Aokiji: "As for whether she has Yonko-level combat power, I'm not entirely sure, but she definitely has peak Admiral-level strength. As you all can see, my injuries were also caused by her. And this woman's ability is exactly the same as Aokiji's."

As his words fell, everyone's gaze instantly converged on Aokiji.

"Teacher Zephyr, you're not seeing things, are you?" Seeing so many people looking at him, Aokiji immediately felt the pressure and blurted out to Zephyr.

"Nonsense! My wounds are from ice injuries! Did I put ice on myself?!" Zephyr was already furious after being severely injured by Asta. Now, with Aokiji implying he was seeing things, wasn't that basically saying he was old?

Immediately, Zephyr's temper flared.

"Of course not, but it's impossible! I've been in the West Blue all this time, and I just got back," Aokiji said, looking helpless.

"Then that's strange. Devil Fruits are unique. Logically, they shouldn't exist in a second person," Kizaru said slowly, rubbing his chin.

The implication was that Aokiji was very likely...

"Kizaru, shut up! I'm a man, and the one who fought Teacher Zephyr was a woman!" Aokiji couldn't remain silent anymore. He stood up straight and roared at Kizaru.

"I didn't say it was you!" Kizaru pouted, playing with his crossed hands.

"You!"

"Alright, what are you arguing about? Maintain decorum!" Sengoku roared.

"Alright, I didn't say it was Aokiji either. It's just that their abilities are similar, and that woman wasn't elementalized," Zephyr hadn't expected this group to have such wild imaginations, immediately linking it to Aokiji.

"Then that's even stranger. Logia-type Devil Fruits have always been unique!" Tsuru mumbled to herself.

"That dragon could subdue me without Haki. Perhaps Ye Chen and his group have other abilities," Akainu suddenly said, raising his head.

Everyone thought about it and agreed. The world was vast and full of wonders. Moreover, since Asta wasn't elementalized, that was enough to prove she wasn't an ability user.

"So, it's basically confirmed now: Ye Chen is a quasi-Yonko, the Red Dragon is a Yonko, and the Ice Queen is an Admiral," Sengoku nodded. "We've basically confirmed their strength. So, what do you think Ye Chen's 'grand gift' he spoke of will be?"

At these words, Kizaru, Aokiji, Akainu, Tsuru, and the others all fell into deep thought.

The "grand gift" Ye Chen spoke of was the main topic of their meeting this time.

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, will they attack Marine Headquarters?" Akainu said softly, nodding. "Since it's a grand gift for us Marines, if they attack Marine Headquarters and lose, the outsiders will instead praise their courage. If they win, we Marines will be utterly humiliated."

Akainu's voice resonated, analyzing the situation perfectly. It greatly aligned with the theme of this meeting: a grand gift.

If Ye Chen knew that his words would lead Akainu to mistakenly believe they would attack Marine Headquarters, he would probably die laughing.

Although this Marine organization was a false justice, many people within it were still good. There was no need for him to attack Marine Headquarters.

"Akainu's not bad with that one. I also feel there's a possibility," Zephyr nodded and spoke, agreeing with Akainu's opinion.

"I feel so too."

"Not bad."

Akainu's analysis was very comprehensive and indeed met the criteria for the "grand gift" Ye Chen spoke of. But Sengoku always felt something was off.

Just then, a clear, cold voice sounded: "I don't think so."

As the voice fell, Akainu's face instantly stiffened.

"Vice Admiral Tsuru, what is your insight?" Akainu asked in a low voice.

"First, Ye Chen spoke of a grand gift for the World Government and the Marines," Tsuru said, glaring at Akainu, then continued, "If the (Celestial Dragon) attacked Marine Headquarters, this would have no impact on the World Government; it would only affect us Marines."

"Continue," Sengoku said.

"And most importantly, regarding the so-called grand gift, I just thought about it. Ye Chen's recent activities have all been aimed at the Celestial Dragons. I feel it's very likely he'll make a move against the Celestial Dragons," Tsuru said softly.

"I think that's possible. Ye Chen has an arrogant personality and is a lawless individual. Even if he killed a Celestial Dragon, I wouldn't be surprised," Zephyr nodded. "And most importantly, they aren't afraid of the World Government at all, so I think it's only a matter of time before Ye Chen makes a move against the Celestial Dragons."

"If capturing or killing a Celestial Dragon is indeed a grand gift for the Marines and the World Government." Garp nodded, agreeing with Zephyr's opinion.
