Chapter 3 - 3

We ascended the steps to the venue with poise amd dignity. The hard wood doors opened as we reached the threshold. I looked around and was amazed at the sight. Wolves dressed in black and white strode across the floor with elegance as they served the people attending the event. A waitress came upon our group with a tray of 4 drinks. She effortlessly handed the drinks to my brothers yet when she reached me she hesitated hand in the glass sporting a confused look on her face as she stared at me. I gave a wokfish grin to Dylan and he smiled back taking the glass from the waitress and sending her on her way. I expected Dylan to give me the drink but he downed his own then started sipping on the glass meat for me. I scowled at Dylan and he noticed. 'Hey, when you shift into human form u can have all the drinks you wnat. U til then? They'll be mine. Let's call it big brother tax' I rumbled deep in my chest at him, so not fair.

I always hated these events I had to attend the looks alone were enough to put one on the edge but i powered through it. I knew it wouldn't be long and we would be going home once again. I just wanted to make father happy by attending. Most wolves would only be invited to these events at the age of 18 due to mates nit being able to recognize one another until they received their wolf but the blood moon pack always had a special invitation for any wolf because of our ability to shift early during the blood moon. No other pack had our type of invitation. Most of these events were very boring to me bc most of the people here were adults. No one my age attended. I had been invited to many events but I didn't come to the mating ceremonies because of my age but father thought I was okf enough now to attend. I looked around wandering what I could get into when I heard Dylan gasp like the sir suddenly evaporated. I looked at him in a snap second wandering what caused such a noise. When I saw his face I tilted my head in curiosity. Dylan was pale, mouth agape like a fish out of water and I could smell the sweat coming off of him in droves. I huffed expressing my dislike of the smell. Dylan was stuck to the floor frozen unable to move stating straight ahead. I looked in the direction his eyes had landed and saw a she wolf in a emerald green sparkling dress, her hair was as red as fire and her skin was pale but flawless. Not a touch on her. She wore gold jewelry and smelled good enough but not as good as Dylan seemed to think when he inhaled like he hadn't breathed his entire life until just now. The she wolf had the same expression on her face as dylan and I heard them both whisper 'mate' in unison recognizing one another. My heart beat faster. Dylan had found his mate...but he had a girlfriend back at home. Oh no...Dylan must have threw any caution to the wind, seemingly in a snap judgment he strode fast toward the shewolf breath ragged and uncontrolled, I heard his chest let out a low deep rumble and his pupils dilated all the way, he was no longer in control, his wolf emerged without permission stalking toward his mate. In one swift motion Dylan wolf grabbed the showoff by the hand and pulled her in close enough to wrap his arms around her waste. She didn't fight it. She melded into his body effortlessly and as he nuzzle her neck she let out a soft moan of relief like she had been burned and he was the only thing that could cool her. No sooner than the moan left her lips did he sink his canines into her neck claiming her. The shewolf let out a sound of surprise at his actions then melted m, giving in to the bond.

Wow Dylan, she must smell amazing for it to happen like that. I thought internally.

I was happy for my brother, he deserved happiness. I just knew deep down he was going to have a rough road ahead when his girlfriend and mate found out about eachother. I was nervous for him but fir now I just enjoyed watching him claim what was rightfully his. Although i had witnessed the mage body in play I just couldn't fathom it. To just see someone for the first time and instantly feel this deep profound connection, it just seemed crazy to me. But I looked on with understanding and delight anyway.

Dylan seemed to forget we existed at all, his kiytb never left the she wolf's neck, teeth still plunged deep inside when he picked her up legs straddling him and walked away until he hit a barrier. While he had he against the wall her he retracted his teeth and sealed the wound shut with his tongue, the she wolf gasped and writhed under him in a silent plea. When he pulled away from her, her eyes had gine wide, pupils blown as her wolf had also been present. In another split second she sank her own teeth in his neck and he grunted in pleasure as she did. At this point u decided to look away, it was getting a little too real to watch my own brother make those noises. Next to me daven and Derrick were talking about what we all just witnessed.

'Looks like simeien is gonna be in deeonshit when we get home,' Derrick commented with a hint of amusement in his voice.

'I'm proud for him, I hope this is everything he ever wanted and more.' Said Daven.

I glanced back at the couple watching their retreating forms as they headed upstairs no doubt to finalize the mating. Completing their bond. I huffed in amusement. I looked at Derrick next who caught my eyes.

'OH no, not so fast Brooke, you're only getting to witness one mating pair in this family today. You cant get rid of me that easy' Derrick laughed playfully while I stuck my tongue out in amusement. It would be so cool if both my unmated brothers found their mates today.

With all the commotion my focus didn't even register the stares from every wolf present until Derrick looked harshly at a girl behind me who had made a snide remark. He growled lowly in his chest in warning until she scurried away in fear. Bringing his eyes back to mine he commented, 'Don't listen to then Brooke they dint know you like we do, they're jealous that you're so special.'

'Yea that's why she killed her own mother, blood wolf, she shouldn't even be here with us, she's too dangerous.' Another she wolf scoffed under her breath but we all heard it. My ears flattened in my head, the comment hitting a little close to home. A few others laughed at the comment and that just added to the pain I felt deep inside.

Before anyone could say or do anything else I exited the venue and took off running.

'Brooke!' Daven yelled feom behind me. I didn't look back my heart ached at the cruel Ness of the people around us and I just didn't want to be around then anymore. I couldn't. The venue was in the neiguboring pack, i had been there before once or twice so I started running as I did at home mapping the territory in my mind as I ran aimlessly for hours.

When the sun settled far below the horizon I decided to head back to the venue to catch a ride back home, but not before finding a cliff nearby the river and howling so deeply at the moon I thought I'd lose my breath. The howl was full of emotion, sadness, longing, wanting to belong. It all crashed onto me at once in the howl. The loud sound turned into a soft whimper at the end. I finally stood up and began my run back to the venue. This time I ran leisurely not wanting to rush, taking in the beauty if the forrest around me.
