Chapter 143 - Chapter 143: The Primordial Sea That Can Drown the Entire World

"What have I done? I have awakened the hope of a brand-new world! It will help me construct a true world of happiness!"

Hearing Wallace's furious shout, Archie showed no concern at all. Instead, he laughed coldly, spread his arms wide, and shouted with fanatical excitement.

The awakening of Primal Kyogre marked the true opening of his ideal world!

"Idiot! Do you really think you are capable of controlling Primal Kyogre?!"

Wallace, seeing that even at this critical moment Archie was still drowning in his self-indulgent delusions, could not hold back his anger and cursed outright.

He had always remembered to act with grace and nobility, regarding it as a lifelong principle of conduct. But right now, right now he truly could not endure it!

Not far away, Zinnia quietly stepped back. Her delicate face carried a bright, cheerful smile, and within her eyes shimmered a deep joy.

Kyogre had really awakened. That muscle-brained brute had actually done a pretty good job.

"Ridiculous! I was the one who awakened Kyogre, how could it possibly—"

Archie still held absolute confidence in himself, but before his words could finish—

Another thunderous roar boomed, ancient and deafening, like a call from primordial times.

From the subterranean lake, Primal Kyogre suddenly leapt high into the air. Its colossal body twisted mid-air before crashing heavily back into the water, disappearing into the depths once more.

"Kyogre! Where did Kyogre go?!"

Archie, drenched in the massive splash of water that erupted from Kyogre's plunge, was far more concerned about where his so-called god had gone.

He had clearly used the Blue Orb to trigger Kyogre's Primal Reversion—so why had Primal Kyogre left him?

Wasn't it supposed to obey the command of the one who had awakened it?

"You've brought an unimaginable disaster upon Hoenn! Prepare to spend the rest of your life rotting in prison!"

Wallace could no longer restrain his fury. He roared at Archie, this muscle-stuffed fool whose brain seemed completely incapable of understanding.

Even now, this idiot still didn't realize the truth.

Yes, the Blue Orb could allow one to control Kyogre, but Kyogre and Primal Kyogre are not the same thing!

"Now, are you satisfied? Is this the outcome you wanted?!"

Wallace's anger surged so violently that his chest rose and fell with every breath.

Damn it all! Why were Hoenn's evil organization leaders always such braindead lunatics?

It was one thing to awaken Kyogre, but he just had to throw a super-buff on top, directly granting it the power to escape all control.

Wallace then turned, his sharp eyes narrowing as they locked onto Zinnia, who still wore a smiling face. His voice was cold as ice.

"Rather than wasting your time on me, Champion Wallace, I suggest you look above us. The commotion Primal Kyogre is causing up there is absolutely not small."

Zinnia laughed lightly, pointing upwards as she spoke.

At a time like this, did he really have the luxury to care about anything else?

"Damn it!"

Wallace grit his teeth. In the end, Primal Kyogre was more important. He immediately turned and rushed toward the exit.

Meanwhile, in the depths of the ocean

A massive stone wall was shattered to rubble as Primal Kyogre barreled through, swimming out of the undersea cavern.

The instant it emerged, the once-clear sky above was swallowed in darkness, blanketed by thick black storm clouds.

Within moments, torrential rain poured down in sheets. The calm ocean surface churned violently, waves rising one after another in unstoppable fury.

"WOooooohhhh—!"

Through the dim world of storm and sea came a cry, ancient and boundless, echoing across heaven and earth.

From the raging ocean, a massive golden-and-blue figure surged upward, its twin fins beating ceaselessly as it drifted beneath the dark sky.

One after another, colossal waterspouts spiraled up from the ocean, twisting violently. Countless wild Pokémon panicked and fled in every direction.

Wingull screamed in the skies. Gyarados rampaged on the sea. Whiscash, Luvdisc, and countless other ocean-dwellers darted frantically, desperate to escape the apocalyptic terror looming over them.

Amidst the relentless downpour, beneath the shadowy heavens, Primal Kyogre, its body wrapped in golden-blue radiance, seemed both god and demon incarnate!

The Primordial Sea had been unleashed in its full, devastating fury!

-----------

On an uncharted island nearby, Green disguised in a Team Magma uniform—looked up at the storm-wracked sky with confusion.

"Why did it suddenly start raining this heavily?"

The downpour was too sudden, too violent, utterly unnatural.

Marnie, standing beside her, frowned uncomfortably. The rain had come too abruptly, too fiercely.

"This means Archie succeeded. What we're witnessing now is the effect of Primal Kyogre appearing."

Next to them, Lucas wiped the rain from his face. His eyes narrowed as he gazed at the endless canopy of black clouds. His voice was steady, but grave.

This storm was far too abnormal. Its sheer scale was unbelievable. Even his Dragonair could never summon something this violent.

Which left only one explanation—Primal Kyogre.

"But we can't even see it from here… Could Primal Kyogre's Drizzle ability really extend this far?"

Green was shocked. Their current location was still a great distance from the undersea cavern, and yet the storm still reached them?

Of course, she knew Kyogre's innate ability was Drizzle that much was basic information anyone could find.

"This isn't Drizzle." Lucas shook his head. "Once Kyogre undergoes Primal Reversion, its ability changes to Primordial Sea."

Drizzle and Primordial Sea weren't even in the same league.

"The Primordial Sea has the power to summon continent-spanning rainstorms at will. Within its range, all Fire-type attacks are instantly nullified.

And as long as Primal Kyogre remains awake, the Primordial Sea never ends—it cannot be replaced or overridden by any other weather effect, except by the powers of Primal Groudon or Mega Rayquaza."

Lucas carefully explained the terrifying truth to the two girls.

Weather abilities were already some of the strongest in existence—but the most overwhelming of them all undoubtedly belonged to the three Hoenn overlords.

In comparison, one might argue Primal Kyogre's Primordial Sea had a slight disadvantage. After all, nullifying Fire-type moves wasn't especially impactful against it.

But Primal Groudon's Desolate Land negated Water-type moves—the very attacks it was quadruple weak against! That effectively erased a crippling weakness altogether.

Still, even with that said Primordial Sea remained utterly monstrous.

"This… this is way too outrageous!"

Hearing this, Green and Marnie's beautiful eyes widened, stunned by the implications.

Within its effect range, Fire moves were erased outright, while the storm's endless downpour even prevented other weather effects from being summoned.

That was just far too domineering.

"Wait… if the Primordial Sea never ends…"

Marnie's face paled. A horrifying realization struck her: if nothing could stop Primal Kyogre besides Primal Groudon or Rayquaza, then the storm would continue forever!

Green, though already drenched to the bone, felt cold sweat mix with the rain upon her forehead. She had reached the same chilling conclusion.

"Yes," Lucas nodded. "This is exactly what I told you before. The true terror of Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon."

"If Primal Kyogre is not stopped, then the endless rains brought by its Primordial Sea will never cease. The world will be drowned…

Until nothing remains but a boundless ocean. Everything—everyone—buried beneath the waves."

His gaze lifted, as if piercing through the storm, seeing the ancient golden-blue titan itself. His voice was calm, yet distant, carrying an ethereal weight amidst the downpour.

This was the Primordial Sea. A power capable of ending the world.

"My… my god…"

Green trembled with fear, cold sweat soaking her back. For the first time in her life, she felt true terror on this scale.

Even when she had faced the fearsome Kyurem in the Giant Chasm, she hadn't been this scared.

Because the meaning of these two legends was completely different.

Yes, Kyurem was powerful perhaps even stronger in sheer combat ability than Primal Kyogre.

But Kyurem was a hermit dragon. No matter how strong it was, unless provoked or interested, it would simply slumber away in solitude.

Primal Kyogre was different.

The moment it awoke, the moment it unleashed the Primordial Sea, the entire world was in jeopardy.

Every human, every Pokémon, every building, every last thing would sink into the ocean.

"Lucas… are you certain Rayquaza will come?" Green's heart pounded wildly in her chest.

"Don't worry. Even if Rayquaza doesn't appear, other legends will not allow the two of them to wreak havoc unchecked," Lucas said casually, shrugging without a trace of worry. "Did you really think destroying the world was that easy?"

Yes, Kyogre and Groudon had the potential to end the world. But other legendaries would never allow such a thing.

If things truly spiraled out of control, Lugia, Ho-Oh, the Sinnoh Creation Trio, Zygarde, the Galarian heroes Zacian and Zamazenta—all would intervene.

Not to mention Rayquaza, whose very role was to quell Kyogre and Groudon.

They might rarely meddle in human affairs, but that did not mean they would stand by and allow all life, human and Pokémon alike to be extinguished.

"Phew…"

Green finally exhaled a breath of relief. If Lucas was this confident, then perhaps it would be alright.

"But Maxie is taking far too long."

Marnie glanced back toward the cavern, then turned her eyes to the nearby battleground, where Steven had already crushed the Magma grunts in minutes.

Even with superior numbers, Courtney and her allies were utterly outmatched.

And yet, even now, Primal Groudon had not awakened.

"Looks like I'll have to step in."

Lucas frowned faintly. Indeed, Maxie was too slow. Primal Kyogre had already surfaced—yet Groudon still slumbered. Pathetic. Even worse than Archie.

"Do you still wish to resist?"

With Courtney's group completely defeated, Steven turned his gaze toward the three figures blocking the cavern entrance.

Why did their silhouettes seem strangely familiar?

And then, in the next instant, Steven's pupils shrank.

"Ah… I can't let you disturb Maxie, Mr. Steven."

Lucas chuckled lightly, peeling off his disguise and smiling faintly at the Champion.

"Lucas!"

Steven stared at the familiar youth before him, his brow furrowing deeply.

As expected…

In the end, it would come to a clash with this man.
