TN: Hey guys I'm back. Bout to post the chapters I missed last week.
"Necrozma!"
Lucas's lips curved into an uncontrollable grin as he looked toward the enormous crystal before him.
This was the ultimate Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon—Ultra Necrozma, now in its Lightless Form.
Because it had lost its light, Ultra Necrozma's power had drastically diminished, leaving it in this pitch-black, almost ominous state.
But that was fine. Light was not something that could never be restored. As long as one could channel enough light and Ultra Energy into Necrozma's body, it could once again regain its peak form!
Ultra Necrozma was said to be the strongest of all Legendary Pokémon—at least, that title held true up until the events of the Sun and Moon era. In other words, the legends from the Galar arc weren't counted among those rankings.
After all, Zacian, Zamazenta, and even Calyrex were unlikely to match the overwhelming might of Ultra Necrozma.
As for who would win between Eternatus in its Eternamax form and Ultra Necrozma—that remained an unanswered question.
"Is this it?"
Green and her two companions carefully examined the black Pokémon sealed completely within the massive crystal.
But since it was entirely encased in crystal, they couldn't make out much of its actual form.
"Lucas, are you planning to unseal it?"
Green turned her gaze to Lucas. There was no doubt in her mind—he had come here specifically for this Legendary Pokémon.
"Of course. Necrozma shouldn't be sealed away here. To let such power be buried and forgotten—it's a waste."
Lucas's tone was perfectly matter-of-fact. As one of the beings that stood at the pinnacle of the world, how could Necrozma's strength remain sealed in such a tiny tower? What a pity that would be.
As for whether Necrozma could actually be captured in its current state—Lucas wasn't entirely sure.
After all, light was the source of Necrozma's power. Without it, Necrozma's strength was gravely depleted, and due to its deprivation of light, it existed in constant agony.
But the fact that it could be restored to its prime was all that mattered.
"This crystal seal only restrains it from the inside. Destroying it from the outside won't be difficult."
"In that case, that makes things simple. Moltres."
After carefully inspecting the crystal, Lucas tossed a Poké Ball into the air. With a flash of white light, a dark red, ominous bird spread its wings wide.
The Galarian Moltres hovered above them, its wings rhythmically beating as an eerie flame aura rippled around it.
The top floor of this Ultra Megalopolis tower was spacious enough for Moltres to move freely.
"Well then, help me unseal Necrozma, Moltres."
Lucas's smile widened. Without hesitation, he prepared to give the command.
"Fiery—"
"Stop right there!"
Before he could finish, a voice rang out—tinged with panic and anger—from behind them.
Hearing that voice, Green and the other two women instantly turned their heads. It was a man's voice, accompanied by the sound of hurried footsteps.
A person—no, several.
Lucas arched an eyebrow and turned around as well.
Before them stood four people dressed in strange, full-body white suits.
"There really are people living here…" Green murmured in surprise, staring at the group. So this city wasn't abandoned after all.
However…
Even though their suits covered them completely, one could still vaguely glimpse their faces through their helmets.
Their skin was disturbingly pale—a sickly, bluish-white that made one's heart tighten.
"The Ultra Recon Squad," Lucas said with intrigue, studying them with interest.
If his memory was correct, these were the so-called Ultra Recon Squad—humans who, in the games, sought to save Ultra Megalopolis. Guided by Lunala—or Solgaleo—they had traveled to Alola to investigate the strange energy phenomena there, hoping to find a way to either control or defeat Necrozma.
In the end, they even cooperated with Lusamine—only to be used by her instead.
"What are you doing here?!"
The leader of the group—a man with a blue beard, Phyco—glared furiously at them.
Had they not arrived just in time, these intruders might have already destroyed Necrozma's seal!
And more importantly…
"You're not from here!"
Phyco's eyes quickly scanned Lucas and his companions, immediately noticing their differences.
Their appearances and clothing were far too distinct—they clearly weren't residents of Ultra Megalopolis.
This world had lost its light long ago due to Necrozma's rampage, plunging everything into eternal darkness. Without light, life itself had nearly ceased to exist.
Humans couldn't survive long in such an environment—yet these people before him were clearly full of vitality.
"Of course we're not," Lucas replied casually, lips curling upward. "And as for what we're doing here—isn't it obvious?"
"Necrozma has been sealed away long enough. It's time for it to return to the world."
Lucas's voice carried an easy, confident tone. He didn't regard these four people as threats at all. The "Ultra Recon Squad"—their name might sound impressive, but their actual power was laughably ordinary. In the original story, they were even manipulated by Lusamine.
At his words, Phyco and his team's expressions twisted in anger.
"That's impossible! I don't know where you came from, but Necrozma must not be released!"
Phyco's voice boomed with determination. He might be confused about who these intruders were, but when it came to Necrozma, there was no compromise.
Necrozma was sealed by their ancestors for a reason. The ancient records made it clear—it was a dangerous being beyond measure.
Their civilization had already been on the brink of extinction after losing sunlight. If Necrozma were released, they would truly be doomed.
"Don't misunderstand," Lucas said mockingly. "I wasn't asking for your permission."
The Ultra Recon Squad's eyes darkened.
"Captain Phyco, we should capture them first—they clearly come from another world," said Dulse, the man with violet bangs, in a low voice.
No matter what was going on, their first priority was to detain these unknown intruders.
"Yes… I agree," Phyco nodded grimly.
"Done discussing?" Lucas's tone was lazy, almost amused. Other than mild curiosity, he didn't regard them seriously at all.
"Well then… Dark Pulse."
His eyes gleamed, and he raised a hand.
A shrill cry split the air as Galarian Moltres flared its wings, unleashing a violent burst of purple-black energy straight toward the Ultra Recon Squad.
"Poipole!"
Phyco's team immediately released their Pokémon to counterattack, their Poipole's spraying toxic blasts to intercept the incoming wave.
But Moltres' Dark Pulse tore through their resistance like a blade through paper.
BOOM!
A violent explosion erupted. The Poipoles were struck directly, all collapsing in defeat, while the four humans were blown backward by the shockwave, hitting the ground hard.
They looked up in disbelief. Just from that one attack—it was clear they weren't even close to being on the same level.
"So weak… These 'people from another dimension' are this weak?" Green muttered in shock.
She'd expected something far more impressive from interdimensional beings.
"It's not that they're weak," Lusamine said softly, glancing at Lucas. "It's that Mr. Lucas is too strong."
Indeed, this brief display revealed just how overwhelmingly powerful—and domineering—Lucas was.
"With strength like yours, you'd better just stay down," Lucas said coldly. "Your ancestors' sins are yours to bear. I'm simply here to liberate you from them."
His words dripped with scorn.
Long ago, Ultra Megalopolis' ancestors—driven by greed and ambition—had stolen Necrozma's light. When the furious Necrozma went berserk, they sealed it away, leaving their descendants to suffer in the eternal darkness that followed.
How many people were even left alive in this dying world?
"Please—stop!" Phyco cried out, forcing himself to stand despite the pain. "You don't understand! Necrozma's power is immense and its nature violent and cruel! Releasing it will bring no benefit to anyone—not to you, not to us!"
He had already accepted the sins of his ancestors. He had been desperately searching for a way to save their civilization—but freeing Necrozma was not that way.
According to the records, the current Necrozma was beyond reason—pure madness given form.
"That's just what you believe," Lucas said indifferently, turning back around. "Watch closely—you'll see."
He knew very well what state Necrozma was in. But he wasn't worried—he had the means to suppress it.
Though driven mad by agony, Necrozma wasn't completely without reason.
"Moltres."
At his call, the Galarian Moltres unfurled its wings again, dark flames spreading outward in a sinister aura.
"Lord Phyco!" Dulse and the others turned pale. If Necrozma were truly freed, disaster would follow.
"I know!" Phyco's face was grim, his voice desperate as he looked up at Moltres gathering power. Gritting his teeth, he shouted,
"Lunala! Please—help us!"
He ran to the edge of the tower, staring into the endless dark sky, his voice echoing through the void.
"Lunala?"
The three women blinked in surprise—especially Lusamine. As a native of Alola, she knew that name well.
In Alolan legend, Lunala was the divine Pokémon that descended from the Ultra Space, worshiped by the ancients as "The Beast That Calls the Moon."
"So, there is a connection to Lunala," Lucas mused, a faint smile curling his lips.
Indeed, the Ultra Recon Squad had always shared a mysterious link with the twin deities of Alola—Solgaleo and Lunala.
In the original Sun and Moon storyline, it was thanks to Lunala's (or Solgaleo's) power that the squad could travel to Alola in the first place.
Later, when Lusamine unsealed Necrozma, it was the Ultra Recon Squad who used Lunala's power to send the protagonist safely to Ultra Megalopolis.
This world, of course, had its own differences—but the parallels were unmistakable.
And just then, beneath the dim and endless heavens, a violet streak cut through the darkness, racing toward them at incredible speed.
"Laaaa!"
A sharp, piercing cry filled the air, followed by a flash of black energy—a Shadow Ball—shooting straight toward Moltres.
Moltres let out a defiant shriek and countered immediately with another Dark Pulse.
The two attacks collided with explosive force, detonating in midair.
Smoke and shockwaves rippled through the room. As the haze cleared, a majestic figure descended upon the tower's upper level.
Floating gracefully above them, its crimson eyes glimmered like jewels as it gazed down at the intruders.
Its form resembled a massive bat, its crescent-shaped golden wings glowing faintly like the curve of a moon. Within its deep-Green crest shimmered a pattern like a starry night sky.
Elegant. Regal. Divine.
The legendary Pokémon of Alola—Lunala, the Beast That Calls the Moon.
"…It's strangely beautiful," Green whispered, eyes wide as she stared up at the radiant creature.
Though its form was clearly bat-like, Lunala radiated a mysterious, ethereal beauty that inspired awe rather than fear.
"Lunala! Please, stop them! They're trying to release Necrozma!" Phyco pleaded.
Though they had no deep bond, Phyco still believed Lunala would not stand idly by—because Lunala, too, would never allow Necrozma to be freed.
Ever since Necrozma lost its light, it had descended into madness. Its release would threaten everything, even Lunala's own realm within the Ultra Megalopolis.
Lunala's crimson gaze flicked briefly toward Phyco, then turned to the crystal imprisoning Necrozma.
It stared for a long time, then finally shifted its solemn eyes toward Lucas.
Necrozma… must never be freed.
