Because she had been so used to suppressing her emotions, Lillian had gotten used to being calm no matter the situation.
Or rather, she could be seething deep inside but was still smiling and laughing on the outside.
This was a skill she mastered in her line of work.
Only Lillian was informed since Denis knew she could be dead calm in a lot of situations. And yet, the said intruders were actually her visitors.
"I'm so sorry. I've caused everyone quite a headache," Lillian apologized again.
She freed herself from Leo's embrace to fetch her wallet. The crew indeed needed a treat after a false alarm like this. However, Leo beat her to it with a single glance at Bert who quickly handed a thick stack of bills to Denis.
Denis read the label on the paper holding it together, "1 million?"
Lillian was wide-eyed while Denis blinked as he suspiciously eyed her, and her supposed boyfriend. But Lillian herself was surprised as well.
