Late at night, Lars was driving while Amelia followed the signal on the GPS, giving him directions.
"Turn right… now keep going straight… two more blocks," she said, her eyes fixed on the screen.
The small red dot that marked Vivian's car moved slowly across the map.
After several minutes of driving, the GPS guided them to the suburbs of Munich.
The atmosphere changed immediately.
The streets were nearly empty. The few streetlights that still worked flickered weakly. The buildings around them looked old and neglected, their walls covered with graffiti, windows broken, metal gates rusted.
A forgotten place.
"It stopped," Amelia said.
Lars slowed the car.
In front of them stood a large abandoned building with several floors. Vivian's car was parked just outside the structure, barely illuminated by a dim streetlight.
Lars drove around the building and parked on the other side.
He turned off the engine.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
