Somewhere from his form, glowed radiantly. Perhaps it was because of the heat of the moment or just some dust in my eyes. His glamours movements resembled an angle flying around with their large tilted wings. The golden shades on his cloth compromised his black silky attire.
It was difficult to guess his height since the black top hat rested on his head. He came closer to me with every step, and I prevented eye contact with him. Finally, he reached near me, keeping a distance of an arms length as he began kneeling down to meet the little man's vision.
"Are you alright as well, sir?"
Ororon, being all shy around strangers, bit down on his lips nervously and nodded his head. He again spoke with his husky tone. This time, his words were directed at me.
"I'm glad that you two are fine, miss. Who were those fellows anyway?"
I shut my eyes before coming back to reality, I was lost in the moment for so long that I failed to realise his demeanour.
A man resonating with the dark sea. Northern oceans, beautiful yet frightening.
"Thank you for saving us, I'm not sure myself as to who they were. Ororon?"
"I was just waiting for you when these men came and were mean to me." His shaky voice still remained. Poor boy didn't have the best experience. If the party had known....
"Is that right? Well, I pray you two a safe journey ahead. Thank you for your acquaintance."
"Wait! Sir, let me repay you somehow."
He faced me again in the midst of turning around, and my tone came out too desperate since the man in front of me agreed on a meal.
'Growl '
A humble growl noise came right after he settled for a meal. His straight shoulders fell, and he scratched his head, being all embarrassed.
"A meal it is then." I blurted out with a giggled.
"Woah,"
(He's got an appetite.)
I was unprepared for what he was doing. He lifted his mask up slightly, allowing me to see a portion of his face. His lips thin and wide, a smile from such lips would be stunning.
He ordered everything from the menu.
I watched him without being able to touch my own cutlery. The scene up ahead of me was a little concerning. Now I have an idea of how he got such wide lips. It was to goble down every food that his hands reached out for. His eating style wasn't messy, but that didn't mean he didn't eat a lot.
Ororon's mouth also opened, same as me while watching him. He didn't hesitate to ask for more or for refreshments. The once full table was left sparkly clean, and all that was done by this man alone.
"Were you starved?" I asked, being genuinely concerned.
He quickly started chewing his food so that he could reply to me. Unfortunately, the lumps of his lunch had gotten stuck to his throat as he now kept hitting his chest to push it down.
Ororon quickly poured him a glass of water, and finally, he settled down.
" 'cough cough' sorry. Could you repeat that again?"
"Aaa....nothing at all."
My pockets were empty now, and not a single penny remained. It was a big mistake for me to offer him a meal. First, I got scamed, and now this. Tough luck, isn't it. I rested along the restaurant's walls for a break and sighed out heavily, as if I had lost my soul and energy.
Instantly, my eyes wandered around to the clock of the restaurant, and my eyes widened with shock.
"My goodness! Would you look at the time!?"
Ororon and the man's eyes also went to it. It was already sunset, time to meet the others. Ororon ran towards me, and we rushed immediately towards the fountain.
It was clear that we were late, and the others had already met up. They must have worked lots as they all looked beat up.
"Look who's finally here." Kyoko pronounced while folding her ups, noticeably annoyed.
"Did you have fun?" Dermis asked while picking up Ororon in his arms, and he hesitated to speak obviously.
I met my eyes with him again. He already noticed our oblivious manner. Before he could ask me anything, his pupils registered someone else, and a frown formed in his face.
"Mr.!!" the little boy called out, resulting me in turning my face quickly.
In that instant itself, I prayed a small prayer under my desperate breath. Please let it not be him!
"Hello," His husky voice followed.
(Crap.)
The golden hour made his golden attire shine a little better than before. Another annoying creature was tangled to my legs again. How many more?!
"Who are you?" The green head asked away.
"I'm an acquaintance of Miss. Aniel. Aren't I?"
"No, you're not!"
Ultimately, my rage burst out, my hands formed a fist, and I shut my eyes closed before giving a shaky laugh.
"I mean....I-i just happened to meet him."
"And he saved us!!" Ororon screamed out.
"Saved?? From what" mellow voice lingered
"Haha....just some people who were definitely trying to hurt us and take all of our money, although I still had to lose them in one way or another. It's not a big deal." I rambled away, and the party gave me a face as if they had seen a ghost.
My teeth trembled, and some of my nerves popped out as I forced out a smile. A conversation I didn't want to bring up.
It took a while for me to explain the situation, the faces of the people beside me changed with every pace of words I used, it was difficult to make them understand that everything was fine.
"So, at the end, you cane with no money and no information?"
"Ha...ha...ha," I awkwardly laughed while avoiding Tremious's glare.
"The important thing is that they are safe."
"Well said, Kyoko. Anyway, thank you, umm-sir?" Dermis forwarded his hand out to him for a handshake.
The top hatted man shook his hand back while tipping his hat with the other and exclaimed out.
"Please call me Wildom....and as for the lady."
He came closer to me, and I stumbled back a little. The arms length distance was crossed, and he softly whispered in my ears with his usual husky sound.
"Please call me Kim Soo-Hyuk."
