Chapter 16: The Deceased Protagonist, Takashi Komuro!
Inside the dark, nondescript jeep, the engine roared as it crashed through the school's main gate, successfully exiting the campus. The bodies of the "Dead" they hit were sent flying like powerless rubber balls.
Shizuka Marikawa, gripping the steering wheel, said her friend's house had weapons, so they headed in that direction.
At this point, with a moment of relative calm, everyone finally had time to talk.
"Um… May I ask who you two are? Angels? Or Psychics?" Saya Takagi couldn't hold back her curiosity any longer. The halo above Exusiai's head was dazzlingly bright, suspended in the air and moving with her. Coupled with the special abilities both she and Ren had displayed, her scientific mind was exploding with questions.
Exusiai just smiled with narrowed eyes.
Ren, however, nodded calmly. "I am indeed a Psychic, and also Saeko's friend. My name is Ren."
"I am Saya Takagi," she replied, though her heart was not calm. A powerful Psychic and a being who looks like an angel. How did Busujima-senpai get to know them?
"My name is Rei Miyamoto," Rei's voice was a bit low and distant.
"My name is Shizuka Marikawa. Ren-kun seems to know me," Shizuka, who was driving, said with some confusion. She didn't remember ever meeting him.
Ren glanced at Saeko. She understood and said calmly, "I told him about you, Shizuka."
Shizuka suddenly understood. "So that's how it is."
Saya, on the other hand, looked between Ren and Saeko. She felt things were not that simple but didn't say more.
"Before that, we need to make a plan," Ren spoke, addressing Saeko. "First, we can only stay here for 5 days. Secondly, our mission is to clear the 'Dead' as much as possible, not to eliminate them all. We don't have that ability for now; they have spread throughout the world. We can only help you for a while. You still have to rely on your own strength to create a safe zone."
In reality, with others present, he didn't voice some of his guesses. The Chat Group wouldn't let them help for free. He guessed a high mission completion rate would result in rewards.
Saya asked worriedly, "You're only staying for five days? Are you going somewhere else afterward?"
Ren didn't answer, just looking at Saeko. Her eyes were clear. She understood the time limit. She asked, "Takagi-san, do you still want to find your parents?"
Saya gritted her teeth and nodded firmly. "Yes."
"Okay. We'll get weapons at Shizuka's friend's house, then go find your parents. After that, we'll find a safe place to establish a base," Saeko decided.
From beginning to end, Rei Miyamoto said nothing, her expression lost in grief.
Ren felt something was strange. He scanned the inside of the car. Suddenly, he realized an important person was missing. Hmm? Where's Takashi Komuro?
With this question, he tentatively asked, "When you escaped, was it just you all? What about your boyfriends?"
Saeko brushed her hair back. "I don't have one. No boys I'm interested in." Her standards were high now, especially after seeing the powerful Ren.
"I don't have one either. Those boys are all idiots controlled by their lower bodies," Saya folded her arms, her disposition arrogant.
Shizuka, on the other hand, said with a resentful tone, "Sensei is an older single woman, woo woo woo…"
Ren really wanted to retort that she was indeed big. Age didn't matter.
Only Rei. Her expression was sad, and she bit her lip, lowering her head.
Seeing her like this, Saya sighed and patted her shoulder. "Sigh, what's done is done. Takashi and Hisashi are both gone. One has to look forward."
Ren felt surprised. He knew Hisashi Igo had died, but how did Takashi Komuro die? This incident once again made him realize: reality is reality, and anime is anime. The two only have a certain correlation, but their development is not fixed.
After learning the situation, he didn't continue to ask. He silently closed his eyes to rest, but in reality, he opened the Chat Group.
