Chapter 33: Daughter of the Sea! Daring to Love and Hate
Each of them held steel forks, hoes, and sickles. They were dressed in tattered clothes, but their eyes blazed with fire. "Damn fish-men! You're not allowed to bully Nami!" These were the villagers of Cocoyashi Village.
"Nami!!" A blue-haired woman rushed to the front, calling out anxiously. But when they saw Arlong Park, they were stunned. All that remained was a heap of shattered ruins.
In the middle, two people embracing each other were extremely conspicuous.
"Nami?" The blue-haired Nojiko ran over, looking at Nami and the strange, intimate man with a puzzled expression.
"Hey, hey, hey!!! Let me down!" Nami shouted.
Who knew Ren would release his hands, raising an eyebrow. "It's not me holding you." It was obvious she was the one holding on tightly.
"…" Nami was speechless. She quickly let go and got down. "Ahem."
Nojiko had no time to think about their relationship. "Nami, what happened? Where's Arlong?"
The scar-faced man leading the villagers also stepped forward. It was Genzo, who had taken care of them like a father. At the same time, his gaze was on Ren. Noticing the 'father-in-law's' gaze, Ren returned a faint, friendly smile.
"Um…" Nami organized her words. She found she couldn't speak about the Chat Group. She glanced at Ren, who just shook his head. She had to explain it differently. "The Arlong Pirates have been annihilated by Ren. Arlong is dead. Cocoyashi Village is free!"
"Is… is this true?!" the villagers' eyes widened.
"This is the best proof," she pointed at the ruins. Such a sight left them no choice but to believe. After a moment of silence, the crowd erupted in cheers. Some cried tears of joy.
Seeing their smiles, Nami smiled with relief, and tears of release streamed down her face. Nojiko and Genzo also started crying. The three of them thought simultaneously: Belle-mère, did you see this?
After a long while, Genzo calmed down and organized the villagers to leave. Only he, Nojiko, and Nami remained.
Genzo bowed deeply to Ren. "I am Genzo. Thank you very much for your help!"
"I am Nami's older sister, Nojiko. Thank you!" she also followed.
To their surprise, Ren suddenly wrapped an arm around Nami's slender waist. "This is her hometown. As her man, this much is expected."
Nojiko covered her mouth. "How bold!"
"Who's your woman?!" Nami glared, but she didn't struggle, leaning obediently against him.
"…" Genzo felt bitter. His grown-up daughter was just… gone. Feeling it was inappropriate, he and Nojiko left first.
Only Ren and Nami remained.
"How could you say such things in front of Nojiko and Genzo?"
"But you didn't resist, did you?" he smiled and squeezed her slender waist. He teased, "Nami, I feel like you're the easiest woman in the world to get. I conquered you in just over ten minutes."
This provoked her, and she roared like a lioness! "Who was conquered?! I just didn't understand the situation and blurted out that condition!" This flustered explanation was full of girlish charm.
"Haha!" he was just joking. Seeing her recover, he stopped. "Now that Arlong is dealt with, I should go back."
"Ah? Going back already? Aren't you coming to my house?" Hearing he was leaving, the tough-talking Nami felt reluctant. He had saved her, saved her village, and forcefully taken her kiss. Thinking of everything, her heart stirred. The daughters of the sea are free-spirited, daring to love and hate. Nami was no exception. She grabbed his shirt, pulled him down, and initiated a deep, passionate kiss of her own.
