Chapter 160: A Ghoul's Blind Date! Hiratsuka Shizuka's Iron Fist!

"Don't look. I made them ignore us," Ren said, letting go of her hand and patting his own. Good, no stains.

"Hiss ah!" Vinsuke sat on the ground, clutching his bloody, mangled right hand.

"Huh?" Hiratsuka Shizuka was dazed for a moment. Ren turned his head, and she saw eyes completely different from his usual ones, eyes sparkling with starlight.

"Sigh." Ren, a head taller than her, placed his hands on her shoulders. "Shizuka-sensei, you really shouldn't go on blind dates anymore. It's very dangerous."

"What exactly is going on?" Although she didn't know what had happened, she had calmed down. She was willing to trust this student.

He let go and pointed at Vinsuke. "This guy is not only a pervert, but also a monster."

"Pervert? Monster?" She was even more confused.

Ren said coldly to the man on the ground, "Hey, take me to your basement."

"Yes!" Vinsuke's attitude suddenly changed. The pain seemed to vanish as he stood up and walked into the restaurant.

Ren turned to Shizuka. "Sensei, you should go back first, or just stay here." With that, he followed the man inside.

"…" She remained completely bewildered. But she was his teacher; she had to take responsibility to the end. Tsk… Gritting her teeth, she took out her phone, ready to dial the police at any moment, and followed him down.

Vinsuke unlocked a heavy iron door, revealing a dark staircase. Strange noises came from below—roars, strange laughs, and cries. All were women's voices. Shizuka's expression changed. This wasn't simple. She felt she should call the police, but Ren had already gone down.

They passed through the dark stairs. Light flickered at the end. Taking the last step, they entered the lit room.

Shizuka stood dumbfounded, her mind completely blank. Here, she witnessed the most terrifying scene of her life.

My name is Hiratsuka Shizuka. Today was supposed to be another meaningless blind date. My parents said he was a good young man. When I met him, I felt a strange aversion. I was about to enter the restaurant when Ren, my student, appeared and crushed his hand.

He said a bunch of things I didn't understand. Then, he was led into the restaurant. I followed him, saw the basement door, and heard the sounds. When I fully entered and saw the scene inside, a strong sense of fear surged into my heart. My heart pounded, and my breathing became difficult. I felt a wave of nausea.

A foul, bloody stench assailed her nostrils. On several tables were naked corpses, their bodies covered in wounds where flesh was missing. Some were disemboweled, their organs spilling out. There were also severed limbs and heads split in half. Steel hooks hung from the ceiling, some holding the suspended bodies of women.

Around them were other disheveled women, bound by chains. Some were deranged, some cried, and some screamed upon seeing them. The blood on the ground was like a tide, soaking her shoes. Her legs began to tremble. Her hands were ice cold. Her senses were fading. Smell, only blood. Taste, only vomit. Hearing, only crying.

And the sight… the bloody scene was impossible to look away from. A wave of suffocation gripped her, as if an invisible hand was tightening around her throat. In this atmosphere of fear, what surged in her heart was pure sadness and explosive anger.

"Devil… Are you a devil?!" With unknown courage, her trembling body erupted in a roar. She delivered a powerful punch directly to Vinsuke's abdomen. His eyes bulged, he vomited, and his entire body flew backward, slamming against the wall.

"???" This commotion even startled Ren. It wasn't that the punch was powerful, but who threw it. An ordinary person's punch sent an adult flying several meters? It showed just how angry she was. This was the real Shizuka-sensei's iron fist, used in the right place.

But she wasn't facing a human. Vinsuke stood up, staring darkly at her. "Ah!" he roared. This scream made the imprisoned women tremble. At the same time, he transformed. His eyes turned a non-human red. Rip! His clothes tore, and a pair of disgusting, tumor-like wings unfolded from his back.

"!!!" The enraged Shizuka was now terrified. He had turned from a human into… a monster! She suddenly turned to Ren. He had said he was a monster!

Chapter 161: The Purgatory Below and the Wings of Sin

"Don't worry about him attacking you. He's already under my control," Ren motioned for her to relax. Vinsuke had transformed, but found he couldn't move.

"What exactly is going on?"

Ren walked to Vinsuke, examining his eyes and wings, and said indifferently, "He's not human. He's a Ghoul."

[Inorin's Note: A Ghoul, in the context of the 'Tokyo Ghoul' series, is a carnivorous and cannibalistic species that can only feed on humans. They possess enhanced physical abilities and a special predatory organ called a 'Kagune' (the wings).]

He hadn't expected it. After meeting her, he noticed this person carried immense sin. After dominating his memories, he discovered his identity. A new cognitive factor had appeared.

"A Ghoul?"

Ren didn't answer, his gaze sweeping over the trembling women. He was also angry. Vinsuke was not just a Ghoul; he was an extremely perverted beast. He liked to eat women who were driven to despair after endless torment. Every one of these bodies had endured countless tortures.

The Wings of Sin unfolded from Ren's back, blacker and more menacing than before. They had gained the characteristics of the witches he had converted. He had a premonition that if they absorbed more sins, they would be sublimated.

Using the new power, he could alter judgment with the Sin of Wrath. Simply turning him to ash would be too easy. He would stretch the course of judgment. Within any given time, the judged would infinitely cycle through their sins and never truly reach death.

The Black Mist of Judgment merged into Vinsuke's body. "Ahhh, no, no!!!!" he let out twisted, painful, eerie screams. What he was experiencing was the brutalization of every person he had eaten. Ren wanted him to suffer a fate worse than death, like a certain Diavolo, never reaching the reality of death.

The black wings dissipated. Golden light shone. Golden wings bloomed from his back. Light of Salvation.

Bathed in the golden light, the bodies of the imprisoned, living women rapidly recovered. Not just simple healing, but true salvation.

"Go," he said softly.

Before his eyes were the tearful thanks of ethereal women, which only he could see. They were the victims who had died, the malevolent spirits gathered here. Now they would receive true release.

"…" Hiratsuka Shizuka stared blankly at Ren, who was like a god.

Chapter 162: Erasing Memories, A Choice in the Cold Wind

They left that hellish restaurant. Ren took her to a bridge over the river, hoping the wind could calm her down.

Shizuka, having barely calmed some of her mixed emotions, immediately asked, "What will happen to them…?"

Ren leaned on the railing, closing his eyes. "They will forget everything and return to society." That was all he could do.

Clenching her fists, she sighed. "Forgetting… perhaps it's a good outcome."

"Shizuka-sensei, how about I erase your memories too?" he was ready to give her the choice.

"…" She stood in the cold wind, unsure how to answer. Her red dress fluttered, the breeze tousling her hair. The purgatorial scene lingered in her mind. Thinking of the bloody images would make her dizzy. She lowered her head and instead asked, "Vinsuke… what exactly is a Ghoul?"

Ren turned around, leaning back against the railing. "A Ghoul… is a distorted creature that can almost only eat humans."

"They can only eat people…" she found it hard to remain calm. "Are there many of these monsters?"

"I don't know. You know about my Supernatural Research Club, right? Supernatural entities are like cicadas; when it's not their time, they are difficult to find. When it is their time, they will suddenly emerge. The world has more than just Ghouls; there are many more phenomena that haven't appeared yet."

The apocalypse was such a strange thing.
