Chapter 167: Who Dares Claim Invincibility? Who Dares Speak of Undefeatability? Are You the Desolate Heavenly Emperor?
"All of you, die!"
Kokujoji Daikaku roared, punching out with a single fist. In that instant, a phantom of the starry sky, vast and crushing, bloomed behind him.
The air itself trembled and fractured, and an overwhelmingly powerful force, dense as a collapsing star, crushed towards the scattered Kings and their clansmen.
"Wah!"
Nagare Hisui, Reisi Munakata, and Tenkei Iwafune were all instantly shattered in their Weismann Fields. The force bypassed their defenses, sending their bodies flying backward like broken dolls, spitting blood from their mouths.
Only Adolf K. Weismann's unique power of "Immutability" kept him unharmed; he merely flew out from the impact and gracefully used gravity to suspend himself in the air, his face a mask of sorrow.
Mikoto Suoh, his crimson aura blazing to its absolute limit, used his immense power to barely withstand the attack, skidding back hundreds of meters and carving deep trenches in the concrete.
After Kokujoji Daikaku repelled the five Kings, his corrupted, bloodshot gaze locked onto the distant figures of HOMRA and Scepter 4.
A sinister, cruel grin appeared at the corner of his mouth. "I'll kill your precious clans!"
Before the Kings could react or recover.
He raised his hand, waving it once, twice, three times towards that direction, as if casually swatting flies.
And what changed with his movements was that a hundred-meter-tall skyscraper, its foundation ripped from the earth, rose from the ground. It floated for a second before smashing down towards Awashima Seri and the others.
With that terrifying speed and immense size, there was no way to dodge.
Awashima Seri's eyes narrowed, her hand flying to the hilt of her saber. She immediately shouted: "All members, draw your swords! Prepare for defensive barrier!"
Izumo Kusanagi also hastily shouted: "Everyone, attack…!"
But his sentence stopped abruptly, his cigarette falling from his lips.
It wasn't just one tall building… one after another, several hundred-meter-tall buildings rose into the air, coming towards them like a chain of catastrophic stars.
"Gulp… We… are dead…"
In the shadows of the falling buildings, someone swallowed nervously, their voice trembling in fear.
Even Izumo Kusanagi felt a deep sense of powerlessness… This was the true power of the Golden King, the strongest King.
He took a deep breath, straightened his jacket, and shouted: "No Blood! No Bone! No Ash!"
The HOMRA members looked at each other, their initial fear replaced by a fiery resolve, and shouted in unison.
This was their HOMRA slogan.
Not a drop of blood!
Not a single bone!
Not a speck of dust!
How could they be afraid of death?
"Damn it!"
Mikoto Suoh and Reisi Munakata roared, trying to rush over, but Kokujoji Daikaku appeared before them in a golden flash, blocking them with his sheer aura. "Our battle isn't over yet!"
Awashima Seri closed her eyes, having also lost the will to resist… At this moment, she calmly faced death.
"Hahahaha! Do you see? Do you see?! I am the one with the strongest power! I am invincible! No one can defeat me!"
"I will kill all Kings, I will kill everyone, only I alone can be King! I am destiny! I am fate!"
Kokujoji Daikaku laughed maniacally, his voice booming over the ruins, reveling in his absolute, arrogant power.
"Who dares claim invincibility? Who dares speak of undefeatability?"
Hmph!
What reached Kokujoji Daikaku's ears was a disdainful, mocking sneer. "Tch. Do you think you are the Desolate Heavenly Emperor or something?"
[Catatan: Referensi ke Shi Hao, protagonis dari "Perfect World", yang terkenal dengan kalimat tersebut.]
"What?!"
Kokujoji Daikaku's eyes widened, bigger than an ox's. He froze, his maniacal laughter cut short. What... Emperor?
He looked down at his chest.
It was pierced straight through by a rusted steel pipe, which had been driven completely through his heart and spine.
His head was even too stiff to turn.
His vision was blurring;
His body was weakening;
His consciousness was becoming ethereal.
"I... I need to run!!!!"
The Colorless King's soul, possessing the body, tried to escape from this dying vessel, but he failed. A silver-blue power, radiating from the steel pipe, had locked his soul in place.
The Colorless King's soul… shattered.
In the moment before true death, the Colorless King had only one thought.
"Who… am I?"
Thud.
Kokujoji Daikaku's corpse fell heavily to the ground, no longer a King, just a man.
"Lieutenant!"
Weismann was the first to run over, dropping to his knees. He supported his old friend's body, checking for breath he knew was no longer there.
Ren casually threw away the blood-stained steel pipe in his hand, prompting: "Don't bother. He's thoroughly dead. Soul and all."
Mikoto Suoh and Reisi Munakata first focused on the condition of their clansmen.
Everyone was safe and sound, because the falling buildings... had turned to harmless dust.
"Oh dear, what's going on?" Izumo Kusanagi let out a long breath of smoke, a look of profound surprise on his face.
"It's rainbow… a beautiful rainbow…"
The small, doll-like Kushina Anna murmured, her red, marble-like eyes sparkling.
Awashima Seri, on the other hand, stared intently at the man who had just killed the Golden King. She could be certain that it was that man who had saved them from the brink of death.
She had heard a sharp snap of fingers.
In Awashima Seri's calm gaze, a man had appeared before them.
Immediately after, the several massive buildings descending upon them, like bubbles, gradually and silently turned into colorful, harmless dust.
In just a blink of an eye, that man disappeared, as if he had never appeared at all.
Except for Mikoto Suoh, everyone else looked at Ren with extreme wariness.
Reisi Munakata wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, adjusted his glasses, and frowned, asking: "Are you an unregistered power user?"
"Not at all." Ren had no intention of discussing these things with him, merely telling them simply: "He is not Kokujoji Daikaku. He was the Colorless King; the Colorless King seized his body."
"Colorless King?!"
Weismann looked up, his sorrow replaced by a cold anger. "Where is he?"
"He's also dead. Killed by me," Ren said nonchalantly.
[Silver Wolf: "So fast, what a boring battle. I'm going to play games."]
[Saeko Busujima: "The enemy was instantly killed. Ren-san's efficiency is as terrifying as ever."]
[Nami: "Kiana, do you feel a sense of familiarity at the scene? Getting one-shot?"]
[Kiana: "?! This Miss… this Miss would never be that stupid! Shut up, Nami!"]
[Mikasa: "When… when did he get behind that person?"]
[Momonga: "I didn't see clearly either. His speed, or perhaps teleportation, is beyond perception."]
[Rory Takakura: "Ren-san just vanished from beside me with a whoosh, and then vanished behind that old grandpa with another whoosh."]
[Aqua: "Tsk, it's just simple spatial movement, little girl, don't be fooled, okay?"]
[Rory Takakura: "Eh! What fooling… Ren-san didn't do anything, did he?"]
[Aqua: "Tsk tsk tsk, a little girl is just a little girl. When you say that, you've already fallen into the clutches of evil."]
Ren's mouth twitched.
This Aqua was intensely vengeful, always trying to slander him at every turn.
Don't give me a chance to go to your world, otherwise… I really want to see if the Goddess of Water truly has a lot of water.
However, Aqua was indeed correct.
He merely used his new Space Source ability to instantly move behind Kokujoji, sever his death line with the steel pipe, and thoroughly kill the opponent and the parasitic soul.
After killing the Colorless King, the Doom Companion prompt also appeared.
[System: Ding! Detected that the Anomaly Colorless King has been killed, Doom Companion has ended!]
[System: Ren gained 100,000 doomsday points, Mikoto Suoh gained 30,000 doomsday points, Kiana gained 10,000 doomsday points, Rory Takakura gained 10,000 doomsday points!]
Doom Companion had ended, but the doomsday had not yet concluded.
The Light of Ruin still existed.
Ren had already found the exact location of the Light of Ruin from the Colorless King's jumbled, corrupted memories.
"Mikoto Suoh, Rory Takakura, Kiana, come with me to a place."
As soon as he finished speaking, the four people and one cat suddenly vanished.
"They… disappeared!"
Tenkei Iwafune's dead fish eyes, for once, opened wide.
Nagare Hisui frowned, his green aura flickering.
The Golden King had died.
This was what he wanted to see. The 'unchanging' pillar was gone.
However, a seemingly more troublesome person had appeared, and that person had a clear connection with the Red King.
His plan needed to be put on hold for observation before he could act.
Reisi Munakata's gaze under his glasses flickered to the spot where Ren and the others had disappeared, then casually shifted to Nagare Hisui.
He needed to be wary of both of them.
As for the Silver King, Weismann, he looked sorrowful as he gently carried Kokujoji Daikaku's body and flew into the sky, away from the destroyed city.
… …
"This is…"
Mikoto Suoh felt a powerful, ancient force here, far stronger than anything he'd felt from the Kings.
In the center of the dim, vast space, there was a flat, circular rock as large as six tatami mats, with a strange pattern resembling a circular maze carved into its surface.
"This is the source of the King's power, the Dresden Slate," Ren said calmly.
[Catatan: The Dresden Slate adalah artefak supernatural dalam K-Project. Ini adalah sumber kekuatan para Raja.]
This was precisely the Dresden Slate Chamber in the Golden King's Mihashira Tower, where the Dresden Slate was stored.
And the Light of Ruin was right above the Slate.
Ren's ice-blue, iridescent Mystic Eyes of Death Perception opened.
"!!!"
The kitten in his arms trembled; those eyes were so terrifying!
"Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you," Ren said softly, already drawing his Zanpakuto.
His target was one of the two death lines on the Dresden Slate.
A pure, parasitic, white death line.
He swung his sword, intending to cut it.
But unexpectedly, the death line actually moved!
Ren was startled and noticed something amiss.
It wasn't the death line moving, but a mass of corrupt, white light gathering from the surface of the Slate and beginning to escape outwards.
It detached from the Slate and rushed, not at Ren, but towards Rory Takakura.
"So bright!"
The dazzling white light made Rory Takakura unable to open her eyes.
The Light of Ruin seemed to be searching for a new, weaker host, attempting to merge into Rory Takakura's body.
But something even stranger happened.
As it was about to touch Rory Takakura's skin, it just... couldn't advance an inch.
"How peculiar. I didn't expect you could run."
Ren was very surprised; this thing actually had a survival instinct and tried to escape.
Although he wasn't sure what this mass of Light of Ruin wanted to do.
But judging by the Colorless King's appearance, it certainly wasn't good news.
If it were his previous self, he might have had to scramble to intercept it.
Unfortunately for the light, Ren now possessed the Source of Space, at Lv. 8.
The Light of Ruin and Rory Takakura seemed to be only a hair's breadth apart.
In reality, several superimposed spaces, folded by Ren's will, separated them.
Simply put, the Light of Ruin and Rory Takakura were not on the same spatial layer at all.
Unless it broke through the several parallel spaces in between and forcefully reached Rory Takakura's layer, it couldn't touch her.
Furthermore, the Light of Ruin was already immobile; it was trapped in a box, an inescapable prism formed by several superimposed spaces.
To prevent it from causing any more trouble, Ren had instantly set up multiple restrictions.
"No matter what you are, you can die now."
Knowing how to escape meant it was afraid. Afraid of the existence of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
He slashed out with his sword.
Crack!
Space itself shattered.
The death line broke.
After a violent, silent burst of light, the Light of Ruin vanished into thin air.
[System: Ding! Detected that Ren has killed the Light of Ruin, Doom ended!]
[System: Ren additionally gains 300,000 doomsday points! Others additionally gain 10,000 doomsday points!]
