Actually, what Asakura said was slightly biased.
For example, there are many people in this world with more knowledge than Yukinoshita Yukino, yet this world remains calm, which means that those supernatural things should not be so easy to surface.
But since Yukinoshita Yukino didn't know about this, using it to warn her not to get too carried away wasn't a big problem.
After all, she had already been involved in two supernatural incidents. It wasn't impossible for a third to occur at any time. Only by staying vigilant at all times might she save her life.
Yukinoshita Yukino also fell silent for a moment.
However, from her eyes, the girl didn't seem to have given up on her intention to continue reading and studying.
Asakura tapped the plate, and the weasel sandwich inside vanished without a trace, replaced by a plate of gray, somewhat cookie-like rock cakes.
"Oh, rock cakes… it's not impossible, I guess."
Asakura sighed, took his mug from the snack cabinet nearby, and as soon as he placed it on the table, a full cup of hot milk appeared out of thin air inside.
Then, under the girl's surprised gaze, Asakura continuously dipped the rock cakes into the milk, waiting for them to soften before eating them.
If one ignored their tooth-breaking hardness, the rock cakes themselves were quite tasty, with a baked whole-grain aroma.
"Want some?"
Asakura held up the rock cake in his hand towards the girl.
"No, thank you."
The girl said proudly, "I've tried these biscuits at a previous banquet."
"How did they taste?"
Asakura asked.
"Like rust."
Yukino replied expressionlessly, "I chewed for three minutes and couldn't even leave a tooth mark on it. My teeth almost broke."
"Actually, this one is quite tasty…"
Asakura dryly stuffed the softened rock cake into his mouth, "See, it's still soft."
Yukinoshita Yukino looked at him with disdain, her expression returning to her usual cold demeanor.
After finishing the rock cakes, Asakura intended to leave.
If he had known Yukinoshita Yukino would also come to eat lunch today, he would have chosen the Clubroom.
The reason he didn't choose that as his first option was because he often encountered Asagumo Chihaya there. When they were alone, she was much more persistent than Miss Yukino. Last time, Asakura had to drink an entire teapot of kung fu tea to barely escape. This time, he really didn't want to fill his stomach with so much tea; his stomach wasn't a teapot.
"If you're free after school, come here again."
Just then, Yukinoshita Yukino suddenly called out to Asakura.
"What's wrong?"
Asakura turned back in surprise to look at her. This seemed to be the first time Yukinoshita Yukino had invited him to the Service Club room since he could remember.
"I received a new job from Hiratsuka-sensei."
Yukinoshita Yukino replied.
"That's the Service Club's job, isn't it? What does it have to do with our Magic Club?"
Asakura asked righteously.
"I'm just telling you. Whether you want to help or not is up to you."
Yukino said.
Thanks to Gotō Hitori's superb performance at the Founders' Festival, and Asakura and their performance, which was written as a stage play but read as a nonsensical magic show, the Magic Club led by Asakura naturally received an immediate pardon from the Student Council. Not only was it no longer in danger of being abolished, but it also gained recognition from the school's higher-ups.
Furthermore, after the great success of the Founders' Festival, Amakusa Shino had gradually taken over the Student Council President's duties from President Nijima. Although she was currently still 'Vice President' and there hadn't been a presidential election, according to past years' precedents, her ascendancy was basically a sure thing.
This also meant that the Magic Club, which had a good relationship with her, would no longer need to worry about being abolished, unless some extremely severe and malicious incident occurred.
In contrast, Yukinoshita Yukino's Service Club clearly had a less impressive record. Although the play was a success thanks to Asakura, it only managed to gain some recognition and was barely holding on, mainly due to its contributions during the Founders' Festival preparations. Even Hiratsuka Shizuka had subtly hinted that she could disband the Service Club and directly join Asakura's Magic Club.
But after much thought, the girl still did not give up on her club. Instead, she decided to continue upholding her ideals, believing that if she kept working hard, the Service Club would surely gain official school recognition once it received approval from the students.
It was precisely for this reason that she transitioned from passively waiting in the Service Club's activity room to actively seeking out Hiratsuka Shizuka, hoping to help her solve some problems.
And the ultimate result was this commission.
"So what is it exactly? Don't wait until night; tell me now—" Asakura asked.
After a moment of hesitation, the girl didn't delay and spoke directly: "Hiratsuka-sensei discovered that a student was working part-time illegally after school."
"Working part-time illegally?" Asakura was stunned. "Is there such a rule?"
"The school has strict regulations on part-time work. According to Hiratsuka-sensei, the student indeed violated them—" Yukinoshita Yukino confirmed with a nod. "The latest allowed working time is 6:00 PM, but the student seems to be working night shifts and even falls asleep during class because of it."
Asakura chuckled upon hearing this.
I've seen this episode before!
Although Asakura had never seriously watched the anime "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected" (let alone the novels) in his previous life, he had come across related videos on short video platforms, mostly similar to '5 minutes to watch' series.
These short videos usually summarize an entire movie or anime in five minutes, but the "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected" ones Asakura encountered were a series, covering one to two episodes in five minutes. He didn't know if the creator was trying to ride on the original work's popularity or simply wanted to make more videos.
Asakura had never actively searched for such content in the past; he would just watch whatever came up while eating, only paying attention if he was interested. The first short video he watched, and the one he remembered most clearly, happened to be about this very story.
If he remembered correctly, in the original work, there was a female student who, due to financial difficulties, went to work as a bartender. Yukinoshita Yukino seemed to want to lecture her but was instead talked down by the other party. Later, the male protagonist, Hachiman Hikigaya, mentioned scholarships or something, which finally convinced the girl to give up her part-time job.
He remembered that female student was called Kawasaki something… Kawasaki what? Why did he suddenly think of hot pot sauce?
"It seems you have some idea—" Yukino looked at Asakura's expression before continuing, "That's right, I'm talking about that transfer student, Togawa Sakiko."
Asakura: "…Hmm?"
Who is that?
