Chapter 440 - LOD Chapter 437 Curse and Corruption

Watching Astolfo, who was struggling to control himself, Aaron finally understood why Will Auceptin was urging him; this was a state of losing control where godhood was almost overwhelming humanity.

There was no time to ponder why Astolfo, who had been perfectly normal when he recovered to Sequence 2, suddenly lost control at the Abomination stage. With the Nation of Disorder's boost, Aaron decisively continued his assault.

He had already found the source of Astolfo's loss of control through the imbalance within the pseudo-Divine Kingdom area. The illusory world behind him trembled slightly, and the madness and malice in Astolfo's blood-red eyes rapidly receded at an incredible speed.

This was achieved by using the Sequence 2 Balancer's ability to forcibly balance Astolfo's mad godhood and human self after his advancement to Abomination, instantly stabilizing the dam that was on the verge of collapse.

This kind of forced balance, based on modifying rules, can generally only be used on existences of the same rank or lower. For existences exceeding one's own rank, the effect will be greatly diminished, or even ineffective.

Under the Nation of Disorder's blessing, Aaron, who was already approaching the King of Angels' rank despite still being a Sequence 2, easily suppressed Astolfo, who had reverted to an Abomination.

With his humanity restored and madness receding, Astolfo did not hesitate, directly severing the evil vines that were wrapped around his body, connecting him to other historical fog fragments.

The mad godhood that had been constantly impacting the balancing force immediately quieted down, seemingly losing the support of its source power, but Aaron's expression remained solemn.

The awakened Astolfo completely unreservedly showed Aaron everything, allowing him to discover a brown flower bud that had quietly appeared on Astolfo's chest at some unknown time.

Even without the power infused by the evil vines connecting to the historical fog, the flower bud stopped blooming, but it still clung like a bone maggot, unable to be completely annihilated, as if it were a higher-level curse, transcending Abomination!

"I was careless. That guy had been pretending ever since I recovered to Ancient Bane..."

A low sigh, enough to separate a demigod's spirit and flesh, sounded. Astolfo's blood-red eyes reflected the withered brown flower bud on his chest. After a moment of silence, he slowly explained:

"The reason I was able to reach my current rank in such a short time without the need for an advancement ritual is because I am one with the Chained God. For me, this is not an advancement, but merely a recovery."

"The special nature of Abomination forced me to choose a segment of historical fog where my main body existed, to re-absorb the sins I once bore. I was careful enough to select a lost history from the Second Epoch."

"Unfortunately, I didn't expect that the one in the Cosmos would use the 'Chained God' to curse all historical fog related to me in the past. The absolute suppression in terms of rank and authority made me unable to detect this trap. As long as I tried to recover to the Abomination rank, I would suffer a calamity."

In the historical fog of the Spirit World, one cannot mention true names, but Aaron knew very well that Astolfo was referring to the Mother Tree of Desire. Remembering the Outer Deity's actions outside the Primordial One's barrier before, it was likely a feint to attract the attention of the Seven Deities, while secretly extinguishing the Chained God's last hope.

Aaron solemnly withdrew his hand. Although the Mother Tree of Desire's pollution, or rather curse, was like a rootless duckweed after Astolfo severed all connections with the historical fog, the essence of that transcendent power was like a bone maggot, difficult to remove.

This, after all, was not pollution attached to a Sealed Artifact that could be simply and brutally crushed and the curse separated by an Angel's might.

He couldn't possibly completely crush Astolfo just to remove this curse. Even for an Abomination, as long as the Beyonder characteristic remained, it wasn't difficult to resurrect in the Spirit World, but the long time required for this was something Aaron could not accept.

Looking at his nominal messenger, Aaron thought for a moment and carefully spoke:

"You must have a deep understanding of her pollution, but compared to the Chained God, your current situation is still within a controllable range. The process of pollution has been interrupted, but this lingering, unremovable curse is still a hidden danger."

"The power of an Outer Deity can only be dealt with by an Outer Deity. Fortunately, this curse has just begun and is not complete. I do have a way to expel it, but it depends on your choice."

Astolfo's blood-colored eyes flickered. Looking at Aaron and the illusory kingdom that enveloped the entire historical fog, he had already guessed Aaron's plan.

This host, chosen long ago, naturally couldn't be an Outer Deity, but there was indeed something comparable to an Outer Deity hidden within him: the Sefirah, or more precisely, the Sefirah's corruption.

Even if it couldn't truly be equated with an Outer Deity, across the Primordial One's barrier, it could indeed expel the Mother Tree of Desire's lingering curse.

However, if one accepted the Sefirah's pollution, whether willing or not, the relationship between the two could no longer return to its original equal cooperative relationship.

This was also why Aaron, apart from the Angels who inherently belonged to his sphere of influence, had not forcibly demanded belief in the Lord of Order, such as Pallez and Will Auceptin, and the Queen of Calamity, Cohinem.

"Actually, long ago, after I was polluted by that one, I had no choice..."

Astolfo self-mocked with an inexplicable tone, having already made up his mind. He solemnly chanted the honorific name he had long known but had never prayed to:

"The Origin and Shadow of Order;

The Great Emperor of the Realm of Chaos;

The Lord of Order who wields rules;"

Almost at the instant he chanted the honorific name, the Nation of Disorder's power projection in the historical fog rose a miniature Sun, and Aaron simultaneously established a much closer connection with Astolfo than that of a messenger.

The faith of a Sequence 1 Great Angel made Aaron feel a certain change in the Nation of Disorder, and a certain past conjecture inexplicably came to his mind:

"The Black Emperor's subjects should not be narrowly limited to humans, but should also include various life forms such as elves, giants, and Beyonders..."

"Sequence 1 Abomination is itself a high-level existence of the Beyonder Pathway. Could this be considered a kind of perfection of Order?"

"Unfortunately, I am not of the Black Emperor Pathway. As two opposing sides of Order, although I can feel a certain change in the Nation of Disorder, there is no clear feedback."

"If I have the opportunity to obtain the Uniqueness of the Black Emperor Pathway, perhaps there will be some unexpected surprises..."

All sorts of chaotic thoughts flashed through his mind, but Aaron's actions did not stop at all. His main consciousness quickly returned to the Nation of Disorder, summoning the Justiciar card and the Black Emperor card, mobilizing the Sequence 1 Hand of Order characteristic from the Crown of Chaos, allowing endless dark-gold mist to surge into Astolfo's prayer light spot.
