Chapter 10 - CH 10

The weeks following their arrival in Konoha were a time of intense adjustment for Akari and Kaien. While Akari tried to find her bearings in a village that had changed so much, under the watchful yet kind eye of Tsunade, Kaien's intelligence continued to grow at a staggering pace. Every day, Tsunade's intuitive training, based on the direct "reading" of information through his Eyes of Infinity, refined his understanding of the world. He absorbed knowledge not only from the books Tsunade brought him, but also from the conversations he overheard and the landscapes he observed. He could now process complex concepts at a level equal to that of a highly intelligent pre-teen, but he still retained his purity.

Despite his rapid intellectual development, his personality remained remarkably consistent. Kaien remained fundamentally joyful, carefree, friendly, and deeply kind-hearted. The notions of malice or deceit were foreign to his being. He distinguished right from wrong with disarming clarity, always preferring kindness and harmony. His fiery red hair, increasingly streaked with silvery hues, reflected his unique essence: an ancient soul bound to infinity, housed in the innocence of a child.

Naruto's presence had become a pillar in Kaien's life. With his boundless energy and unconditional acceptance, Naruto was the perfect playmate. They spent hours exploring Konoha, laughing and marveling at little things. Naruto had even developed a protective admiration for the "weird guy with cool eyes and pocket summons."

One sunny afternoon, as Naruto showed Kaien his favorite cloud-watching spot, they stumbled upon a group of Academy students practicing shuriken throwing. Among them, a black-haired boy with a distant gaze stood apart, throwing his shuriken with cold precision. It was Sasuke Uchiha.

True to himself, Naruto rushed in. "Hey, Teme! Look who's here! It's Kaien! He's super cool, and he has the cutest little summons!"

Sasuke turned, his gaze first landing on the exuberant Naruto, then on Kaien. His eyes lingered on Kaien's Eyes of Infinity, a flicker of curiosity crossing his usual indifference. Fae fluttered quietly around Kaien's head, while Ryuu sat calmly at his feet.

Kaien, naturally curious, approached Sasuke. His eyes scanned the young Uchiha, sensing the weight of grief and loneliness within him. He innocently held out his hand. "Hi! I'm Kaien. Your eyes are pretty. But… are you sad?"

The unexpected, straightforward comment made Sasuke frown. No one spoke to him like that, especially not a stranger. He was used to admiration or disdain, not such a candid reading of his soul.

Naruto, a bit flustered, interjected. "Hey, Kaien, you can't just say stuff like that! That's Sasuke, my… rival!"

Kaien ignored Naruto, gazing at Sasuke with disarming sincerity. "Why are you sad? Did you lose someone you love?"

Sasuke, shaken by the unexpected insight of this boy with cosmic eyes, looked away. A brief image of his clan's massacre flashed through his mind. He felt exposed, and it made him uneasy. "That's none of your business," he replied coldly, yet didn't walk away.

At that moment, two young kunoichi approached, drawn by the small commotion. One with long blonde hair and the other with bright pink hair. They were Ino Yamanaka and Sakura Haruno.

"Naruto, are you bothering Sasuke-kun again?" exclaimed Sakura, before noticing Kaien. "Who's he? He looks… special."

Ino, always the first to size up a newcomer, was immediately intrigued by Kaien's fiery red hair and especially by his eyes. "Oh! His eyes are… beautiful! I've never seen a dōjutsu like that! Is he from your clan, Naruto?"

Naruto, proud to have such a unique new friend, puffed out his chest. "Yeah! Akari-sensei and Lady Tsunade's cousin found him! He's an Uzumaki, like me, dattebayo!"

Kaien, ignoring the mini-battle between Naruto, Sakura, and Ino for Sasuke's attention, stepped toward the girls. He looked at Sakura, then Ino, his Eyes of Infinity reading the essence of their personalities.

"You like Sasuke," Kaien told Sakura, his voice filled with simple observation. "But you're a little loud." Then he turned to Ino. "You do too. But you're more direct, and you have pretty flowers in your hair."

The girls were stunned. The boy had a keen sense of perception. They were used to compliments or teasing, not such a raw insight into who they were.

Ino, the more direct of the two, quickly grew fond of Kaien. Her curiosity overpowered her rivalry with Sakura. "You're weird, but interesting, Kaien. How old are you?"

"Three!" Kaien replied with a big smile, though his physical age suggested otherwise.

The three future genin (Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke) were perplexed. A teenager who was three?

"It's… a long story," said Naruto, trying to cover for Kaien awkwardly, like he'd heard Akari and Tsunade do. "He had an accident, and his mind is kind of… young. But he's super strong!"

Sakura, not usually protective of Naruto, found Kaien intriguing. His innocence and kindness were a stark contrast to the boys her age. She was especially fascinated by his eyes and the creatures that accompanied him. He wasn't like the others—and that made her curious.

In the days that followed, news of Kaien's arrival spread among the young ninjas. He became something of a harmless mascot for Konoha's future generation. Sasuke, though he never admitted it, found a strange fascination with Kaien. He was different—an enigma that even his Sharingan couldn't decipher. Kaien's purity disturbed and attracted him at once. Sometimes he found himself watching Kaien play with Naruto, his own complex emotions quieted in the presence of the boy with cosmic eyes.

Kaien's intelligence continued to grow at an exponential rate. He began asking increasingly complex questions about chakra nature, jutsu structure, and clan history. Tsunade, amazed, realized this was no longer simple development, but active absorption of the world's knowledge. He didn't learn like others—he understood by essence.

One evening, as Tsunade explained the principles of Medical Ninjutsu, Kaien looked at her, his Eyes of Infinity swirling. "So, Tsunade-chan, if life is just energy gathering, and the body is a form… then chakra is how the energy moves in a body?"

Tsunade was speechless. "Yes, Kaien, that's a very good way to see it."

"And if we understand how energy gathers to make a body, we can fix it if it breaks, right?" he asked with terrifyingly simple logic.

Tsunade grasped the weight of his question. He wasn't asking theoretically—he understood the mechanism at a fundamental level. His intelligence was growing even faster than expected, and he was about to surpass even the greatest minds in understanding the fundamental laws of existence.

But the most remarkable thing was that his personality remained innocent and joyful. He asked deep questions about life and death, but his tone stayed light, his smile sincere. Knowledge didn't corrupt him—it only enriched his understanding of a world he saw as a grand game. He knew how to bring back the dead, but he also understood it wasn't something to do lightly—or without permission. He could now distinguish right from wrong, and his heart always leaned toward compassion.

Meanwhile, Tsunade remained cautious about Danzo and the village council. Reports on Kaien's "therapeutic progress" were carefully worded, emphasizing his social improvements while downplaying his intellectual growth. They continued to portray him as a child affected by trauma, with a dōjutsu whose real capabilities were still "uncertain and unstable."

Akari, watching her son flourish and form bonds, felt both proud and anxious. Could the world contain such a wonder? Tsunade's protection was a powerful shield—but how far could it shield them from Konoha's insatiable hunger for power and knowledge?

Kaien, the child with fiery red hair and cosmic eyes, was unknowingly beginning to shape the destiny of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Ino. Without realizing it, Konoha's new generation—and the entire shinobi world—was about to feel the profound, unexpected influence of the Heir of Infinity.
