Chapter 2 - 2. Find out the situation and return home, don’t leave any grudges behind

"Hello, Kaede, my name is Haruto. Nice to meet you. Where is this place?"

By the small river, the boy in splendid clothes exhaled, turned around, and smiled, his smile like the first ray of morning sun.

He spoke the first words between them since they met to the girl in front of him.

...

The morning sun sprinkled through the forest, adding a touch of warmth.

The flowing river reflected some light under the sunlight.

Kaede sat on the ground with her legs hugged, staring blankly at the boy who was deep in thought.

Haruto had just learned from Kaede that the village they were in was called Shimokawa, and she was a child adopted by the village chief two years ago, but the village chief had recently caught a cold and passed away.

As for Haruto, Kaede had found him in the grass outside the village last night and brought him back.

Haruto sized up the child in front of him, her black hair draped over her shoulders, her wine-red eyes bright and clear, sparkling like morning dew, crystal clear.

Her tender, pretty face was smooth and delicate, making one want to reach out and touch it.

The plain linen clothes on her showed that her family was not wealthy.

"It must be Big Sister, no mistake," Haruto thought to himself.

Kaede looked at Haruto and couldn't help but ask, "I forgot to ask earlier, why were you unconscious in the grass?"

Haruto didn't know what to say for a moment, so he covered his head with his right hand, pretending to have a headache: "I don't know, my head hurts a bit, I don't remember many things."

He used the amnesia trick that countless transmigrator seniors had tried and tested.

"How is it? Is it serious?" Hearing this, Kaede's face instantly showed panic, and she asked with concern.

"It's nothing, it's not serious," Haruto waved his hand, then rubbed his head again, pretending that his headache had eased.

Seeing his complexion improve, Kaede tentatively asked, "Looking at your attire, you must be a young master from a family in Minato Harbor, right? Do you remember where your home is?"

"I, let me think," Haruto's voice trembled slightly, clearly indicating that he was not calm inside.

"Confirmed, it's Big Sister. I've transmigrated to Teyvat."

Although he confirmed his current location, he was not happy.

As a loyal allogene player, he was very familiar with Liyue and the continent of Teyvat.

So he also knew that there were many monsters here, and compared to his peaceful previous life, Teyvat was still much more dangerous.

Ultimately, he was just an ordinary person, as ordinary as could be.

Now transmigrating to a world with many dangers was not a good thing.

He cast aside the many distracting thoughts in his mind and began to sort out useful information.

Kaede was probably seven or eight years old now, so there were still nearly twenty years until the game's story began.

He looked down at his own attire.

He was wearing a black silk robe, which, although without any flashy patterns, was made of high-quality fabric, and the faint gold threads on it still showed its considerable value.

The dragon-shaped jade pendant hanging from his waist was simple in texture and exquisite in pattern.

His entire outfit exuded an extraordinary noble aura.

"What's with these clothes? Did I transmigrate into the body of some young master?"

Haruto felt a little confused about his identity.

He walked to the river and looked at the water, barely making out his current appearance.

His face at this moment was very similar to his pre-transmigration self, but his features were slightly more childish, in his childhood appearance, around seven or eight years old.

Then he lifted his clothes to look.

"Ah! Why don't you say anything when you lift your clothes in front of others?"

At this moment, Kaede did not expect Haruto to suddenly make this move, and quickly turned her head away, but still couldn't help but squint her eyes and sneak a peek.

The mole on his chest was still there, so it shouldn't be soul transmigration.

In his previous life, he had a noticeable mole on his chest, and the mole on this body was exactly the same, so it could be initially inferred that it was body transmigration, but he might have become his childhood self.

Haruto, who was lifting his clothes, suddenly froze, feeling a sudden piece of information in his mind. He immediately tidied his clothes, and with a thought, a page appeared in front of him.

This was a storage space, looking like an in-game inventory, but among so many slots, besides a feather fan and the amount of Mora above the slots, there was nothing else.

"44,681,980. Where did all this Mora come from? This thing looks just like the in-game inventory interface. Is this the amount of Mora in my account before I transmigrated? It seems like it was more than this, though."

The exchange rate between Mora and Yen is roughly forty-seven to one, so this much Mora is equivalent to about nine hundred thousand to one million.

Thinking of this, Haruto's face remained calm, but he was already laughing out loud internally.

This amount of Mora was not small. Although it wouldn't make him extremely rich, at least for a long time to come, he wouldn't have to worry about money.

He observed Kaede in front of him and found that her face showed no unusual expression.

Sure enough, others couldn't see it.

Haruto put away the inventory interface, then with a thought, a golden light flashed in his hand, and an elegant feather fan appeared.

Holding the white feather fan in his hand and fanning it gently added a touch of ethereal elegance to the boy.

Kaede stared blankly at the handsome boy in front of her, the light in her eyes constantly changing, as if deeply attracted by him.

He waved the feather fan in his hand towards the river, and a flame appeared out of thin air, spreading towards the river water.

Wherever the flame passed, fierce flames burned.

He waved the feather fan in his hand in the same direction again, and the flames dissipated.

Kaede, seeing such a magical scene, finally came back to her senses, her face instantly showing a hint of surprise.

"You, you, you, have a Vision?" Repeating "you" three times was enough to show how surprised Kaede was.

Haruto nodded slightly, taking out a sparkling, strangely shaped Shitou from an inner pocket of his clothes.

It felt light in his hand, as if weightless, but the hot sensation in his hand didn't seem fake.

Kaede looked at the Vision in front of her, her expression somewhat confused.

"I clearly remember not seeing it when I wiped you down earlier, could it be…"

Before she could finish speaking, meeting Haruto's gaze, Kaede suddenly remembered what she had said, her eyes darted away, and the blush that had not yet faded on her face deepened.

"Ah, when I found you, you were sleeping in the grass, and your body was inevitably a bit dirty, so it's perfectly reasonable for me to wipe you down, right?"

Kaede, who was eagerly explaining, found that after saying this, she seemed to have done nothing wrong. She crossed her arms and confidently met Haruto's gaze again.

"I haven't even said anything yet, why are you reacting so strongly?" Haruto took in Kaede's series of changes, feeling more speechless than anything else.

"Are you overreacting?"

Kids these days are quite precocious; they already know the difference between boys and girls. When he was her age, he didn't understand any of this.

"I'm not excited at all!" Kaede retorted loudly, then put her hands on her hips, her cheeks puffed out, her round face like an inflated pufferfish.

"This Vision should be something I just obtained; it's normal that you didn't see it before," Haruto chose not to dwell on the previous topic.

"Oh, I see," Kaede nodded, not continuing to speak.

When he was running away with Kaede, he felt something extra on him, but he didn't pay attention to it at first.

It was only when he checked the mole on his body just now that he found this thing in an inner pocket of his clothes.

But he felt that his ability to wield fire probably had nothing to do with this Vision; he felt a hot current spreading throughout his body, erupting from within, which then produced that flame.

That hot current should be element power, but it traveled throughout his body without touching the Vision.

As an external magical organ, a Vision should surely come into contact with element power during use, no matter how you think about it.

Besides that, his physical fitness also seemed good. After running such a long distance, Kaede was already panting, but he didn't feel the slightest fatigue.

Haruto stood up, and Kaede, seeing him like this, asked softly.

"How is it? Have you remembered anything?"

"I can't remember most things, I only remember that I'm an orphan and now I wander the world," Haruto smiled freely, as if these things were not a problem for him.

Kaede pouted and said nothing, but secretly doubted; Haruto's clean and neat attire didn't look like that of a wandering orphan at all.

But she thought about it and chose not to press further.

Haruto then turned to Kaede and asked, "What are your plans next?"

"None. I don't know what to do either. Maybe I'll have to keep wandering again. Anyway, I don't want to go back," Kaede shook her head, her voice revealing an unspeakable sense of loss.

Then she immediately cheered up, stood up, and said.

"I learned a lot from the village chief. I'm going to make a name for myself with my own abilities."

Kaede's body trembled slightly, as if her heart was not as calm as she appeared.

Haruto looked at the girl who had just been driven out of the village and was pretending to be strong, and an infinite sense of pity arose in his heart.

That's right, at this time, she was not yet the formidable Big Sister of the future; she was still just a pitiful child.

An innocent child, always subjected to deep malice from others.

He didn't know what Kaede was feeling at this moment, but even he, an observer, felt uncomfortable, so Kaede must have had an unspeakable grievance in her heart at this moment.

"Wandering alone is not easy."

"I plan to go to Minato Harbor next to make a living. Why don't you come with me? Consider it repaying your kindness."

Haruto extended his right hand to Kaede, inviting her.

He had actually thought of many ways to phrase it, but in the end, he just said a few simple words, directly expressing his most straightforward thought.

The sunlight shone from behind Haruto, enveloping him in a golden glow, giving him a sense of holiness. At this moment, Haruto was radiant.

Kaede stared blankly at Haruto, unconsciously and slowly grasping Haruto's outstretched hand, and stood up.

Kaede opened her mouth as if to say something, but then closed it again.

Seeing Kaede take his hand, Haruto's lips curled slightly, and his tone couldn't help but carry a hint of joy. Then he turned and pointed to the road ahead.

"Then, let's set off!"

Kaede looked at Haruto's energetic appearance, unconsciously infected by him, and shouted, "Okay, let's go!"

But then, she felt something was off: "Haruto, you seem to be going the wrong way. Minato Harbor is to the south."

"Not wrong. We're going back to get some revenge for you first," Haruto's voice came from ahead, like a gentle breeze, blowing away the gloom in Kaede's heart.
