Long Wei's voice snapped Xuan out of his daze. The vivid memories of Ru Feng flooded his mind, from their very first meeting to the gentle comfort of her hugs.
He let out a heavy sigh and looked at Bai Hua.
A guilty expression was etched on her face. Ru Feng and Bai Hua had gone together, but only Bai Hua had come back. She felt responsible, as if she had failed to protect Ru Feng, but then Xuan pulled her into an embrace.
This was sudden; she couldn't react when Xuan spoke, "it's not your fault." As if he could read her mind, he tried to make her feel less guilty.
Long Wei this time didn't show jealousy; instead, she also hugged them. "We'll find her and punish them for touching our family."

The other guard was stunned when Long Wei slapped the one who just made rude gestures. Even when she didn't use much strength, the guard who got slapped rolled a few meters before slamming into a nearby tree.
His nose was bleeding with his face turned beet red. Another guard backed away. "You dare to attack the Zhao family in Cloud Severing City!" He shouted, attracting others' attention.
More guards came, attracted by his shout.
When they saw one of the guards half-conscious with blood leaking from his face, they all surrounded Xuan and the others.
Xuan looked at them, his tone serious. "We have an urgent matter to discuss with the city lord. He had earlier invited us, so we have come now. Inform him and this will be resolved."

Upon hearing this, Zhao Zhen He's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe there was someone daring enough to attack the Zhao family in Cloud Severing City, but then the unconscious guard seemed to be evidence in front of her eyes.
Long Wei scoffed, "Now any rude pig can be called part of the Zhao family?"
Zhao Zen He looked at Long Wei. "What do you mean?" Her tone was angrier as if Long Wei had disrespected the Zhao family itself.
Long Wei continued with her mockery. "What? Did you get offended by me calling a pig a mere guard while the same pig was disrespecting your guests as dogs and nobodies?"
Now it was Zhao Zen He's time to be surprised. She looked back at the guard who was trying to save his face. "What guests? You are clearly lying. Who are you calling yourself to be a guest of the Zhao family?"
"So you are accepting that you were rude to us, right?" Xuan jumped in the conversation.
His words stunned the guards as Xuan continued, "As for whether we are guests or not, who are you to decide that when I clearly mentioned that we have an urgent matter to discuss with the city lord, and he is the one who invited us here?"
The guards wanted to retort when Zhao Zen He felt the guard's words weren't backed by his confidence while the people in front are calm, even when they are standing in front of the Zhao family manor.
She decided to ask, "You say you are my father's guest, right? May I know your identity? If what you say is correct, then I'll apologize personally and punish him for the disrespect."
She didn't mention what if they failed to prove their identity, as her words already carried the warning.
