At the hydroelectrical plant, James and Cassandra are having sex in a separate are of the hydroelectrical plant. After wards, the two lay naked together under a blanket.
Cassandra: I'm really glad we found a place with actual locks. It's good for rooms to relieve stress.
James: You're telling me, Cassandra-This is fucking heaven. I don't think I want to leave.
Cassandra: You ready for round two?
James: Well...uh...not yet. Is that okay? I mean, I enjoy it....but I want to enjoy our time together....just us....I don't want to make our marriage just about the sex. Is it okay if we just snuggle?
Cassandra: Sure, James. If that's what you want...big baby.
James: What? We've been in here in hours. I doubt you can find someone with that type of stamina, right? I'm fragile.
Cassandra: James Burton, you're not "fragile".
James: I knew you were going to run with that and I want to thank you for taking the joke in that direction.
Cassandra: No shit. I know how sensitive you are with being a "shit-sniffer".
James: Agh...I fucking knew Shawn told you that name at some point.
Cassandra laughs, before the two decide to cuddle.
James: See? Spooning is kinda nice.
Cassandra: It has it's perks as a married couple.
The two lay in silence before James speaks.
James: You know-we have been in here for a while. You think we should go out and make sure no one comes in here and wonders where we are.
Cassandra: Nah, I'm sure everything's fine. I'm not getting up until Maya comes beating on that door.
James: You know, I wanted to keep laying down naked with you....until you said that.
Having escaped certain death, Kyle, Sarah, Shawn and Rachel took a moment to breath.
Kyle: The fuck was he thinking?
Shawn: Fucking Charlie...if he's alive, I'm gonna kick his goddamn teeth in.
Sarah turns to Rachel.
Sarah: You see anything, Rachel?
Rachel: Yeah!
Rachel shines her light over at an overgrown, rusted emergency hatch that leads into the subway tunnels.
Kyle: Good job, kid.
Kyle goes to coax the hatch open and the four make their way in. It smells even worse than the sewers and soon they find out why. The place was completely flooded and was getting a horrible stench. Looking at the deep water, Rachel begins to have small panicked breathes.
Rachel: Uh, guys.....
Sarah: We'll find something for you.
They begin to look around for anything. Sarah then saw that one of the old subway trains was still in the tunnel. Seeing it was well, Rachel turns to the adults.
Rachel: Can one of you boost me up?
Kyle, Shawn and Sarah exchange a look before Sarah shrugs.
Sarah: It's either that or die smelling like shit.
Kyle sighs before he obliges.
Kyle: Be careful.
Kyle and Shawn go to stand next to the car and cup their hands. Rachel rolls her eyes and steps her foot into their hands as they boost her up. As she starts to walk forward on top of the old decrypted train car, Kyle, Shawn and Sarah stepped down into the freezing water and began swimming. One or two miles later, they start seeing a vague light up ahead, flickering against the walls of the pitch black.
Kyle: Rachel, stay where you are.
Shawn: We'll check it out.
Rachel: What? How come I can't go? I move more silently than you!
Kyle lets out an annoyed sigh then looks down.
Sarah: She's not wrong, Kyle.
Kyle was about to say something.
Shawn: Uh, guys....
Kyle and Sarah look up and notice Rachel was already gone.
Kyle: Goddammit....
Kyle turns to Sarah and Shawn.
Kyle: C'mon. Before she gets herself killed.
The three adults begin to swim, discreetly and quietly as much as they could. Though a few seconds laughing, Rachel is heard laughing.
Rachel Guys! It's okay!
Confused, the three adults continued swimming and when they get closer and could hear the voices clearly, they realized who Rachel found; Charlie and Elijah. Having left them for dead, Kyle and Shawn weren't too pleased to see Charlie. The three rounded a corner, and see Charlie, Rachel and Elijah sitting by a small campfire on some old maintenance platform. As Kyle, Shawn and Sarah climb up and walk towards them, Charlie beams.
Charlie: Hey! Good! To see you guys! You know; luckily, Elijah had a hunch that you guys would be down here so you should thank him for-
Charlie smiles, but Kyle punches him down to the ground and takes his gun.
Charlie: What the fuck is wrong with you?!
Kyle aims the gun at Charlie while Shawn grabs Elijah and holds a knife to his throat.
Shawn: Easy, buddy. Easy.
Rachel: Kyle! What the fuck?!
Charlie: It's fine-hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.....
Charlie holds his hand out towards Kyle.
Charlie: He's pissed off, but he's not gonna do shit.
Kyle presses his thumb down on the hammer of the gun.
Kyle: You wanna bet your life on that?
Sarah glares down at Charlie.
Elijah: Fucking stop!
Rachel: Kyle!
Shawn: What are we doing, Kyle?!
Kyle: This motherfucker left us to die out there.
Kyle still aims his gun at Charlie.
Charlie: Wrong. I knew you had a good chance at making it and you did....but Elijah was the one who wanted to go back for you....and it took a helluva lot of persuasion.
Elijah: Charlie...
Charlie: Elijah...I'm talking to the man.
Charlie stills looks at Kyle.
Charlie: If it was the other way around, would you have come back for us?
Realizing he wouldn't have, Kyle lets his gun down, before turning to Shawn and nodding to him, signaling Shawn to release Elijah, who immediately tends to Charlie.
Elijah: You okay, babe?
Charlie: No, I'm coo. It's okay.
Reunited, the group rests by the campfire for a few hours, before deciding to move on. Before Kyle, Shawn and Sarah jumped in the water, Charlie speaks up.
Charlie: We know a better way.
Charlie points down at the end of the platform, where there was a little door.
Charlie: This door should lead us up to the surface. Keep us from having to be trapped down here any longer.
Kyle turns to Sarah and gives her a look that pretty much asked what she thinks. She sighs then shrugs at this.
Sarah: Don't think we have much of a choice here.
The group makes their way towards the door. The door had been rusted up and the two men began to push their weight into the door until it budged. The structure starts to shirt and it looks like it would collapse at any moment. Luckily, the entire group made it through before that could happen. Just a small and narrower hallway of the maintenance room. The group enters the next room and could see silhouettes of a dozen infected and Stitchers, all twitching and screeching.
Kyle: Shit....
The group tries their best to get through without alerting any of the Skinners. The group began to run for their lives and hoped for an exit sign. After a few minutes of running, Kyle seem what looked like an exit door and he runs up to it and grabs the handle, only for it not to move.
Shawn: Fuck...
Kyle and Shawn look around and sees a ventilation hatch on top of the door. It was moving back and forth with the wind and letting in some sunlight.
Kyle: Rachel! C'mon!
Rachel doesn't hesitate as she goes over to Kyle and Shawn and they boost her up into the hatch. Charlie and Elijah, who had fallen behind, start to catch up, but then a infected grabbed Elijah by the leg and started to pull him back. Like an animal, the runner banged its arms against Elijah's back, making him scream in pain.
Charlie: Elijah!
Charlie tries to pull the creature off, but couldn't. Sarah pulls out her gun and fired at the infected in the head just as Rachel opened the door.
Rachel: Come on!
Charlie helps Elijah up and runs towards the door as they hear several Skinners coming their way. Kyle, Shawn and Sarah follow Charlie and make it outside then shut the door and pushed a vending machine up against the door. Taking a deep breath, Kyle and Sarah look at each other, before hearing Rachel vent.
Rachel: Are you fucking kidding me?
Shawn turns around and gives an annoyed look.
Shawn: Thanks for the warning while we were inside, guys.
Kyle and Sarah look to see the message written on the wall.
Do not Open
Skinners and infected inside.
DON'T FUCKING OPEN!
Charlie was looking in a different direction.
Charlie: Maybe we could rest over there, you know....let Elijah heal?
The other adults turn around and see an old train station, with a cargo train still by the platform.
Kyle: That could work.
The group starts to make their way over to it.
