Chapter 24 - season 2 final arc continues

MATCH TYPE: INVALID

Queue ID: None

Server Ping: NULL

Objective: —

Opponents: Unknown

Allies: None

[YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE]

11:11 PM

Blanco hit "Queue" but the game didn't load a map.

No lobby.

No warmup.

Just black.

He checked console:

+connect ghost_patch_test:000

"Error: match state undefined"

"Error: player untracked"

His ping was 0.

Tickrate: frozen.

Yet somehow—

he loaded in.

MAP: NONEFOUND

There was no skybox.

No textures.

Just a flat plane of dull concrete, stretching outward.

No killfeed.

No minimap.

No UI.

Only one thing floated in the distance:

A red box

spinning mid-air

with a label:

"START"

Blanco walked to it.

No footsteps.

His player model had no weapon.

He pressed "2" — nothing.

Pressed "E" — nothing.

Until the red box blinked.

"PLAYER DETECTED"

"PRE-TRAIT ZONE ACTIVATED"

"BEGIN SYSTEM STRIPDOWN"

[ALL TRAITS REMOVED]

— Ghost Delay

— No-Crate

— RAW.EXE

— Framebreaker

— Echoless

Gone.

Then:

"You are now... Playable."

"Your legend ends when you're fair."

Round Begins

There was no timer.

Just a hum

in the air

like electricity pulsing under fake silence.

Then Blanco saw it.

Another player model across the map.

It didn't have a name.

Didn't move.

Didn't blink.

But he felt it watching.

He moved forward.

It didn't react.

He crouched.

Still no change.

But the second he looked away—

gunshot.

Blanco turned.

Nothing there.

His HP dropped to 67.

No gunshot sound.

No enemy model movement.

Just… the damage.

And this message:

"Welcome to Unplayable."

Blanco backed off.

Reloaded —

but realized he still had no weapon.

Only the illusion of one.

When he clicked, nothing happened.

But the enemy staggered slightly.

This wasn't a gunfight.

It was a test.

Whoever that was—

wasn't trying to kill him.

They were trying to see if he'd panic.

Round 2 — Instinct vs Pattern

He tried moving random.

Left-right burst peeks.

Jiggle-fake into hard stop.

The enemy still tagged him.

Somehow tracking through his movement

like it was reading him frame by frame.

Not reaction.

Prediction.

Like an AI

with perfect memory

but no personality.

Blanco stood still.

Waited.

The shot missed.

He crouched.

Waited.

Enemy didn't fire.

He leaned left.

Flicked right.

Enemy shot — wide.

That's when Blanco understood:

It wasn't playing CS2.

It was playing a recording of his worst instincts.

This ghost was made from his bad plays.

Every whiff.

Every tilt peek.

Every hesitation.

The devs built it from his discarded data.

Round 3 — Reclaim the Feed

He walked mid.

Didn't rush.

Didn't bait.

Held W straight into the fire line.

Shot fired.

He moved late.

Still dodged.

Why?

Because he wasn't thinking like a player.

He was thinking like a patch.

And this wasn't a match.

It was a choke test.

He finally reached the red box again.

It now read:

"GHOST PROTOCOL PENDING"

"Accept raw memory override?"

He clicked yes.

The screen blinked.

Suddenly:

• HP: Restored

• Weapon: None

• Feed: Offline

• Sound: On

And behind him…

Footsteps.

Slow.

One step.

Pause.

Another.

But there was no one on the screen.

Only the sound of being watched.

Blanco crouched.

Closed his eyes.

Waited.

Then stood, turned, and aimed into pure black.

Click.

Contact.

Enemy body appeared mid-fall.

Dead before it existed.

Only then did the game respond:

[UNRECOGNIZED ENTITY DELETED]

"Ghost code has no echo."

The match collapsed.

Map faded.

System UI flickered back in.

Blanco's screen read:

"MATCH OVER: YOU ARE STILL NOT TRACKED"

"YOU ARE UNPLAYABLE BY DESIGN"
