Chapter 2 - QUADRAPLE TRADEGY

10 YEARS LATER AFTER HIGHSCHOOL

The door bell rings and Flora answered all happy and confused since everyone has arrived and their small reunion had started a few minutes ago.

Flora and William as well as Emily and Jared have been dating since highschool and were in the same class. They have been friends since highschool.

"How may I?..." Realization hits Flora. She remembers who the uninvited guest is. The uninvited guest had bought a wine together with them and was well dressed, already prepared for the occasion.

"You may come in." Flora, already a bit tipsy and moving to the side, providing space for the uninvited guest to come in. Flora asked no questions nor did she seem suspicious of the uninvited guest. One would say, no survival instincts, which was true, she had none.

"Guys, look who I found at our door step." She says and everyone's eyes were on the uninvited guest.

"Who invited you?" William asked, his eyes narrowing with confusion etched on his face as he stands up and walks to his already tipsy fiance, Flora.

"I overheard your conversation with Jared at the cafe and I decided to come as well. I'm hurt I wasn't invited." The uninvited guest replies playfully placing their hand on their heart.

"C'mon William, don't get worked up. They mean no harm. Come join us, we were in a middle of a game." Jared cuts in, he was drunk but still aware of their surroundings. William obliges and the uninvited guest joins them.

Few hours pass by as the room was filled with chatter and laughter. The uninvited guest became a guest in an instant. Foolish people. They were all drunk but not too drunk.

"Can I use the bathroom?" The uninvited guest asks.

"Yeah, the second last room on the left." William replies then proceeds to chatter with his friends. The uninvited guest heads right away wasting no time. It was time.

They enter the bathroom, locking the door behind them. As the uninvited guest sat on the toilet, they heard the sound of the power outage hitting the house, plunging the bathroom into darkness. A cruel smile played on their lips.

After the power went out, the four friends had panicked and decided to split up, hoping to find a way to escape the house and call for help. Little did they know, the uninvited guest made sure no phone gets a signal, leaving them with no means of communication.

First, the uninvited guest encountered Emily, who had retreated to the kitchen, desperately searching for a flashlight or any source of light. They crept up behind her, a small, sharp knife clutched tightly in their hand. As Emily turned around, they plunged the knife into her chest, twisting it. Emilys eyes widened in shock as her hand clutched her open wound that was bleeding out. Her body starts to fall down slowly as life leaves her eyes and she dies.

Leaving her there, the guest looks for another prey.

Jared was in the bathroom the guest was, searching to check up on the guest.

"Aww came to check up on me, how cute." The guest smirking as they observe Jareds face changing from relief to fear after seeing at what state the guest was in. The guest has blood on their shirt and a bloody knife in their hands.

Since the guest is standing in the doorway, he tries to scramble away, by pushing past the guest but the guest was too quick and strong. The guest grabbed him by the throat, slamming him against the wall with a sickening thud. He clawed at the guests hands, his fingers digging into the guests skin, but the guest didn't relent. The guest squeezed tighter, feeling their windpipe compress under their grip.

Jareds eyes bulged, his face turning a sickly shade of purple as he gasped for air. He kicked and thrashed, but the guest held on, their muscles coiled with a strength born of years of pent-up rage and resentment.

As Jared struggles grew weaker, the guest leaned in close, their lips brushing against his ear. "You should have helped when you had the chance," the guest whispered, their voice a sinister hiss. "Now, you'll pay the price."

With a final, brutal squeeze, the guest felt Jareds body go limp in their arms. The guest let him slide to the floor, his lifeless eyes staring up at the guest accusingly. The guest had taken revenge on him, just as they had on Emily.

The guest left Jareds body behind, moving silently through the darkened house in search of the other target. The guest could hear Flora's panicked breathing, could sense her presence in the study down the hall.

As they entered the room, Flora whirled around, a heavy book clutched in her trembling hands after seeing all the blood on the guest. "Stay back!" she screamed, brandishing the tome like a weapon. "I'll fight you if I have to!"

But the guest just laughed, a cold, mirthless sound that echoed through the room. "You'll fight me? How sad. You can try."

Flora backed away, her heart pounding in her chest as the guest advanced. Suddenly, the study door burst open, and William rushed in, his face etched with fear and desperation.

"----(the guest name), stop!" he yelled, throwing himself between the two. "Don't do this, please!"

But The guest was too quick. The guest sidestepped William's attempt to protect Flora, and in a flash, they plunged the knife into his chest. William's eyes widened in shock and pain as the blade pierced his heart, and he stumbled back, clutching at the wound.

Flora screamed, dropping the heavy book and rushing to William's side. "William! Oh God, no!" she cried, cradling him in her arms as he collapsed, his life bleeding out onto the study floor.

The guest stood over them, a cruel smile playing on their lips as they watched Flora try in vain to stem the flow of blood with her bare hands.

"You should have never done what you did, all of you." The guest said coldly, their voice devoid of emotion. "Now, you'll both pay the price for your cowardice."

As Flora looked up at the guest, tears streaming down her face, "You...you're the killer they have been talking about on the news."

The guest raised the knife high above her head. Flora opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. The last thing she saw was the glint of the blade as it descended towards her throat.

With a final, brutal slash, the guest slashed Floras throat, leaving her lifeless on the floor.

The guest got rid of all the evidence that would lead to them, including the wine. Left all the the bodies behind for the police to find. The first killer of the small town, Ravenswood.

Few hours later after the bodies had been found

Announcer (voice grave):

"We interrupt your regular programming for BREAKING NEWS:

Multiple fatalities reported at a residential home in suburban Ravenswood.

Details emerging:

- 4 victims found deceased inside the house

- Police on scene confirm NO signs of forced entry or struggle."

LIVE FROM THE SCENE:

(Police Chief, James Wilson, microphone in hand)

Chief Wilson:

"This is a horrific crime scene. Four individuals, believed to be friends reunited at this residence, have lost their lives.

Preliminary investigation suggests the killer may have been known to the victims... The killer seems to be the same killer that has killed other residents of our town. We will never rest until we find the killer that has disturbed our towns peace."

A year had passed and there were no leads of the killer. The police had also given up since the killer had stopped after killing of those 4 victims. The killer had killed 34 people who resided in Ravenswood.

The peace had seemed to have come back to the small town. There was a city, not far from the town but not close either, where people of Ravenswood would move to for a better lifestyle. That's where Jessica, Logan as well as Avery had moved to and entered college together there, graduated and formed happy families. How sweet...
