Chapter 24 - 24

Thank you."

Despite Snape's cold attitude, Chu Yang politely bid him farewell.

"Slytherin is different from the other houses; the students here are very hostile towards non-pureblood wizards.

If you can't protect yourself, leave early, lest you lose your life here."

Snape unexpectedly added another sentence.

Then he walked out of the common room without looking back.

A sharp tongue, but a kind heart.

Looking at Snape's tsundere back, Chu Yang shook his head and walked up the stairs leading to the boys' dormitory.

Chu Yang walked into the room, and before his eyes was a row of beds with dark green curtains.

Unlike Gryffindor's relatively cheerful atmosphere, the Slytherin boys were somewhat serious.

They weren't excitedly playing around in the dormitory; instead, they were preparing to decide on the dormitory's leader.

As for what they would compete with...

Of course, it was their proud family backgrounds.

Whoever had a more prominent family background would have more say and a dominant position in the dormitory.

Draco Malfoy wasn't here, so for a time, these boys couldn't determine who was superior.

But what was certain was that a non-pureblood like Chu Yang would definitely have the lowest status.

"Why are you here!"

Goyle, who was arguing, saw Chu Yang standing at the dormitory entrance and immediately shouted loudly.

The new students all shifted their gaze to Chu Yang, then remembered the astonishing scene in the Great Hall earlier.

"Isn't he Muggle-born? How could he be sorted into Slytherin?"

Crabbe and Goyle, who knew Chu Yang's background, whispered to the new students around them.

After a while, everyone knew Chu Yang's true identity.

The new students who had just wanted to welcome Chu Yang immediately changed their expressions.

Everyone very tacitly formed a united front, glaring at him with hostile eyes.

"Excuse me, please leave.

This is the great Slytherin House, not a place for a non-pureblood wizard like you.

You must have come to the wrong place."

Blase Zabini, with dark skin, stepped forward and looked at Chu Yang with a disdainful and disgusted expression.

Chu Yang looked at these classmates who regarded him as an enemy, and the corners of his mouth slightly curved upwards, "You don't like me appearing here, and I happen to have the same thought.

Even when I was in the orphanage, I only liked sleeping in a private room!"

"A communal dormitory really isn't suitable for me, so you'd best obediently get out and let me sleep peacefully.

Otherwise, many people might not be able to attend class tomorrow, and if Slytherin loses points, I'll be in a lot of trouble."

"A lowly Mudblood dares to threaten us?"

Chu Yang's attitude provoked Blase's pureblood wizard's self-esteem, "This isn't your territory, you Eastern fellow!"

"I remember there doesn't seem to be a wizard profession in Africa; there are only shamans there."

Chu Yang immediately sneered, "I heard your ancestors learned magic in a cotton field."

Blase, who had African ancestry, immediately became furious!

He rushed straight at Chu Yang, intending to let this slender Easterner feel his strength!

The scene was somewhat comical; Blase, who prided himself on being a pureblood wizard, was actually going to use his fists to teach someone a lesson, because he hadn't learned any offensive magic yet.

And while Blase and Chu Yang were clashing, Goyle and Crabbe tacitly retreated.

They still believed that Malfoy's encounter might be related to Chu Yang.

Though they were foolish, their intuition was quite sharp.

How much of a threat could an 11-year-old child's fist be?

Chu Yang didn't even bother to dodge, seizing the opportunity to kick Blase squarely in the abdomen.

Blase felt a huge force violently hit him.

As pain swept over him, even his consciousness began to blur, and he just felt himself flying.

In fact, he was indeed kicked flying by Chu Yang, and after landing, he slid several meters on the smooth floor, being directly propelled by inertia under the bed.

Blase immediately fell into a dizzy state.

The others were even more startled!

With just a casual kick, the strong Blase was knocked unconscious by Chu Yang.

"Damn it, let's all go together and drive him out of Slytherin!"

Everyone swarmed forward, intending to overwhelm Chu Yang with numbers, and the sounds of fighting also attracted new students from other dormitories.

After learning the whole story, they resolutely joined the ranks against Chu Yang.

At this time, Goyle and Crabbe again tacitly retreated.

Their intuition was still accurate.

In a few breaths, a group of 11-year-old children lay on the ground, foaming at the mouth.

Chu Yang clapped his hands and smiled at the two of them, "If you don't mind, please take these pieces of trash out when you leave, and try not to disturb my sleep, okay?"

Goyle and Crabbe nodded frantically like chickens pecking rice.

Afterward, Chu Yang found a window-side bed where he could admire the mysterious creatures at the bottom of the lake, deftly took off his robes, burrowed into the soft covers, closed his eyes, and showed a comfortable smile.

Goyle and Crabbe carefully moved the boys out of the room one by one, afraid of disturbing Chu Yang's sleep.

While moving Blase, Goyle had a momentary lapse, causing Blase's head to hit the bed leg with a dull thud.

Chu Yang's eyelids twitched, but he didn't open them, merely showing an impatient expression.

Goyle and Crabbe were scared out of their wits, trembling as they slowly dragged the person out of the room.

As the two tiptoed and closed the door, Chu Yang smiled and completely fell into a dream.

Looking at the new students lying all over the common room, Goyle and Crabbe, busy and sweating profusely, found comfortable sofas to lie down on with bitter expressions.

The fireplace fire burned brightly, but it couldn't dispel the dampness on the ground.

After all, this was at the bottom of the Black Lake, and if these new students lay there until dawn, most of them would catch a cold.

Chapter 36 Professor McGonagall's Little Test

The next day, Chu Yang walked out of the dormitory with his toiletries and headed towards the washroom.

Passing the common room, he saw his roommates sound asleep on the floor.

Goyle and Crabbe hadn't woken up yet, and their snoring almost collapsed the ceiling, but even so, those sleeping on the floor still hadn't woken up.

They were all sleeping very soundly.

"Good luck to you all.

This is the first day of school; don't be late, hmm... that should be very difficult."

Unfortunately, no one could hear Chu Yang's sarcasm.

After a simple wash and getting dressed, he picked up his textbook and left the dormitory.

Not long after Chu Yang left, the senior students gradually came out of their dormitories.

Some were still yawning, but their eyes were instantly drawn to the new students in the common room.

They lay on the ground like knocked-down bowling pins, scattered and disorderly.

"Wow, it seems the junior students had a great time last night!"

"I really envy these carefree first-years."

"But, did they forget that there's class on the first day of school?"

"It seems they had a pleasant holiday and are still immersed in it."

"Does anyone know what their first class is?"

"Probably Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class?"

"And the second?"

"Professor Snape's Potions class..."

"Hurry up and wake them all up!

Damn it, our house is going to lose points on the first day of school!"

The senior students suddenly realized, especially the prefects.

When they thought that they would have to face the terrifying Professor Snape if something went wrong, their hearts sank to the bottom.

What kind of situation was this on the first day of school?

The strong senior students anxiously used force to wake up the new students sleeping on the floor.

Poor Goyle was still dreaming of delicious food when he was slapped awake by a strong and stout senior student.

"Ouch!" Goyle woke up from his dream, covering his red cheek with one hand, looking blankly ahead, saliva dripping down.

"Hurry up and take your books and get to class!"

The senior student glared, so many new students sleeping here, who knew how many points Slytherin House would lose?

However, the senior students quickly despaired, because all the new students who slept in the common room last night, with the exception of Goyle and Crabbe, had caught colds without exception.

Forget about attending class, they didn't even have the strength to stand up.

The Slytherin common room immediately became a mess, but Chu Yang, the instigator, had already gone downstairs to the ground floor hall, had breakfast in the Great Hall, and then leisurely arrived at the classroom.

The classroom was empty; Chu Yang was the earliest student to arrive.

He walked directly to the podium and greeted the tabby cat on the table, "Good morning, Professor McGonagall."

A human-like look of surprise appeared on the tabby cat's face, and then it leaped into mid-air, transforming back into human form.

Professor McGonagall, dressed in dark green robes, walked in front of Chu Yang and asked, "How did you know it was me?"

Chu Yang smiled and held up the textbook in his hand, "We have Transfiguration class today, don't we?"

"You are indeed a clever child.

Your observational skills and logical thinking abilities are both excellent.

A wizard who is good at thinking is a good wizard."

Professor McGonagall did not stint on her praise.

She had already received enough information about Chu Yang from Dumbledore.

And Dumbledore's high hopes for him.

While other students hadn't arrived yet, during her leisure time, Professor McGonagall chatted with Chu Yang about the content of the textbook.

She then surprisingly discovered that Chu Yang had already memorized "A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration" by heart.

Professor McGonagall was pleasantly surprised by Chu Yang's performance, but still reminded him, "I'm very glad you can read this book thoroughly, but before that, you should first understand Magic Theory.

Carelessly dabbling in Transfiguration is a very dangerous thing."

Chu Yang, of course, knew the importance of fundamentals.

Just as Professor McGonagall said, he had first memorized "Magic Theory" before reading "A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration."

"Thank you for your advice."

Chu Yang accepted Professor McGonagall's kindness and smiled, "If you are referring to Mr. Adalbert Waffling's work, then I have indeed read it thoroughly."

Professor McGonagall thought she had misheard and asked in surprise, "That book is not thin, Mr. Chu Yang.

Are you sure you 'read it thoroughly'? If you say so, then I'll have to give you a good test!"

"Yes, Professor McGonagall."

Chu Yang would not miss any opportunity to showcase himself.

These matters were related to whether he could access the knowledge Dumbledore considered "dangerous" as early as possible.

That knowledge could greatly enhance Chu Yang's abilities and bring help to his counterparts in other worlds.

Professor McGonagall, with a hint of anticipation, began to test Chu Yang's fundamental knowledge.

In the empty classroom, the two engaged in a question-and-answer session.

Soon, Hermione, another top student in the first year, also appeared at the classroom door, but she did not interrupt Professor McGonagall's test of Chu Yang, instead standing there silently listening.

Chu Yang was like a high-speed operating machine, answering every question Professor McGonagall posed without hesitation, with no extra thinking time in between.

As time passed, the noisy sounds of students gradually came from outside the classroom.

Professor McGonagall stopped the test and praised, "Your memory is truly impressive, and most importantly, you not only remembered that knowledge but also fully understood it."

"You are entirely worthy of Dumbledore's special regard, but you must remember never to be arrogant or complacent.

Arrogance is a great taboo for a wizard; humility will allow you to go further."

"I heard that you requested Headmaster Dumbledore to open more library areas, wanting to gain more knowledge.

Decades ago, there was also a talented young man like you, but he went down a wrong path."

Chu Yang calmly replied, "Professor McGonagall, thank you for your advice, but there are no two completely identical flowers in the world, and people are the same.

Two seemingly similar people will achieve completely different results due to different growth trajectories."

"I hope so."

Professor McGonagall showed a look of emotion, then waved her hand and said, "Class is about to start, quickly go and sit in your seat."
