Chapter 1 - From Grief to Shadow

A shout of terror of a 10 -year -old boy flooded the destroyed room.

The body of a mother who has been killed remained lying on the ground, stained with blood, with her head crushed by a huge stone that fell on her.

The little boy ran towards her, and with all the pain in the world, he did not mind staining his blood to hug her and give him a last goodbye.

The murderer was present, with bloody hands, his black latex suit was completely clean despite the fact that his hands had been stained.

With hate, resentment and pain, the child looked at his murderer of his mother stared at his face, seeking to want to see him in the eye, but he did not find them, because those human eyes have been replaced by a couple of empty basins, which showed dominance and power.

"Who are you? Get out of here!"

The boy shouted with anger, but the murderer did not obey, and of course, how was it going to be possible for a murderer to pay attention to a 10 -year weak child who had just lost his mother and who cried disconsolably his death?

However, the murderer had what to do with the little one.

Without thinking, the murderer approached the child, and looked at him with determination and then say:

"The pain you feel now ... is the only teacher who will never lie to you. I can turn it into power. Or you can die here hugging the dead."

The child, feeling that his heart is filled with hate, tries to hit the murderer, but instead of feeling attacked or pretending to defend himself, the murderer simply looked at the child in the eye, and proudly smiled at his own decision.

"Good, my little one. You have fury, courage. That will help you"

Without having the opportunity to complain or resist, the murderer loaded the child on his shoulders, as if it were a fruit sack, when pronouncing gently, almost in a whisper the word Kael'numen that translates "path without return", and then, both disappeared from the world of humans to cross a black portal that opened before them.

*** 10 years later ... ***

A 20 -year -old boy trained fencing with the figure of a man who already considered himself as an old man. The old man wore a black robe, but discovered his head, showing his long white hair falling on his shoulders, as well as his beard.

His eyes were cold, but the old man proudly looked at the boy's training, since the boy loved him as his son, despite the fact that the boy did not see him as a father, because he only saw him as his goal of revenge, and of which he had accepted for so long to live by his side and be trained by him to become who he was now and, finally, to end with so much suffering that he was protected inside his heart.

"Very well, we have finished training. You can rest for today, do you have plans for tonight?" The old man said patiently.

The boy stopped training, closed his training with a farewell position in front of his teacher, and tried to recover his breathing, his tranquility, because the training has been quite heavy, and it was time to rest.

"No, I'll stay home. I want to rest tonight, and I want to be alone," he replied.

Although his response was a lie, since the boy did have plans, in all those years of training, living in the world of Assassin, sharing classes of dark magic and combat training with his supposed "father", the boy always took an excuse to avoid wanting to share quality time with the old man.

The old man, who had adopted him as his son, was the same who murdered his mother a few years ago. As soon as they reached his world, the old man did not hesitate to demonstrate his true identity in front of the boy, acting as if nothing had happened while he was with his heart shattered by the death of his mother and his kidnapping.

Before, the old man was younger, his hair was brown, he was still long, but he didn't look a beard. His energy was stronger than ever, but over the years, he became weaker, and when he began to notice, he decided that it was time for the rescued child to begin with his training as Assassin.

With the passage of time, the child proved to be very skilled, left the pain of his mother's death aside to be what it is now, however, that pain never died, and less since he knew that after that day, he would share his life next to man who did so much damage, snatching what he loved most; His mother.

Every night, Evan was studying. He studied advanced dark magic books, although he was prohibited from doing so, since he was still at an intermediate level of study to achieve magic as powerful as the dark. In fact, he was still wrong with certain spells to achieve some on his own without ending up destroying something or putting his life in danger.

If he studied hidden, it is not because his "father" had forbidden him to do it, it was quite the opposite, he liked his "son" to spend his valuable time in knowledge instead of walking by committing teenage cramps without control.

What the ancient Assassin did not know was that Evan was studying, not because he would like to improve on his own, rather, he did it because he knew that one day that moment would come when he would avenge the death of his mother, and that to achieve it, he must be much stronger than his own opponent: the murderer.

"Are you going to continue studying in hiding from me, isn't it?" Asked the murderer after a few moments of silence that were drawn between them when they started walking home.

Evan looked at his father, he was insecure of himself telling him the truth or not of what he did in his room at night, but in the same way, he had realized that, in effect, the old man knew about what he did, and if he had realized for himself, surely his plans must change so as not to be discovered before being able to achieve his goal.

"Yes, I like staying late studying a little. Do you have any problem with it?"

The old man stared into his eyes, as if he were doubting that his answer was sincere, but then decided to relax, since he knew that if he questioned the boy, it was losing his total confidence, and that was not convenient for either of them because he could affect his coexistence at home.

"No, it's perfect. I like you to study, so I can trust you for when the time of your first mission as Assassin comes.

The boy simply nodded and continued walking home together.
