Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Anwar's Honesty

"Tell me about this war."

Anwar nods toward Zephariel, sombre and solemn. His face grows a shade darker. His eyes lose their joyful sparkle, which he had shown just a few moments ago when Yoru was still in the room. The light slanting through the window glass accentuates his sharp features and the tough, hardened muscles that a god of his stature is bound to have. Zephariel sighs, wondering what Yoru had seen in that feeble Hanu to make him so blind to the real diamond hidden in plain sight before him all the time.

"The war is a way to seal Yuriel."

"Yuriel? The name sounds familiar." Anwar strokes his chin contemplatively. "Isn't he that Supreme Deity whom we are forbidden to conjure?"

"Yes." With a heavy heart, Zephariel agrees. His downcast eyes waver, and they show a brilliant ocean on the edge of a brutal storm. "He is here. And Yoru is the one who conjures him. Or rather, maybe all of this mess was orchestrated from the start by Mother Genesis herself."
