Chapter 2 - What Do You Truly Desire?

"You have three wishes, mortal. But beware—the price of desire is never simple."

The voice echoed through the void, both everywhere and nowhere. It wasn't sound. It was sensation—a pulse in his soul. Nick's heart thudded in his chest. Before him stood gods: radiant beings of incomprehensible power, shaped by thought and time and cosmic law. He was a speck before them. Yet somehow, he mattered.

Three wishes.

He could change the course of his existence—but what was the cost? He'd just seen one of them, a being draped in rags and darkness, pierced by a glowing spear. Betrayed. Condemned.

"Wait—what was that battle?" Nick blurted, his voice cracking. "Who was that… that beggar-looking man? What did he steal from you? What did I walk into?"

The gods remained silent.

Nick exhaled shakily. "Look, I don't want to fight anyone. I don't want to be your enemy. But… did you say three wishes? As in, anything?"

"Yes," the golden-haired god intoned with quiet grandeur. "Any three things. That is your right, as one who has glimpsed the truth."

Nick narrowed his eyes, thoughts racing. "Okay… First wish: I want a system. Personalized. Intelligent. Integrated with my soul."

The gods remained still.

"Second: I want it to allow me to travel to different fictional and real worlds—anime, games, historical eras, even alternate Earths."

Still no response.

"And third," Nick said, a little more boldly, "I want full compatibility in every world. No nerfs. No memory wipes. No BS. I want to keep everything—skills, stats, growth—and continue evolving without reset."

For a moment, there was silence.

Then the silver-haired goddess, the one who weaved time like thread, nodded. "It is done. But remember, mortal… letting you live is a luxury. Your soul carries weight now. Do not speak of this encounter. Ever."

As her words ended, a glowing chain of light coiled around Nick's soul. He gasped as it constricted—binding something deeper than flesh. Then, just as fast, it shattered.

Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)

My Hero Academia

Attack on Titan

Nick blinked. "Well, My Hero's quirk system is… meh. And Attack on Titan? No thanks. Not trying to get eaten by a 20-meter naked giant."

He sighed. "Guess it's Demon Slayer."

[World Selected: Kimetsu no Yaiba][Choose Difficulty Level:]Normal – Intermediate – Hard – Nightmarish – Arduous – Herculean – Mythical(Note: Difficulties from Arduous upward may contain other System Users.)

Nick's eyes gleamed. Other system users? That made things far more interesting.

 A Place Beyond Realms

In a temple that lay between time and causality, cosmic deities watched Nick's soul drift toward its destination. They whispered among themselves, not in voices, but in laws. A mortal with soul strength close to divine—yet burdened by uncertainty. He could become a king… or a calamity.

The golden-haired god rested his chin on his knuckles. "Let's see how far he gets."

Nick gasped awake.

Cold air. Empty silence. Darkness that felt alive. He was lying on damp stone, surrounded by ancient trees and distant whispers.

He rose to his feet, dizzy. "Where… where am I?"

Then it came back to him. The gods. The wishes. The System.

"System," he croaked. "Open."

Nothing.

"System—show? Reveal yourself? Do something!"

[Help: Host should be polite to System.]

Nick blinked. "Wait. Is this thing sentient?"

He cleared his throat. "I humbly beseech the great and glorious system to reveal its infinite wisdom to me."

[You can stop the bootlicking now.]

Nick stared at the screen. "Looks basic. But I can work with this."

He crossed his arms. "So… what are your actual functions?"

[I provide quests, guidance, status updates, and rewards. Complete tasks to evolve. Fail them… and I won't protect you.][Note: I am not your master. Nor are you mine. Our contract is soul-bound. I cannot force your will, and you cannot dismantle me.]

Nick raised an eyebrow. "So we're equals?"

[In a way. I was born from a dying concept—the idea of balance. I've existed across 998 failed timelines. You are my final attempt.][Do not treat this like a game. The choices you make will determine the course of entire realities.]

Nick paused. A chill ran down his spine.

"…What tasks do I have, then?"

Tasks are divided into four categories:

System Tasks

ISA (International System Association) Tasks

Connected Tasks

Concealed Tasks

 ISA — International System Association

[ISA TASKS:]

Kill other System Holders Reward: Inherit any ability or passive from their system

Complete dimensional objectives Reward: ISA Rank and system expansions

Survive cross-dimensional audits Reward: ISA protection or exile

The ISA is a cross-dimensional force of former System Users who survived long enough to ascend. They maintain order across fractured worlds, destroy rogue systems, and hunt entities who tamper with fate. Their rule is law in over 70,000 worlds—and they're watching.

System Tasks (Yours Alone):

Reach peak existence in this world

Uncover your true location

Ensure the survival of the Main Cast

Connected Tasks (Story-based):

Become a Demon Slayer / Become a Demon

Become a Kinoe / Lower Moon

Become a Hashira / Upper Moon

Kill Muzan Kibutsuji / Become the New Demon King Rewards hidden until completion

{Concealed Tasks Locked}

Nick sat on a tree stump, heart thumping. A part of him still wanted to believe this was a dream. But the cold air, the pressure in his chest, the sheer clarity—this was real.

He took a deep breath. "So… I'm in the Demon Slayer world, with a system designed by the gods, and now the ISA might be watching me like a surveillance drone from hell."

[Correct.][But remember: the System cannot harm you, cannot override you, and cannot make choices for you. I can suggest. You decide.]

That gave him comfort. A small one, but comfort nonetheless.

He chuckled. "Alright. I've used my three wishes. You're all I have now. Let's do this, System."
