Chapter 30 - Shilas the Artifact...

Saquin blinked out of the starship and appeared in the warehouse interior.

"Cool place."

Saquin commented as he surveyed the interior. He had seen the general outline with his Spatial Awareness and through the Starship, but this was his first time actually seeing it all.

The whole warehouse was like a huge rectangular black box with an opened roof. Saquin could see multiple doors across the warehouse wall. Each of the doors had a screen in front of it which can be used to unlock them.

As he was taking in the view, one of the doors automatically opened up.

"Greetings, Master."

A lady had appeared, kneeling, right before Saquin. She was a delicate beauty, looks young but with an aura of someone definitely above their early twenties.

Fast.

Saquin noted. She has crossed the distance between the door and him before he could properly react.

"You are?" He asked.

"I am the Tier Four artifact, Shalis." The lady replied. She looked up to him, her white bangs covered up her bright, fiery green eyes.

"Okay." Saquin nodded at her.

An artifact, so he is definitely not human... Or zombie. He thought to himself as he scrutinized her.

Meanwhile, to the World Will, he said. "Is she part of your gifts?"

[ Yes and no.]

The World Will replied almost immediately.

[ She is amongst the Captain's asset. He had stationed her here to protect you and also prevent your escape. Now that I have transferred everything of the Captain to you, she is now officially yours. ]

"I can't really say I like the way you said yours, but okay." Saquin paused, then. "I do have a question though. She said she is an artifact, not entirely sure what those are, but she is definitely not a technogical piece but an Empowered item. So, how can she be mine without some kind of bonding."

[ I did overwrite the captain's control over her and transferred it to you. But, yes, you do have to bond her to gain true control over her. ]

"How do I do that?"

[ Touch her forehead and transfer Senar into her. ]

"Okay."

Saquin raised his right hand and touched Shalis, who had remained in the same position, on her forehead.

A pulse of blue colored energy flowed from Saquin into her.

Then.

Boom!

A small explosion occurred in Shalis body as her green eyes went through a change of color into blue shining crystalline eyes.

At he same time.

Saquin felt like a bit surreal, like he had gained an extract body.

He tilted his head as he stared at Shalis.

"What is the difference between a Core and an Artifact?" He asked World Will.

[ I am not your teacher. Go ask the Internet or something. ]

"Can't say I didn't expect that." Saquin shrugged.

He knew that she would not be so accessible that he could question her for everything he wanted. Especially, since she seemed adamant about the idea of him attending an Academy. He just felt he should give it a try.

"If you can't answer that, at least could you tell me how strong she is? Like roughly."

Saquin posed another question.

[ Ask her. You know she is sentient right? ]

"Wait, like sentient sentient?"

[ Yep. ]

"Woah, I thought it was more of AI level sentient."

[ AIs are not sentient. ]

"That is weird coming from you."

[ I am not an AI. I am a Will, they are not even in the same breath of existence. ]

"Of course, they aren't."

[ I know you are trying to get to me for not replying your stupid question. So, I won't talk to you again... For a while. ]

Saquin did not reply.

He turned to Shalis.

"So, Shalis."

"Yes, master?" Shalis replied immediately.

"I know you are sentient, I don't know why or how that is possible, but you should feel free to act like yourself." Saquin told her.

"Okay, master." She nodded in reply.

Saquin noted that her body relaxed a bit after what he said.

He was not sure if her earlier stiffness was done on purpose so she could better serve him. So, when he told her to become normal, she relaxed.

Or, if he truly had so much control over her that he could literally direct how she behaved to the minute detail.

For some reason, he hoped it was the former. The idea that a sentient being could be controlled to thw extent of the latter did not sit well with him, at all.

"How strong are you?" After pushing away his thoughts, he asked.

"Is master worried about his safety?" Shalis asked.

"You don't have to, I am a Tier 4 artifact, I can assuredly guarantee Master's protection in this part of the galaxy." She replied herself before Saquin could talk.

Saquin blinked at her answer. "I am not really worried about my safety. I just wanted to know how strong you are."

"Okay, master. I had jumped to conclusion." Shalis replied with a apologetic voice.

"You don't have to be sorry or anything. I was just saying..." Saquin paused. "Anyways, what I do really want to know is if you are familiar with this planet."

"I am, master." Shalis affirmed.

"Good. I am heading over to the nearest city, meet me there."

"Meet you there?" Shalis blinked.

"Yes, meet me there." Saquin repeated.

"Are you saying, I should do something her and come and meet you?" Shalis tried to confirm what Saquin was saying.

"No, I will head over now and you meet me there. Why don't you understand?" At this point, even Saquin was getting confused.

Why can't she understand me... Is she broken? I just got her.

[ It is simple, she just cannot believe you have a means to get there before her. ]

Huh?

[ You are about to use teleportation right? ]

Yep.

[ A normal Senar Initiate wouldn't be able to pull off what you are about to do. ]

Ohhh!

Saquin finally understood the crud of the confusion.

"Shalis, just watch." He said to her as he activated the skill, Teleportation, for the first time.

Teleportation.

The second skill granted by Prince Of Space. It allowed the user to teleport both him or her self and others to a distant location in your magnified Spatial Awareness.

The skill's power is determined by the user's Senar reserve, while the range is entirely dependent on the user's comprehension of space.

As the Prince Of Space, magnifying his Spatial Awareness to a couple more kilometers with the skill was a piece of cake.

While for his Senar reserve?

He felt he could teleport the whole warehouse if he as much as wished to.

Saquin faced the direction of the nearby city, and pushed his Spatial Awareness towards that direction.

Unlike his normal Spatial Awareness, he couldn't really see with this one. He could merely feel what was in a specific area if he focused on it.

He reached the outskirt of the city in but a mere second. He picked a location there and in a blink, he disappeared.

"Teleportation." Shalis muttered as she saw Saquin's body vanished.

"Wait, why can't I sense master anywhere nearby." Her eyes widened in surprise as she could not feel Saquin in her over two kilometer Awareness range.

Meanwhile.

Saquin appeared in a vast plain of death stench, up ahead was a the city. A city he could not see inside of due to the towering walls.

"Teleportation is nice."

Saquin commented as he started walking towards the entrance of the city.

[ I thought you show more emotion. ]

"For a city?"

[ Nope. I meant with Shilas. ]

"Why? I mean she is beautiful, but not Mia beautiful. Oh wait, you don't know who Mia is."

[ I know who she is. I didn't think she would meet you in your Trial. Meaning, Miss Margaret went wild and our beloved princess is most likely dead by now. What I am actually talking about is her calling you master. ]

"Huh?"

[ She calls you master, you can say she is your servant. Some may say slave. ]

"Huh?"
