Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Thankfully with myself being the sun god I am one of the ones left not turned into a lifeless empty shell like the statues of Ancient Egypt. This is because every religion in some way or another acknowledges the sun. Thankfully for us since we are divine beings we can gather the energy we need if we are in an environment that suits us. Although it's not as fast as when followers would worship us in some way or another. When followers worship us we can be restored to our original splendor faster but that also is dependent on how many followers there are that are worshiping us. The stumbling block with this for those who are already in their statue-like state may be getting them enough energy via worship or even from the energy from the environment.

Thankfully everyone agreed on not just stashing them away like the ceremonial pieces from times of old in a place that suits them until they have enough energy to awaken. This is because we had to helplessly watch as the mortals called grave robbers, later some were called tomb raiders, single handedly destroyed, ruined, and scattered the history that took a civilization thousands of years to create in a matter of minutes for each place they discovered. While still in the Celestial realm we witnessed the mortals looting the tombs of the pharaohs and some found sacred temples. We watched in disbelief how they destroyed priceless artifacts while picking what they thought they could then easily sell for a nice sum. They were auctioned off for unbelievable prices to people who just wanted the prestige of owning something of an ancient civilization, it being from a pharaoh was just a bonus. In a way I'm thankful that some of them had already fallen into their statue-like states, else I'm not too sure they would have let the mortals off. If Nut, Geb, and Tefnut were awake I'm positive there would have been some type of natural disaster that would have befallen them. I had a hard enough time keeping Set, Ma'at, and Sekhmet under control. The hardest two to keep under control were Set and Sekhmet, that was because one loved chaos and the other war. And well if you have war you have chaos, and if there is chaos tempers will run high with a very high possibility of a war breaking out.

The mortals already had discord amongst themselves so I wasn't going to allow those two to stir up more trouble. I sometimes wish there was a god or goddess that was all calm and serene. With the hot heads I dealt with that would have been a breath of fresh air, they differently would have been able to help calm the two war-mongers that enjoyed chaos. They may have also then been the main person in charge, but that would have been totally ok with me if the two chaos makers were under control.
