Chapter 134 - 《Harry Potter- Ravenclaw》Chapter 2: An Unexpected Journey Home

Wyzett and Luna made their way through the station and soon spotted Xenophilius waiting outside.

He was the picture of a traditional wizard—dressed in a bright green robe adorned with buffalo horn patterns and topped with a matching pointed hat. Standing beside him was another wizard in a shirt and a slanted skirt, earnestly advising, "You really shouldn't dress like that, you know. You'll stick out like a sore thumb and make our job much harder…"

Wyzett could only sigh inwardly. He honestly couldn't decide which drew more attention: the flamboyant wizard's robes or the bizarre shirt-and-skirt combination.

As the three of them proceeded, Xenophilius's eccentric style drew plenty of curious glances. Not that he seemed to care—he marched ahead, chattering away.

"Luna and I hitched a ride with Arthur on the way here, but he's got four more kids to pick up for the trip home—no room left for us…"

"I asked Arthur all about it. Turns out, we can just take the bus to the Leaky Cauldron and then use the Floo to get back…"

Xenophilius sounded like a seasoned traveler, but this was actually his first time attempting to ride a Muggle bus.

When he tried to hand the conductor two Copper Knuts and board, Wyzett quickly snatched the coins away and pulled him off the bus.

Still grumbling, Xenophilius protested, "But Arthur is the head of the Office for the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts! He told me himself—a few copper coins is all it takes… Why's that bloke staring at me?"

Pennies are made of copper, after all, and look a bit like Knuts—it's no wonder wizards get them mixed up.

Wyzett shook his head gently. "Mr. Lovegood, Muggles have their own copper coins—they're called pennies."

"So I nearly broke the Statute of Secrecy?" Xenophilius looked genuinely alarmed. "I don't want to end up in Azkaban!"

"It'll be fine," Wyzett reassured him. "They're so similar, it's an easy mistake. Why don't we take the Knight Bus back to the village instead?"

"Good idea! Seems you've learned a lot at Hogwarts—much more reliable now!" Xenophilius beamed at Luna. "What do you think, sweetheart?"

Luna giggled behind her hand. "Wyzett knows the way home best. I think we should listen to him."

The Knight Bus always responded quickly—no sooner had Xenophilius raised his wand than the triple-decker purple bus screeched to a halt before them.

"Floo Powder is so much cheaper… I was hoping to save a few Sickles," Xenophilius muttered, wincing as he paid the fare. Even though the family was better off these days, old habits of thrift die hard.

It was a busy night; all the beds were already taken. While Xenophilius sorted out the payment, Wyzett and Luna snagged a spot by the window.

No sooner had Wyzett stowed his trunk than the Knight Bus jolted into motion.

Luna, caught off guard, toppled backward—straight into Wyzett.

He instinctively reached out to steady her, landing awkwardly on his trunk, his whole body going rigid. Luna's hair flew up, then spilled down over his face, tickling his skin. The scent of grass and wildflowers filled his nose, like stepping into a summer garden.

Both froze—Wyzett stiff as a board, Luna equally motionless, warmth blooming from where his hands gripped her arm.

The trunk slid backward, crashing into a brass bed.

Clang!

The noise was deafening. The sudden lurch of the bus, the crash of the trunk—both their hearts hammered wildly in their chests.

"Oi, passenger… mind getting up?" groaned conductor Stan Shunpike.

Xenophilius grumbled from the floor, "Couldn't you have waited for me to get my balance? Was it really that urgent?"

Both men had ended up in a heap, with Xenophilius sprawled on top of Stan.

Hearing their exchange, Wyzett finally snapped out of it, stammering, "That… that was a bit much… Are you alright?"

"Mmm…" Luna murmured, and the two quickly disentangled themselves.

She gripped the window ledge with both hands, gazing outside, lost in thought.

Wyzett fished a few sheets of parchment from his pocket and transfigured them into sturdy seats, inviting Luna and Xenophilius to sit.

"Are you alright, sweetheart?" Xenophilius, now settled in the middle seat, peered at her in concern. "Your face looks a bit red—did you hurt yourself?"

Still gazing out the window, Luna replied in her dreamy voice, "I'm fine… Really, you don't need to worry."

The twenty-minute ride felt both endless and fleeting to Wyzett—an unexplainable collision of emotions, like something inside his mind had bounced and scattered, leaving behind a kaleidoscope of confusion.

Even after getting off the bus, he felt light-headed, as if he'd just stepped off a spinning ride.

"Are you alright, Wyzett?" Xenophilius asked, puzzled. "You're walking like you're about to keel over. Didn't eat enough lunch?"

"I had snacks…" Wyzett replied, his excuse sounding feeble. "Maybe it's just all that homework on the train—didn't take a break."

"Mr. Lovegood, you take Luna home first… I'll walk a bit and get some fresh air. That should help. Don't worry about me."

Xenophilius clapped him on the shoulder, chuckling. "You're a true Ravenclaw, just like me! When I was your age, I always finished my homework first so I could do whatever I wanted for the rest of the holiday."

"Alright then! Just take it slow." He turned to Luna. "Sweetheart, keep an eye on him for me. I'll go home and heat up the stew."

"Okay, Dad."

Ottery St. Catchpole was a quiet, secluded village, tucked away among hills and woods.

The sky had fallen dark. It was a summer night, and the air buzzed with the music of crickets and cicadas—a chorus of country life.

A cool forest breeze swept away Wyzett's dizziness, clearing his head at last.

He drew his wand and whispered, "Lumos!"

A bright orb of light blossomed at the tip, quickly attracting a cloud of insects that danced around it.

Wyzett and Luna walked side by side, their shadows overlapping and separating in the gentle glow.

The chorus of insects seemed to rise and fall with their footsteps, weaving a living symphony around them.

Luna reached out, trying to catch a moth in her hand. "You're so good at magic! That was the Wand-Lighting Charm, right? And earlier… was that Transfiguration?"

She'd picked up quite a bit from helping Wyzett illustrate his textbooks.

Wyzett nodded. "Summer's long. When you get your wand, I'll teach you everything I know."

Luna blinked, her eyes shining. "I can't wait, Professor Wyzett…"
